I paid $699 for this (marked at $1199) and it was the only laptop I found that had ALL the features I wanted, including TWO Hard Drives (512 GB SD and 2 TB HD), CD/DVD, Bluetooth, USB ports, etc. The seller delivered within 48 hours and all worked well. Also nice that this didnt seem to be loaded down with "junk" software either.
As my first laptop, it is great having the portability. Its a little heavy on the lap after a half hour. The vent is down below, doesnt get hot anywhere, even when on a blanket. The screen and pictures are clear and crisp, the battery life I can live with but it really is done after around 5 hours. I dont do games or videos on mine, not sure what the difference would be. Im also new to the windows 10 so that is confusing me a bit, but not sure if the confusion is with the machine or the windows 10. It seems to be a bit slow going between programs but again, I think its faster when Im using an "app", Im used to a menu and lists to chose from. Havent tried the dvd yet, only had it a month.
We bought this product because it had all these great specs, but when we found out that it wasnt what we were wanting, we tried to factory reset and found out that it was in fact broken. You can not factory reset-- recovery media was missing and made it impossible. On top of that, when we first received the device, it was in a "return" box, which lead us to believe it was shipped straight from the return section of the warehouse. Very unpleasant and very disappointing.
The product really looks beautiful (even more than the picture) with the nice silver finish. The performance is good for a core i5, gets to the start screen within 5 seconds. Love that it’s a 265 SSD with a backup 1TB HDD. Had to install a synaptic touchpad driver as the default didn’t come with the finger gestures. From time to time there’s a little pop sound (from the speakers I believe) when I close the lid & something else I can’t remember at the moment. Had it for a week now and I’m really happy with the buy. I’d give an update If anything disturbing comes up.
replaced 7 y.o. laptop - I think the cost is high for 1366x768 display resolution. 1920 X 1080 would be ideal. Has Windows 10 Home installed. I see reviews with Windows Pro installed - not a big deal breaker - Although - the product description on Amazon (upper page) has the 1366x768 noted - yet if you scroll down further to specs you will notice the 1920x1080 posted. Very confusing. Too late for a return.
