Recently purchased a new 2017 MacBook Pro and like the one owned previous, I opted for a keyboard cover, well with the new design of MacBook Pro, for me this new cover was disappointing, reason being there is so little key tactile response with the new keyboard design from Apple that when I used this cover. It was like typing on a bare desk. No tactile response whatsoever, I took it off and found what little tactile response there was available, even then the learning or adaption curve is going to be a chore for me coming from a late 2012 MacBook Pro retina model. Requested Amazon allow me a return/refund and got it. I take great care of my laptops anyway but wanted the additional protection but alas its like typing on a bare wooden desktop.

I used this keyboard cover on my 2018 MacBook Pro as I was concerned that even with the new membrane Apple added underneath the keys that there still might be problems with dust and crumbs getting under the keys and causing issues. There are two main problems with this keyboard cover. The first is that it ruins the (already tiny) typing feedback you get from these new butterfly switches. I find it much more difficult to type with the cover on, I almost feel restricted in a way and I have to concentrate on my typing to make sure I hit the keys hard enough to actuate the switch. Without the cover I dont have to press nearly as hard/fast to type accurately. Overall the cover slows my typing down by 10-20%. The second issue I have is that even though this cover is close to the real size of the keyboard and fits on well, its not perfect. My unit shifted slightly side to side, which was irritating to me. I know its probably hard to get it fit perfectly, but this is slightly too far off for me. There are pieces of adhesive that are included in the box, which is nice, but I do not want to stick things on my keys and risk raising the overall height of the cover (Im concerned that like other reviewers had mentioned it might come into contact with the screen and leave marks). Overall I ended up returning the cover due to the typing experience being too weird for me to adjust to.
