I just got this mouse this morning, so I cant speak to its longevity; so Ill update this review after 6 months or so of daily use. I ordered and received the purple mouse shown in the item photographs. The actual hue of purple on the device I received has more pink in it, making it more like an orchid or deep lilac. As color is hard to describe, Ive included my own photos in the hope the difference in color will correctly display for you to see. The manufacturers packaging is very plain and simple, just a little tan box to fit the bubble-wrapped mouse. Theres a photo of the box in the item photographs provided by Amazon. Amazon puts the little box into a bubble envelope for added protection, which was adequate in my case. The item arrived undamaged and the little box was intact and not crushed or otherwise compressed. Im running Windows 8.1 Standard thats also setup as a SQL 2012 Server. I had absolutely no issues with the wireless receiver and mouse, and it worked almost instantly...even while Windows automatically detected and ran the installation files. In fact, I didnt even need to reboot after unplugging the old wireless receiver and plugging in this new one. This was a truly seamless, very easy process. I didnt need to do anything with respect to configuration in order for the mouse to work as expected. This is a right-handed mouse and has two buttons on the thumb side, a scroll wheel on the top that depresses and tilts to the right only, and a small alternate function button located in line with the scroll wheel and just to the back (you can see it in the photos). The problem is, because no software is included, theres no way to configure the functionality for these buttons. Windows 8.1 Standard does provide the ability to define the number of lines you want the page to scroll with the wheel (default is 6 lines), as well as the tilt wheel, horizontal scroll in characters (default is 20 chars). However, what I found is that the horizontal tilt wheel function wont control this mouse for sideways scrolling no matter what the setting. Pushing the scroll / tilt wheel to the right results in engaging the same function as depressing it, which is the rapid page scroll that responds to vertical AND horizontal mouse movement by quickly scrolling up/down or right/left within the entire page. The cursor changes accordingly to accommodate the recognized direction of travel in this mode. The mouse uses two, AAA batteries that are NOT included, so make sure you have them available when your mouse arrives or youll have to wait to use it until you buy some. I didnt make a typo, it takes triple A batteries. I had a little trouble getting the battery door off, and it seems a bit fragile to me, so be careful with it if you also encounter difficulty. Maybe it was just me, but I wanted to give you a heads up just in case. I suggest using a small flathead screwdriver and gently insert it into the notched edge (see my photo with blue arrow). Theres also a small storage compartment on the bottom of the mouse for holding the wireless USB receiver when not in use, as well as an on/off switch to conserve battery power. Both are very welcome features to me! So, for the price, features, color choices, and ease of getting up and running, I highly recommend this mouse. I think youll be very happy with it!

Had this mouse for about a year now.. worked great, felt great... was just a nice mouse. Slowly but surely... the more I used the mouse it seemed I had to click on something 2-3 times to get the mouse to work. eventually 3-4 times. I purchased two of these and the other still works great... Not sure I would buy again though. *** UPDATE*** After this review I received an email from Kathy at from TeckNet Pro. She was concerned on this mouse and how it performed. She asked me if I would accept another mouse to replace this failing mouse... I accepted. Within a week I made my first review, then got a brand new replacement mouse for the inoperative mouse. WOW.. the mouse works great again. I see they have a new design, just the power switch is in a different position, I like where they moved it. This company is outstanding!!! I am very pleased with this service and concern from Kathy and her company... I will buy again... if Kathy lets me... :) THANK YOU KATHY!!

Im a programmer who spends too much time on the computer and a good mouse is important for fatigue. I updated my wired mouse at the office with another version of this mouse and loved it so much I had to buy one for home. This version however doesnt have that great of a battery life. The other one turns itself off after about 15 minutes of inactivity. This one never turns off (at least when the computer is just asleep). I went through my first battery pretty quick, which was disappointing. The work version is still on the same battery and every co-worker who tries to use my computer and sees that the mouse wont move is frustrated, which is a huge bonus for me. All you have to do is click the mouse and it comes back. Just shaking it around does nothing though. The first time the screen goes black when the computer sleeps (when you would normally shake the mouse to wake it up) is pretty confusing and hilarious. Pretty quick you get used to clicking the mouse, then shaking the mouse, and then the computer wakes up. If youre not too comfortable with computers and dont care much about battery life, make sure you get the version that doesnt go inactive after a few minutes. I have very small hands, so this mouse is a bit too big for me, but should be fine for average hands. The previous and next buttons on the side are really useful and I dont accidentally click them because of the curvature of the mouse. I like that this one is more contoured to fit than the other one I got from them, which is more basic looking. The scroll wheel is sturdy and with a bit of rubber so your hands dont slip when scrolling like some of the other brands plastic wheels. Adjusting the mouse speed is very easy with a click of a button so you can cater it to what program youre using (such as gaming, drawing something, just using a word document, etc.). Other mice you have to go into the operating system to adjust that. One really cool thing about this mouse compared to other brands is that the USB receiver stores inside the mouse. If you need to travel with it, youll never lose the USB. In all, this mouse was definitely thought out and is incredibly cheap. Its much better than most of the mice you come across in the store.

This is actually a pretty good mouse. Ive had it for 2ish months, and the battery life seems great. I put in some nearly dead batteries right when I got it, and those lasted another month. I have a couple minor problems with it, though. The on/off switch is a little hard to flick. My old mouse, I would turn it off with one hand, but this one is a lot harder to do that. It also flicks in the opposite direction, but thats not really a big deal. So I have to use both hands to do it, or hold it weird. Sometimes Ill accidentally press the button on the side that makes the page go forward or back also, but still not really a big deal. Another thing, and this could be a good or bad thing, depending on the person, is its basically always working. So if I didnt turn it off, and I shut my laptop, and I even barely move the mouse, my laptop will turn back on while closed. My old mouse would need more moving to do that. The last thing, and Im not sure if its actually the mouse or not, but sometimes when I click, theres no response. But if I click again, it will. Idk if its my computer or the mouse. Other than all that, I really like it. My last mouse had the click wheel go out really early on, so hopefully it doesnt happen to this one too.

I now have two of these - the first one died after being dropped down a flight of concrete steps onto a concrete floor and then being chewed on by a very large dog. (No I was not surprised that it died when all of that happened. I WAS surprised and impressed that the mouses case did not break, shatter, or even crack.) I use this mouse with an android pad (RCA Pro 12) where it was recognized instantly and where it works perfectly. It fits may hand very well and the buttons all work flawlessly as does the tracking. That being said there is one minor problem. The description states that the mouse has 24-month battery life. The longest that I have gotten a pair of AAA batties to last is about 2 weeks - far less than 24 months. If I had to depend on that it would be a problem, but as my previous wireless mouse had an internal rechargeable battery that had to be recharged daily, this is a vast improvement from my perspective. (This week I switched to rechargeable lithium ion batteries, so I wont be buying any more duracell batteries for it, and Ive used them before - theyre typically good for at least 100 recharges, and that would be at least 3 years of use with this mouse, so Im a happy camper. I would recommend this mouse to co-workers, friends, and family (and I also bought one for my wife to use with her laptop as well, so I must really mean that...)

So this works great! It really does, the mouse is decent but the color is not as vibrant as it looks in the picture because it is much more dull. What is bad about this is that the USB nano receiver is so cheaply made that its already falling apart after only a few uses. ** Recently I was contacted by the seller based on my previous review of two-stars. They contacted me to refund my purchase due to the defect of the nano receiver! I have found that they have wonderful business sense and are very attentive to their customers. Whereas most other companies would ignore commentary as general complaints, Hippidion has shown that they are very involved with their product quality and customer satisfaction. I was really amazed by how well they handled this and because of their efforts I would recommend purchasing their products because you will be in good hands.

I thought my laptop was starting to totally suck (its 5 years old) but when I finally got around to buying a wireless mouse I realized my computer wasnt slow, my crappy built-in touch pad mouse was slow. Now that I have this mouse I feel like I have a new computer. Its smooth on every surface Ive put it on (including carpet, when Im stuck in the hallway at shool) and it hasnt stuck or been annoying in any way. Glad I bought it. Love the purple color. I love this mouse so much I literally slip it into a pocket of my backpack and take it with me when I take my laptop. I dont want to ever use my laptop without it.

This is by far the best wireless mouse Ive ever use!.. some of the highlights Ive seen so far - The size is just a perfect mixture of convenience and mobility - The ergonomic shape makes it really comfortable - The DPI selector really makes a difference when you want more or less agility - The material is pretty good, very durable and light on weight - A little detail I really like is the magnet in the USB dongle slot so it doesnt get lost as they always do KB

First, the mouse is uncomfortable in my hand. There are some rough spots on the left side and overall it is uncomfortable. Battery case is difficult to open first time. Dongle stores outside battery compartment where it can be easily lost. .All of that is personal preference. Granted. What is unacceptable is that the mouse does not work, wont connect/pair. And apparently, it cant be returned. Save your money and avoid this product.

I purchased this for my Dad who was tired of dealing with his old corded mouse (on a Windows 7 laptop). He loves it! This mouse has been used daily for the past week with no connection or construction issues. The DPI button is really nice in dialing in the amount of cursor movement to mouse movement ratio. One feature that we found to be really ingenious was the magnetic connection between the USB dongle and the bottom part of the mouse. He is a fan and would recommend this mouse to a friend or family member.
