Razer Cynosa Chroma Gaming Keyboard - [Customizable Chroma RGB Lighting][Individuallly Backlit Keys][Spill-Resistant Design][Programmable Macro Functionality][10 Key Anti-Ghosting]

The keyboard itself is excellent. The build quality is great, the RGB is awesome, and the fact that it is per key assignable is great! However, the Razer software isnt great, not necessarily the fault of the keyboard itself, but is necessary for the RGB to function. That leads me to the next aspect I dislike, the software has to be running on the PC in order for the RGB effects to work. Otherwise it defaults to a lame color cycle effect. Desipte those things I really shouldnt complain because for the price this is a excellent keyboard. I dont game, but I did want a cool looking keyboard that I could use everyday. They keys arent super loud, which was a must for me living in a apartment, but yet they do make a satisfying clicking noise. Overall Id buy it again, and im sure with software updates the software issues can be worked out.

I really enjoy using this Razer keyboard and I am actually typing on it now as I write this review. Its very comfortable and the adjustable feet let you pick a preferable height. The keys are comfortable and satisfying to press and are perfect for those who want a clicky feeling without creating too much noise. The colors are vibrant and the effects are beautiful to look at. My only issue is that the lights are under a white barrier which creates a mixture of colors if there are two different colored keys next to each other. This makes it hard to make preset designs for certain games as the specific keys you want to stand out, dont stand out as much as they should. Besides this, the keyboard is excellent. The response time is great, and Ive had 0 problems when typing.

... I have to manually turn the lighting off every time I am going to leave the computer for any length of time. The software has several settings that should take care of this for me, but apparently screen saver mode is not considered to be inactive according to the software. I even tried using power settings - no go. The lighting was still on. So, I keep the software window open, and when I know I am going to be walking away from the computer while leaving it on, I click the toggle to turn the brightness setting to off. And then I turn it back on when I sit down at the computer again. Otherwise, the feel and accuracy of the keys is phenomenal. After 2 years with a cruddy keyboard, this one has made my typing accurate again!

Ok, seriously for the price you cant really touch this keyboard.. its the only one that offers individual key RGB lighting at this price and its probably better than all of the cheap Chinese trash floating around on eBay for $19. But thats where it ends. Using this keyboard is ok but nothing special the keys are somewhat mushy.. Ive used other membrane keyboards in the past which have been just fine but something about this keyboard just feels off.. You can tell they put all the money into the RGB and thats it. I picked up a Corsair K70 low profile today at Best Buy and what a world of difference.. The sound and feel of the keys is just sublime. Plus I can use my previously installed iCUE software to manage it instead of having to use Razers software which was somewhat clunky. Im not not too thrilled with Razer products in general but couldnt turn down the Amazon Warehouse deal for $40 (which included free dog hair from the previous owner) This is a keyboard that looks the part and thats about it. You will find yourself wanting more if youre someone who does any frequent typing.
