I have a K270 I purchased back in 2014, and I loved it so much I wanted to get another, just to have, as a backup/reserve, just in case. Well, I could not have anticipated the level of disappointment I got with this new K270. The quality is so vastly reduced, its clear Logitech switched manufacturers, both are in China, so that in itself is not the issue. The Chinese are fully capable of making very high quality technological devices. The wireless connectivity is sporadic, cuts in and out even with the USB receiver literally one foot away. We all know how maddening that is. Based on the difference in quality, they have to be saving at least 50%. Its sad, and unfortunately a sign of the times. Its terrible. Dont buy it. I have been a huge Logitech proponent for more than 20 years. I bought the first wireless mouse they offered in the late 90s, which had a giant transceiver, bigger than the mouse itself, and it was awesome! It would still be awesome today. I dont have any alternative recommendations, other than get something else, and perhaps youll have to pay more than typical consumers expect to pay these days... I do believe Logitech does still offer quality components, but unfortunately its difficult to tell if thats what youre buying.

The keyboard doesnt come with a normal Logitech Unifying Receiver (on the left), it comes with a slightly different receiver (on the right). However, you can pair the K270 with the normal unifying receivers by downloading the unifying software from Logitech and manually pairing it that way. That way you dont need to have 2 receivers plugged into your computer.

I had high expectations for the wireless K270 keyboard. But its been replaced by a traditional old-school USB keyboard. The Logitech K270 started out fine. I could sit with it on my lap and my Logitech wireless Trackball (which is fantastic) on my arm rest. But after about two months and out of the warranty and customer service window it started lagging. That is, I could hit a key and literally (and I knowingly use "literally") it would take 5-10 seconds for the letter to appear. As I got impatient, I might hit the same key several times and then magically 15-20 letters would appear. This happened in word processing, emails, whatever application I was using. Various comments online suggested this isnt unusual and suggested possible cures: change position of the unifyer chip; plug directly into the computer, move stuff around on my desk. Nothing worked and doesnt work. While Im piling on, the overall build is cheap. The key movement is loose and clicky. But I could have lived with that. I cant live with 10-second letter lag time. If you try one, keep track of your warranty time and return in that window if you have to. Good luck!

Logitech products used to last for years with flawless performance. The last few products Ive purchased all started failing within two years. I used to buy their top of the line stuff, knowing itd be with me for at least three years, sometimes as long as ten years. I stopped buying their expensive stuff because it no longer lasted. Now the cheap stuff like this keyboard doesnt even work that well out of the box and within six months is noticeably dropping connections every time I used it. Within two years it cant type a sentence with out missing letters and dropping connections for many seconds out of every minute. Im typing this on a Vitalitim wireless keyboard that worked out of the box with no software and no hassle. No lag, its light and sturdy. Im sending the K270 to the landfill along with all the other logitech mice, universal remotes and headphones that have crapped out a few years after purchase. Im done with Logitech, the software is a hassle that adds less value than inconvenience and the build quality is rubbish.

Keyboard is OK, but I will be returning it. The space bar sits very low, close to the housing around the keys. But it has to be fully pressed 100% to register the stroke. With the side of my thumb pressing it like normally happens, I often hit the housing before it registers. The board also flexes in the middle when you push down, worsening the problem and making it feel wimpy. In the picture, that keystroke is NOT registering. Logitechs SetPoint software would be the highlight of this system, it provides some nice features. Pros: On/Off switch Cap lock light Synced to my mouses unifying receiver SetPoint software allows customization. I was able to re-assign the home and email buttons to be the fast-forward and reverse buttons for spotify/media players. SetPoint allows on screen indictors when you press volume up/down, cap lock, etc. SetPoint allows you to "lock" the numlock key so it doesnt turn off. Cons: Space bar doesnt register the stroke very well I dont like the two-tone color scheme. It caused my mouse to lag/loose connectivity sporadically. Installing SetPoint and updating drivers seemed to help though. Structurally weak case flexes too much in the middle.

The keyboard itself feels high quality, and it was very easy to install. However, I use a lot of design software (especially Blender), which requires the use of ctrl+various letter keys for shortcuts, hotkeys, etc. And this keyboard layout just doesnt allow comfortable use of all the necessary ctrl shortcuts with one hand, at least in my experience. It somehow feels both too cramped and too large, at the same time. Ctrl-S seems too close together, but ctrl-T is too far apart. Others experiences may differ, but I personally am unsatisfied with the layout of this keyboard, and will be returning it.

Been using it for a couple of weeks know, very good performance, I bought this kybd because the previous one didnt worked well and so far there is no complaint on this one. It has some special function keys on the top to control the audio (mute, vol up, vol dwn), to launch email, to turn off/on laptop, I like these special function keys especially because I hate when keyboards have like three different function on the same key. Very solid construction and very good material. You can turn the kybd on and off which helps if you are not going to use it for a day or two. The only thing was that I had to buy a wrist rest to properly rest my hands while typing, w/o the wrist rest it feels like tall and is not very comfortable for me.

Been a big fan of Logitech keyboards for many years, and this one does not disappoint. I have two older Logitech keyboards (EX110) that they dont offer any longer which finally conked out (some keys have to be hit extra hard), that Id been using for about 5 years. Reluctantly I decided to give up my old keyboard and try the K270 out, but have been very happy with it for about a week now. Keys have a nice feel and sound, and are not "squishy". About two weeks ago I had purchased one of those mechanical keyboards (a Rosewill for about $100) here on Amazon, but returned it due to the keys getting locked up from typing too fast (?), causing the keyboard to freeze. Since I am basically on my computer all day (Im a programmer), having a keyboard that might lock up at any time is intolerable. Maybe there are some really high quality mechanical keyboards out there (the feel and sound of it was incredible), but after reading reviews on the higher end brands, I got the idea that they only last a few months. Im willing to try others, but probably only if I get a recommendation from someone thats been using one for 3+ years. Note: I have an older (~3 years old) "unifying" cordless Logitech mouse with the mini USB receiver, but was not able to get this K270 keyboard and the old mouse to actually work at the same time from the same receiver. Maybe theres a trick to it...? The Logitech keyboard is great for this price, you cant go wrong.

Future update on 9/23: The original unit is in perfect working order. The problem was "Operator Error", the dongle that comes with this keyboard must be used, the keyboard doesnt seem to work with the logitech "unifying receiver" I had already installed. My assumption was faulty that it would work with those type of dongles. Update: Replacement unit arrived in perfect working order, with Duracell batteries. Amazon support is amazing. Previous review: The unit arrived in seemingly new condition, with round clear plastic seals over the edge of the box. When opened, it contained the keyboard with the plastic bag cut open along the long edge. Also present were the single page instructions for installing the unifying receiver, said receiver, safety paperwork, and surprisingly two loose AAA Duracells. Also loose in the box were battery cover and the pull strip used to prevent battery contact (see images). I _love_ Logitech, but was already beginning to be concerned because it seemed unlikely that they would ship with Duracells. When set up as instructed the power indicator showed no light, nor did the caps lock light and the PC did not see the unit. Note that this is not my first time at the rodeo, as I have several Logitech devices that use the unifying receivers. I replaced the batteries with a few sets fresh out of the box and nothing made any change to the results. It was dead to the world. I will be requesting a refund, unless I can be convinced that it is worth _more_ of my time to try and troubleshoot an additional (seemingly pre-opened) unit which might be in the same condition.
