To understand where Im coming from ... I own the MX anywhere.. it has the hyper-fast scroll wheel and the scroll wheel lets you move left/right or whatever you set your buttons to. Plus this one sucks scrolling on either finger. I even messed with my scroll options to go faster, and still dissatisfied. I mean if they charged me $50 I wouldnt care...but for the price its ridiculous. If they could add the hyper fast scrollerOR an extra button or two. Easy 4.5/5 I got this to help with my carpal..but now the scroll wheel is making me work hard and if anything making it worse.

I am a designer and developer, so i work all day at the computer, and use the mouse heavily. I had an ergonomic mouse (goldtouch) offered by my previous employer that worked great but did not have it anymore because i switched jobs. Since i needed to get a new mouse, I decided to experiment. After using this mouse for an entire week, there were two aspects of this mouse that really failed. First, this mouse did not do enough to take the pressure off the bottom of my wrist. With carpel tunnel, the more pressure on the bottom of my wrist the more i am affected by the carpel tunnel. The mouse was angled but not angled enough. There was still a significant amount of pressure on the bottom of my wrist instead of the side. The mouse needs to position my hand closer to 90 degrees. Id say, its about a 45 degree angle which may be more natural angle, but i would expect an ergonomic mouse to relieve the #1 medical condition for using a mouse and take as much pressure off the bottom of my wrist as possible. The next thing was the positioning of the scroll wheel. the scroll wheel was out of reach for my fingers to reach. i would have to shift my hand out of the natural position, scroll the wheel, and then adjust my hand back in position. I do not have long fingers. I am 58", but this should be an average height between male or female. It seemed to put my fingers, hand, and wrist under more stress, than a cheap, typical mouse would, so i cannot recommend this at all to anyone. I had no other issues with the mouse. I just bought the Evoluent VM4R. i have only taken it out of the package, but have not used it yet. I can already tell this new mouse does not have these two problems i mentioned above. I will use it a week and find out.

This vertical mouse has got to be the most comfortable to use with a standing desk configuration, but everything else kinda falls flat when it comes to functionality and ease of use. The biggest ones that stand out are: - The Middle buttons "Infinite" scrolling is long gone and now scrolling is tedious ... it feels like you should be able to flick that wheel with minimal effort now in this ergo position - The Horizontal scroll is gone and you would think it wouldnt be missed but it NEEDS to be there if not more so now than ever! - The Navigate (Fwd/Back) buttons are weirdly placed and having to stretch/flex your thumb horizontally instead of a natural vertical lift/drop of the thumb to navigate makes things awkward (the MX Master had these placements perfect) - AND THE GESTURE BUTTON ... OH MY! How do you get to it? Thumb! Index finger? Forehead! They should have taken the MX Master and flipped it w/o removing a thing with very little tweaks OR made the middle button a touch sensitive scroll to take this mouse into the future. In short, this mouse is a natural extension of your hand but thats about it, it takes some effort in getting used to its weirdly placed wheels/buttons which makes anything but moving a pointer on the screen, a chore.

Below is the script for my video review on Youtube (under title: Logitech MX Vertical Mouse - 30 Days Going Vertical). I purchased this with my own money and this is an unbiased take. Thank you :) Vertical mice have been around for some time now, but this is the first one Logitech has ever created. Logitech is known for making very nice, high quality peripherals at an affordable price. Their MX line for lack of a better term is their flagship line and typically comes at a higher cost. But at that high cost you’re getting better features, a built-in battery, a unique/premium design and the overall craftsmanship is just better. And this mouse is no different. Overall the body of the mouse is composed from a plastic polymer which allows it to be equal parts durable and light as it comes in at around 135 grams. The portion of the mouse where your hand rests on and interfaces with has this nice texturized, rubber coating. This texturized surface allows for improved grip and allows the overall end user experience to be that much more comfortable. The MX vertical mouse has 6 buttons in total, 4 of which are customizable via Logitechs downloadable application. Along the right edge is standard left and right buttons and in between is the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is depressible, customizable and has that same rubber coating as the rest of the mouse. It is buttery smooth, has a subtle click and feels so nice when turning it. Along the left edge there is two more customizable buttons. These are just above where your thumb lies and are easy to reach, even if you have smaller hands. Along the top edge just adjacent Logitech’s branding is our last customizable button. This is also easily within reach and comes setup as a DPI adjuster out of the box. This button allows you to toggle between 2 different DPI settings, both of which can be adjusted by holding down the button and moving the mouse. The DPI range of this mouse is extremely impressive. It can cover as low as 400 dots per inch or a maximum of 4000 dots per inch. This is helpful for a few reasons: firstly the higher the DPI you can achieve the more area you can cover when moving your mouse. This is convenient when you have a larger monitor such as an ultrawide or when using a 4k monitor as you can cover more pixels with less movement. Higher DPI is usually emulated via settings within the software but this results in less smooth movement which is important for professional work or while gaming. And less movement feeds into the main ideology of this mouse. Higher dpi allows for less movement which is less strain on your wrist, resulting in a more comfortable experience. This is the main reason why this mouse exists: to minimize strain on your wrist and increase the overall comfort. It does this by allowing for a higher DPI range but mainly by altering the way your hand rests on the mouse. The average mouse orients your hand parallel with the surface. In order to achieve this position your forearem twists and is forced into a pronated position. This causes stress on a major muscle in your wrist, the pronator quadratus. This muscle (along with the pronator teres) is responsible for turning your wrist inward and maintaining this pronated position. Not only is your wrist stressed but in order to maintain this position your elbow is forced to flare away from your body causing a secondary strain on your deltoid, which in turn causes a tertiary strain on your upper back near your scapula. In order to relieve this strain, Logitech has re-oriented the angle at which your hand rests on the mouse. Rather than being parallel with the surface, the mx vertical mouse is oriented at a 57-degree angle. This is a more natural position for your wrist to be in and helps reduce strain greatly. Not only does this reduce the strain in your wrist, it also helps keep your elbow tucked closer to your body, allowing your deltoid to relax, and further preventing it from causing strain on your upper back. In terms of connecting the mouse you have 3 options: you can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or with this included usb dongle. And lastly you can hard wire in with the included USB type-C cable. The usb type c port also allows for charging. The mouse has a 240mAh battery and Logitech claims you can get 4 months of battery life on a single charge and I actually think this is accurate. Over the 35 days I have owned this mouse, I have used it 2-6 hours on a given day and have put roughly 80 hours of use on my first charge. And according to logitech’s desktop application my battery is still near full. Only time will tell if it actually survives 3 more months without needing to reach for the cable but as of now it’s excellent! The MX vertical mouse is also capable of connecting up to 3 devices as it has an easy-switch selector on the bottom. This is nice if you’re wanting to use this across multiple computers and it switches effortlessly whether you’re on a pc or mac. Overall this mouse is great. It attempts to provide a more comfortable, ergonomic experience and reduce strain in your wrist and I have to be honest I was skeptical at whether or not this would even achieve that goal. I mean I’ve never had any wrist issues before would I actually benefit from this? The answer is a resounding yes. After using this mouse for just over a month I can comfortably say this mouse will provide you with a more comfortable experience and it will make you aware that you are causing stress to your wrist. Just transitioning from the mx vertical mouse to my keyboard, I can feel a drastic difference in my wrist. It immediately becomes strained when typing and relief is found when I go back to using the mouse. If you have any wrist or arthritic issues definitely give this mouse a look, it may just provide the relief you need. I know I won’t be going away from mine anytime soon.

Ive used an Evoluent Vertical mice for over a decade and when my last one broke (mousewheel got stuck after a fall) I decided not to go back. The accuracy wasnt the best and it was heavy which put a strain on my wrist despite it being vertical. The USB receiver also didnt play well with the dongle needed for my work Macbook. I was concerned that since the Logitech Mouse wasnt completely vertical it would be a problem but Ive used it over a month now with no problem. Its smaller than the Evoluent mouse and since you dont need alkaline batteries its a lot lighter. The best part about the Logitech Vertical Mouse however is Logitechs Flow software. Using the mouse, Blueetooth and this software, I can move seamlessly between three different devices at one time. I have a Type C mouse Macbook for work and an old 2011 iMac at home and I can work between the two with ease. Once my mouse hits a certain zone of one device screen, the mouse automatically switches and appears on the other device. On a Mac I just had to make sure to enable the security settings for the Logitech Options Daemon and that the mouse was set up on each of the devices to get this to work. There is already software out there to do this, but having it included with the mouse makes it even more worth it.

I am a CAD designer and typically hold a mouse most of the 8 hours I work every day. A click and hold with the mouse wheel is how to rotate the 3D object in the software. Scrolling in and out with the wheel is how you zoom in and out. This wheel is used A LOT and the one on this mouse is worse than the one in my cheapo Dell mouse. The indents in the wheel are spaced out and require a little more force to overcome than a wheel in my M325 and my G602. The force required to depress the wheel is also higher than all three mice I have mentioned. That is a major bummer and I really want to give this mouse 3 stars, but I realize most users are not concerned with this and everything else about the mouse is excellent. On a side note if Logitech is listening. Why not add a third mouse button to be operated by the ring finger? The way this mouse is held makes it an exceptional candidate for a third mouse button. Fix the wheel and add a third mouse button and you will have hit a home run. I dream of being able to use a third button with my ring finger for so many CAD operations. Positive notes include: -The mouse glides effortlessly over my mouse pad. There is a lot of that slick material on the bottom of this mouse. Very nice. -Tactically this mouse is excellent. It feels wonderful to hold. -They nailed the Goldilocks of weight for this mouse. Its not too heavy, and its not too light. Its weight is perfect. -The two regular mouse buttons are excellent. The click is very nice and clicks well from multiple spots on the button. -The tracking is exceptional. -Time will tell, but it feels durable. I feel like I could throw this in my computer bag and not worry about giving it a case or its own padding. UPDATE (5/26/2019): The wheel started squeaking as I was scrolling with it. I contacted customer support and with some reluctance they replaced the mouse. The replacement was great...for about 2 months. It squeaks as I am scrolling now as well. Its unfortunate for an otherwise excellent mouse to have a fatal flaw. This is the only problem I have with this mouse.

Ive used vertical mice for more than 4 years now, so Ill share my experience and comparisons. Im a software developer by trade and a gamer by hobby, so my mice get a lot of use, and I use vertical mice to combat my tendinitis. I started with the Evoluent VerticalMouse, which I LOVED. In terms of basic feel and functionality, it exceeds the Logitech MX Vertical. However, its mouse buttons degraded over time, so that each mouse would only function for a maximum of 2 years before one or more buttons stopped clicking consistently. After going through two of those mice, I was excited to see the Logitech MX Vertical announced, and I ordered one as soon as it was available. In general, its a good mouse, and its as effective for my tendinitis as the Evoluent, even though its angle is not quite as directly vertical. In fact, because of its more sloping angle and more traditional button placement, its likely an easier transition from a standard mouse than the Evoluent. The Evoluent has an extra button that naturally falls under the ring finger, but I miss that less than I expected to. My biggest complaint about the Logitech is the buttons on its left side. Whereas the Evoluent has two long buttons, one above the thumb and one below, the Logitech instead has two short buttons that both sit above the thumb, so I find I have to stretch my hand oddly to reach the forward one, and be very careful not to press both buttons at once. The top button is also a little awkward, since it doesnt fall under or near any of the standard resting finger positions, but Im getting used to it. For users who dont care that much about the extra buttons, of course, none of this would matter. Aside from that shortcoming, the Logitech holds its own pretty well. The software for programming buttons is comparable to the Evoluent; both allow for a range of common functionality for each button as well as the ability to assign custom keystrokes. Ive only had to charge the Logitech once so far; it lasted about 2 months on a charge. Its documentation says up to 4 months, but then again, I probably use it a lot more than the average consumer, so I really cant complain. As long as it lasts as well as other Logitech mice Ive had, rather than failing within 2 years like the Evoluent, Ill count it a very good purchase.

I bought this mouse after trying the offering from Anker and finding it to not track very well at times, which was very frustrating; so much so that I wound up buying another Vert mouse soon after (this one). I will be comparing the two a lot since they are the only 2 vertical mice Ive dealt with. The finish and comfort level of the Anker is better than the Logitech: Logitech is hard plastic with some grooves in it and the Anker just has a sort of smooth rubbery texture over the whole mouse and is much lighter in comparison (triple As compared to internal battery weight for sure). The Logitech MX Vert is a great mouse, if not a little overpriced for what it is. It is still the best Vert mouse on the market as far as I am aware, and I have been using it everyday since I got it and love it. I have heard a lot of mention in reviews and other places that there is a learning curve to using a Vertical mouse. I did not have that experience with either mice when I received them. It felt very natural and easy to use. Its essentially exactly the same except your hand is positioned in a more comfortable position. For reference I am a 59" male with pretty small hands: the tip of my longest finger to the end of my palm/hand is only about 7in. If you have bigger fingers your fingers will hang off the front of the mouse as shown in other reviews.

I have used the Master MX for three years now but I use computer for almost 6 hours a day and my wrist has started to hurt so I got this. This mouse is different and Im sure I would need practice. Its not too bad though. Since its 5V .5 A you can charge it using USB port on your computer. I just got it in the mail so Im not sure how itll work in the long run. Just realized it does not work on glass, so apparently they went a step backwards...

I must say I like the wrist position better on this than on a standard mouse. And it is a nice change when youre tired of having your hand in the prone position. Its nice that you can use the unifying receiver and use both your regular Logitech mouse AND this one and just change whenever you feel like it. But - sometimes its necessary to lift up a mouse and move it to get all the way across a screen. This mouse, unlike regular ones, you cant do that without clicking buttons accidentally. You cant grip it tight enough to lift it and not push a button. So you have to take your fingers off the buttons and grab the base to lift it. The semi-sticky sides are just not grippy enough to hold it, and they have vertical grip lines instead of horizontal ones, so your fingers slide right over them. Also, the pressure on the right and left buttons when clicking tends to also move the base slightly, and that can negate your attempt to double click. The mouse is programmed just the way I like it right out of the box, and was simple to activate. Just plug in the receiver, let the software install, and youre good to go. Charging is easy with the supplied USB charging cord. The button on its top is used to adjust cursor speed. It does not have a switch on the scroll wheel to convert to smooth scrolling. Has a convenient on/off switch on the bottom to conserve battery life. I think the forward and back back rocker buttons could be a tad larger. The mouse is very responsive just as my other wireless Logitechs are. All in all, Im happy with it. Some design changes could be made, but its worth a buy.
