This vertical mouse has got to be the most comfortable to use with a standing desk configuration, but everything else kinda falls flat when it comes to functionality and ease of use. The biggest ones that stand out are: - The Middle buttons "Infinite" scrolling is long gone and now scrolling is tedious ... it feels like you should be able to flick that wheel with minimal effort now in this ergo position - The Horizontal scroll is gone and you would think it wouldnt be missed but it NEEDS to be there if not more so now than ever! - The Navigate (Fwd/Back) buttons are weirdly placed and having to stretch/flex your thumb horizontally instead of a natural vertical lift/drop of the thumb to navigate makes things awkward (the MX Master had these placements perfect) - AND THE GESTURE BUTTON ... OH MY! How do you get to it? Thumb! Index finger? Forehead! They should have taken the MX Master and flipped it w/o removing a thing with very little tweaks OR made the middle button a touch sensitive scroll to take this mouse into the future. In short, this mouse is a natural extension of your hand but thats about it, it takes some effort in getting used to its weirdly placed wheels/buttons which makes anything but moving a pointer on the screen, a chore.

The wheel should have been positioned more toward the nose of the mouse. My middle finger falls naturally toward the front. I have to bend it to access the wheel; hardly the "natural handshake position" advertised. Perhaps people with short fingers will find the placement convenient. I dont.

You have been warned. This mouse requires BT 4.0 to work. Otherwise you are stuck with the dongle or USB. I didnt find this information when purchasing it. My 2017 Mac Pro only has BT 3.0 so I will need to buy a BT dongle. Pretty stupid in my opinion.

As a designer working in photoshop and the adobe suite frequently I have always needed a good mouse. During particularly long sessions I have developed wrist pain from traditional mice. My favorite mouse is the Logitech MX Master. So when I saw Logitech was making a premium vertical mouse I jumped at the opportunity to try it out! First off, it looks great and does feel great in the hand. It did not take me long to adjust to the new position. It felt natural very quickly. It is very light which at first bothered me but now I like it compared to the much heavier MX Master. But it was after some more use I noticed some problems and things that are less than ideal. 1. The mouse causes strain on your wrist where the bone touches your desk: The mouse grip is raised quite high up, so to fully grasp it you need to hold your hand suspended. My hand/wrist naturally wanted to rest so I ended up defaulting to gripping it lightly with my fingers with my wrist against the desk. Over time this got painful. Im not sure why the grip is so high up. I have bought a wrist pad rest to see how that improves things. But it does seem like a design oversight. It is not comfortable to use for long periods without something to prop up your wrist. 2. The scroll wheel feels like a step down from previous mice that had the free scroll option: The MX master has this great variable scroll wheel that can switch between notched and smooth scrolling. I didnt realize how much I used / enjoyed this feature till it was gone. Considering the price premium charged for this mouse its a shame they did not include it. 3. No horizontal scroll wheel This one is a nitpick but I also miss having a second scroll wheel to scroll horizontally. I have to do this frequently in large documents and images and I miss having that control. Again its a premium mouse feature but this is a premium mouse... 4.No Dark-field laser tracking I was also disappointed that I cannot use this mouse on glass like the MX Master. I have a glass desk and so I had to buy a mouse pad in order to use this mouse on it. Again, not a huge deal but it feels like a step backwards in quality and ease of use. Which shouldnt happen at the upper tiers of their product offerings. Overall I still think this is a good product. When I go back to my MX Master it now feels wrong and clunky which tells me my hand prefers the new one. But It lacks some premium features that feel like they should have been included and the fact that it is not comfortable out of the box is worrying. Your milage may vary but I think Logitech had the opportunity to blow us away with a new mouse paradigm but it is not the pinnacle I had hoped for.
