Let me start by saying, I have used many mice over the years. I work in IT and have been using mice as long as I can remember. I prefer Logitech mice, as they typical have longevity and minimal problems. The MX master is kinda "Meh" to me. I dont hate it, but I dont love it. I was previously using the m705, which is a great mouse to my hands. It has a nice midsized feel, making it easy to travel with, and also a great battery life. However, the MX just feels odd coming from m705. The ergonomics seem off with the arch sitting too high for me, almost giving me cramps in my hands. And Im not a fan of the forward and back buttons stacked on top of each other. I dont recall ever having a configuration like this and dont like having to think about whether Im hitting the correct button. The toggle for switching between multiple systems is on the bottom, so you have to pick the mouse up to switch from one system to the next. This may or may not bother you depending how frequently youre switching between systems. They have another series where the toggle button was on top; this location wasnt my cup of tea. One last thing Ill mention is that while this seems to have a decent battery life, Im reluctant to use this in an office environment. If it dies, you have to wait to get a charge as opposed to tossing in new batteries and continuing to work. They do say you can get a couple hours use from a 10 min charge so this is a personal preference. Outside of this, the mouse is full of features and customizable as most of them are. You can configure the buttons to do certain functions or open apps. Scrolling is smooth and tracking is accurate. I like that you can use the dongle or Bluetooth for switching between systems, which has worked great so far. I have continued to use the mouse for a couple of weeks, adjusting a bit more to it. Although it feels better than it did at first, Im still not in love with the thing and debating on whether its worth keeping. I got it on sale, but had I paid full price there would be no question, it would be going back. You can get a mouse with great ergonomics and 95% of the same functionality for around one third to one fourth the price.

Apparently to use this with bluetooth you need a PC or laptop that can detect low energy bluetooth - must be very low energy, I have to say. My laptop can communicate with my bluetooth speakers from 50 feet away but cant detect this mouse thats just a couple of feet from it. Sometimes I will see UNKNOWN device pop up but cant connect regardless. There is a unifying receiver that comes with it, but thats another slot on my USB dock that I have to lose. The mouse is heavy too so if you have a habit of lifting your mouse occasionally, it can get tiring and strain on your wrists is a real concern. There is an extra hidden button where the thumb rests and while nice to have an extra feature, clicking feel sucks. The only way I can tell that it worked is when it worked. No tactile feedback at all. Thumbwheel is very useful for me. I assigned it to speaker volumes so I can easily change audio levels without having to find that sound icon. Even a multimedia keyboard, which I have, is inconvenient. Just for this reason, I am keeping this mouse.

I originally bought this mouse so I could quickly switch between two PCs at my desk. Im in utter shock they put the device switcher UNDERNEATH the mouse instead of as another button next to the scroll mode button. This horrible implementation completely defeated the purpose of having one mouse to rule your workspace as it is extremely cumbersome to flip the mouse upside down and press a button every time you want to switch devices (need to use two hands). Even worse, if you only have 2 devices, the mode switcher requires you cycle thru all 3 devices meaning you need to remember to press the switch button once if you want to go to device 2, and twice if you want to switch from device 2 back to device 1 (because it needs to run thru device 3 whether you are using it or not). Being a G502 user, this mouse also has a really bulky arch that doesnt feel as ergonomic as my G502. I might get used to it, I might not. Likely returning this week though by the sole fact they put such a critical button in such an illogical location.
