Upgraded from a very old Performance MX mouse that started having issues, and Im very disappointed with my experience so far with this mouse in Windows 10. Ergonomically this mouse was not designed for my hand. The palm/knuckle section of the mouse sits very high, and feels awkward. The back/forward buttons are placed in a very awkward position that almost requires me to move my hand to get at them, I cant just roll my thumb over them anymore. The worst issue Ive been running into is with the "logitech options" software and its pointer speed settings. Even at the highest speed the mouse is VERY slow. The only workaround Ive found for this is to shut off the logitech software in task manager and set the mouse speed in "mouse properties" in the windows control panel (if you do not shut off the logitech software it will overwrite your settings). If you opt to shut off the Logitech software it will disable functionality like the middle button click, back/forward buttons, and the horizontal scroll wheel.

No at all happy with this mouse. I dont know how to say it other than its overall feeling and function are CHEAP. The buttons and wheels are not at all smooth. The "feel" in any button is different each time its pressed..... sometimes sloppy, sometime hard, sometimes easy.... never the same twice. The scroll wheel is beyond bad..... wobbly, turn it a bit too fast and it goes into "free wheel". The thumb wheel might be a good idea IF it worked..... Ive not been able to get it to work, no matter what function its set to. For a lot less money, you can get a refurbed Performance MX mouse.....DO IT! Its a FAR better product. Ill be boxing up this one, and returning. Finally, its very annoying to have to download/install another piece of software to make this mouse function. Logitech could update Setpoint to include this mouse, but chose instead to require more software..... not a smart idea.

For the first year I had this mouse it was fantastic. I purchased two more to use in other locations I need to work. I use them on an Apple MacBook Pro 13" 2017. Over the last four months the cursor now jumps around the screen due to lag. Ive done everything I can think of to fix it, bluetooth, unifying device, turn bluetooth off, uninstall Logitech options, move closer together, farther apart, turn off wifi. Logitechs support articles go back two years and only ever say to use the unifying device. Apple doesnt say anything about anything ever. Im not sure what to do with three mx masters I can no longer use. The MacBook hasnt been great either with its two USB-C ports both losing connection with the monitor regularly.

Update: Ive used it for a few days now... Absolute trash of a mouse. The fast scroll wheel is so "loose" that you only need to move the mouse and not touch the wheel for whatever your looking at scroll the page. The ratcheting system (press the ratchet button) feels cheap as can be, it sort of feels like its engaging some sort of plastic mechanical arm inside, often times have to press it twice to get it to engage or disengage. I cant be bothered to return it, but I will go buy some Logitech MX Performance mice. End update. Good mouse over all, but... If you are coming from the Performance MX you may be surprised to find out that its a lower profile mouse. It doesnt fit my hand nearly as well as the Performance MX mouse does. Also the Logitech Options software/settings is down right primitive compared to the original Settings for the Performance MX. There are so many settings available in the Settings software compared to the Options software that its almost down right criminal. The grips while both have rubberized side grips, the Performance MX mouse is more "sticky" for lack of a better term so my hand sticks to it better, the new MX S2 is very slick so I find myself having to squeeze it harder to hold on to it. One would think looking at that nice geometrical pattern of the side grips that its going to grip better but it doesnt. Im quite sad that they discontinued the original Performance MX device even with its faulty clicker buttons (used to go through them every six months) as Id gladly pay more to keep using a superior mouse like the Performance MX. Im now looking to buy up Performance MX mice so that I have them well into the future.
