Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Wireless Mouse – Use on Any Surface, Hyper-Fast Scrolling, Rechargeable, Control up to 3 Apple Mac and Windows Computers and Laptops (Bluetooth or USB), Graphite
Really love the first generation of this product. After 4 years and having been dropped many times walking to meetings, the buttons started malfunctioning, so I purchased this model. Overall I like the product, but a few things to note... 1) They used to include a soft case with the 1st gen version. Im not sure why they couldnt include that again for the premium you pay for this mouse 2) I haven;t had long enough to test durability, but the build quality just seems significantly cheaper in this version compared to 1st gen 3) For someone who uses this device with a laptop and is on the go, the on-off switch on this version is "inconvenient" compared to 1st gen 4) I really like that this version is rechargeable, but interestingly enough, without AA batteries, I really do not care for the "weight" of this mouse as I push it around my desk. Im sure I just need to get used to it, but personally, it just seems to not feel balanced.

This mouse doesnt have a wheel click. You know, the button that closes tabs, opens links in new tabs. For browsing one of the best and most common buttons is missing on this mouse. Instead when you do a wheel click it changes whether the scrolling is smooth or not. You know, the feature that no one uses more than couple of times per day. So middle click had to be mapped on this little button below the mouse click, which completely breaks the flow and its impossible to remap the wheel click. And probably you could get used to it, if thats you main and only mouse. But since I have a normal mouse at work and at home for another PC - this is an absolute garbage I cant get used to.

Ive been a fan of Logitech mice and keyboards for a long time, and went through a couple of the older MX Anywhere model over the years before buying this MX 2S. I have always liked the MX line because I prefer a small, agile mouse, and find the forward / back side buttons to be so useful that any mouse without them just seems silly. This MX 2S feels like it glides smoother and tracks more precisely than than original MX. The rechargeable batter is also a nice change from the older model using regular batteries, though using it with the cord attached to charge is a little too reminiscent of the old days before wireless mice. Im not interested in any of the document transfer software, so I cant speak to that. Overall, I think this is a great mouse EXCEPT for one annoying flaw. The left and right button clicks are EXTREMELY LOUD. Side by side, the older MX makes a nice and fairly subtle click, while the MX 2S produces a comparatively loud, hollow, almost snapping sound. I had never considered my noise threshold for tolerable computer peripheral sounds, mouse clicks, keyboard strokes, etc., but the MX 2S definitely crosses a line for me where its too loud to ignore as it announces to the room your every mouse decision. Editing something that requires a lot of clicking and double clicking? Apologize in advance to anyone nearby because it gets annoying fast. If everything else about the mouse wasnt so perfect, Id have rated it lower and probably returned it. It really is a great mouse, and Im hoping it will either get a bit quieter as I break in the buttons more, or I just get used to the sound. Or I guess theres always loud music to drown it out.

Grabbed this mouse after seeing the Anywhere 2 on sale, and the old VX Nano was probably my favorite laptop mouse - decided to spend the extra couple bucks on the latest and greatest. Pros - Tracking - Havent tried on glass, but on multiple surfaces (wood, plastic, etc.) tracking is smooth. Size & weight - I know this is a matter of preference, but the size of the 2S is a good size for a laptop mouse, small but not painfully so, and a good weight in a small mouse. Smooth/clicky scroll wheel - user selectable scroll wheel for different applications. Multiple connection methods - havent used Bluetooth yet, I use the mouse across multiple laptops and Im not about to deal with pairing, but good to know I have the option. Cons - USB Receiver - Small enough that its tough to pull out of some USB ports. Also the VX Nano had a slot to store the receiver on the mouse itself. The Anywhere 2S has no such slot. Quality - While not exactly cheap, the 2S doesnt feel as top of the line as the VX Nano. Rubber pads on the sides seem to be a cheaper material, seam in the plastic on the back which isnt perfectly flush, etc. No carrying case

Im simultaneously quite pleased and very disappointed with this mouse. It does many things very well, but those are overshadowed by some truly bizarre design choices that make me wish Id bought a cheaper, saner mouse. tl;dr: -If you dont care about middle-clicking and just really value a mouse with excellent tracking and a long battery life, get this mouse. -If, however, you want an intuitive mouse that works without having to think much about it, keep looking (and skip any Logitech mouse that offers "hyper-fast to click-to-click precision scrolling with a press of the scroll wheel") ----- First, good things: 1) Excellent battery life. Ive used this mouse daily for over two weeks of full 8-hour workdays, and the Logitech Options software still claims the battery is "full." 2) Excellent tracking. I havent tested it on glass, but on any normal table/desk, it tracks perfectly. I dont think Ive ever had a mouse this smooth. 3) Very comfortable. Im susceptible to mild wrist pain with many mice, but havent had problems with this one so far. Its big enough to be comfortable to use all day, yet still compact enough to take on trips. The back/forward buttons on the side are well-positioned. The material of the mouse feels good on my hand and doesnt get slick or gross after several hours of use. ----- So, all good stuff so far. But there are a few things that really ruin it for me: 1) The scroll wheel design is insane. When you press down on the wheel, instead of middle-clicking like pretty much every other mouse, it changes the scrolling mechanics. With one press, the wheel is ratcheted like most mice. With another, the wheel is allowed to freely spin in order to scroll very long documents with ease. Which, I guess is a nice feature? But why lock that function to the scroll wheel? How often do you need to change how you scroll vs middle clicking? And, while I knew this was the default behavior going in, I didnt realize that the scroll wheel button is the one button that CANNOT be customized. It does this one function and that is it. Period. Which is insane in a mouse that is otherwise fully customizable and well-designed. 2) As a consequence of the first point, you kind of need to install the Logitech Options software. Technically, its optional; the mouse is more or less plug and play. But realistically, youll probably want to change some buttons. The scroll wheel can tilt left or right, which defaults to horizontal scrolling, but both can be customized to be middle click, so I can sort of get normal middle click functionality with a little self-retraining. 3) This mouse is LOUD. The buttons make very loud clicks, and when the scroll wheel is ratcheting, thats pretty loud, too. Which, again, is a really weird choice. This is a mouse designed to be used anywhere, which includes, say, a quiet conference room where someone is giving a presentation. I end up using my laptops touch pad in those situations despite it being less comfortable just because I feel like Im drawing attention to myself otherwise. Im not saying the mouse should be utterly silent, but plenty of super cheap mice are much quieter than this one. Hopefully it softens with age and calms down a little. ----- In the end, I wont be returning the mouse, so I guess the good points outweigh the bad. But Im still pretty disappointed in Logitech for this one.

Mouse seems fine mechanically. Ive had about a week. This mouse uses the new Logitech Options software for programming the mouse buttons. I use two programs a lot, Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Autocad. I program the two thumb buttons for these two programs. Unfortunately the Options software keeps forgetting the button settings for Autocad. Logitech support was unable to find a solution. So while I do like this mouse, I will have to return it and go back to the older Anywhere MX mouse that I was using before. It uses the Logitech Setpoint software for custom button settings, and it has worked reliably for years. The old mouse just wore out, so I have to replace it.

I use an older MK710 keyboard and Performance Mouse MX on my doc at work and even older mouse when traveling or un-docked. I purchased this mouse to replace my old travel mouse but sadly, Logitech is not keeping their drivers backwards compatible. I installed the new version 6.90.138 software that came with the mouse and I no longer had access to the older MX mouse and MK710 keyboard settings. Thats a problem. I removed the new drivers and reinstalled version 6.68.250, the most recent that supports my older mouse and keyboard but now, I have no access to the new Anywhere 2S mouse settings. Lame Logitech. If you have no current Logitech gear, this seems to be a good mouse. If you are going to combine this mouse to older stuff, it will not work correctly. Sure, the mouse works but you cant make ANY setting changes (Win10). The one star is for Logitech not supporting, not very much, older keyboards and mouses, mice, meeces.

A few months after ordering this mouse, I absolutely love it. I have a Macbook Pro (2016) and use an HP laptop at work, and I hate keeping track of USB dongles and dealing with incompatibilities between MacOS and Windows. The MX Anywhere has eliminated both problems. Pairing was quick and easy out of the box—I had this mouse up and running on both machines in minutes, and being able to swap between them at the press of a button is incredible. The mouse is responsive, charges quickly, and has excellent battery life. he buttons have good tension and are responsive, but not so "clicky" as to be disturbing in an office setting. Its build quality is also excellent; solid and ergonomic without being too bulky to travel with easily. It also does not suffer from the random disconnects and signal losses that I have experienced with cheaper products. I frequently have 2-3 bluetooth devices connected to my Mac at any given time, so this is important—I dont want my mouse to stop working when I turn on my headphones. I will say that I have experienced a few temporary disconnects when using the mouse with my HP laptop, but this seems to only happen when the driver gets out of date and its a truly miner issue. T Finally, I wasnt expecting to be impressed by Logitech Options, the free software that allows you to customize every aspect of the mouse, but I was. You can change all of the normal things you would expect (scroll speed and direction, button actions, left/right hand setups), but there are many more options for button mapping that vary depending on the operating system, and when you switch from one machine to another the mouse remembers your configurations for each. On my mac, the middle button captures a screenshot and saves it to my clipboard; on my HP, it pastes unformatted text. All that said, the most impressive feature to me is that you can make app-specific button maps as well. The mouse detects whether you are working in a "global" state or within a given app and adjusts all of the button assignments seamlessly. If the options you want arent there, you can simply program a button to execute any keystroke combination you wish. Anyone could find a dozen ways to use the flexibility in this product to improve their workflow. Logitech has created an excellent synergy of hardware and software that is easy to setup and uses and provides value straight out of the box at a great price. Im never going back to cheap mice.

I bought this mouse some 4 months ago, it was smaller than I was expecting but I dont fault then on my mistake of not looking for the size before buying it. The mouse does feel sturdy, but almost a month(some 3 months after purchase) ago the side covers started peeling off [1st image], I though no big deal it must be a bad unit or something so I try to contact support and thats when the horror story began. I had previous contacts with Logitech support about older products, even thought they werent the greatest at least they were available, now their support is non existent. So take in mind that if you buy this product you may not have a way to get any kind of support for it.

I owned the original Anywhere mouse and loved it except for one issue: There was no middle button. When you clicked on the wheel it would just switch between smooth and ratcheted scroll. I do a lot of gaming, so this is a deal breaker for me, and the mouse ended up in a drawer collecting dust. Fast forward almost a decade and I see theres a new Anywhere mouse! I have the MX Master with Logitech Options and was excited because theres a lot more customization available such as disabling smooth scroll completely. Were in the 3rd generation now, so I decide to give the Anywhere 2S a shot....and end up severely disappointed. Its the same mouse, just with a different outer design. 10 years and they havent changed a thing. Theres no middle button and no way to customize the scroll wheel click. Because its lacking this fundamental function, Im returning it and will just keep traveling with my larger mouse. If youre using this for anything else, its a great mouse. The bluetooth connection works great, and Ive never had an issue using these mice on any surface. But if youre using it for gaming or any other program that requires a middle button, keep looking.
