I bought this keyboard/mouse combo about 2 years ago. Almost from day one, I noticed that the keys were hard to push unless my finger came down precisely in the center of the key. Ive never experienced this with another keyboard and Ive used computers heavily for 25 years. If I miss dead center, the keys require a great amount of force to depress. The problem has gotten worse over time, to the point that Im going to replace it. It wont be with another Logitech device. Im a decent typist, but this keyboard is just too difficult to use for touch typing.

My MK710 combo keyboard and mouse arrived a couple of hours ago and I was eager to get it installed. I am very annoyed with the fact that I purchased a new unit and received what clearly appears to be a refurbished unit. The keyboard does not provide any clues that it has been refurbished but the mouse certainly does as evidenced by the attached photos. It is clear from the embedded scratch marks on the slide pads. Additional evidence is the very noticeable lack of dimples on the thumb side. It has the appearance of being severely scrubbed down to remove dirt and grime. My old 4 year old mouse has more dimples remaining than the so called new one even after I have scrubbed it down several times myself. I can say these things with some degree of confidence as I am replacing an MK710 set which is 4 years old and the keys are becoming difficult to depress at times. This is a know trait of this model but Im willing to overlook that. I love the keyboard and mouse. What I dont care for is being shipped a used (refurbished) combo when I went out of my way to avoid purchasing a refurbished unit. I went back and examined the item detail page and nowhere does it state this a refurbished unit. Im not placing blame. Just sharing facts. Check your product carefully when you receive it.

The keyboard work just fine, but the mouse is terrible. From day one it has had scrolling issues. It will not stop scrolling when I stop the wheel. Instead it bounces back to the top. Even worse, as I work with digital blueprints and use the wheel as a zoom function, when I try to stop it at a level I can work with it then takes off by itself and either blows my drawing up or shrinks it to minimum size. Logitech has not returned my emails. Stay away from this one folks...

I am very very very picky about my keyboard and mouse. I spend most of my workday sitting at my computer, so technological comfort is key. But so are the other features: Comfort: Let me say that first. I want a nice wrist rest, I need a good angle of the flipper feet, and the keys have to have a nice feel to them, not too "sharp". This keyboard checks the boxes. Connectivity: I have experienced no key lag. I actually had key lag with a prior Logitech keyboard, and returned it after 1 hour, to Amazon. This keyboard is fine in that respect. Convenience: I like the LED display for battery (not that I have needed to charge it yet, after one week of heavy, heavy, use). The LED is useful for Caps and Number luck. I also like the convenience keys for volume control, including Mute with one-key. Now, the Mouse. I have a Logitech M310 already, and it works flawlessly. I bought this unit, with the notion that I could free up a USB port. The mouse worked fine, as did my prior Logitech mouse. But this one was just... too swanky? I mean, the touch was soooo curvy and aerodynamic or whatever, that it felt *wrong*. Then, theres the weird button below the scroll wheel. I am sure that this button has use to some people, but I felt like it just got in the way of the comfort of using the scroll wheel. I am pleased with my purchase for the keyboard, but the mouse will go in a drawer for a rainy day.

This is my second update. I am leaving the others (below) because they are still valid for the way I plugged the Unifying Receiver into my system. I now have the keyboard working very well and 95% of the mouse scrolling issue has been resolved. How did I do that? Support from the manufacturer of the Dock that I use with my laptop told me that this has been a known Logitech problem with USB 3 interference since 2014. They told me I should use an extender to get the receiver away from any USB 3 devices. So I grabbed the 3 foot USB extension cord that Logitech provided and put the receiver as far away from my dock and laptop as possible. - Logitech markets their "tiny" Unifying Receiver. But putting it on a 3 foot extension cord is not tiny. - I think Logitech could be much more clear about the interference issue, why the extension cord is in the box, and how one should use it. - Logitech product descriptions sound like the keyboard and mouse is a simple plug-and-play. I have wasted hours, trying to get it to perform well. Getting it to work well was not plug-and-play. - Logitech is a major company in keyboards and mice. I think that a known problem since 2014 is deserving of a better engineering solution than putting a 3 foot extension cord in the box and letting the buyer figure what to do with it. Consequently, I am putting my rating back to a 2 Star. Below is my original review. It is still correct when I plug the unifying receiver into the dock for my laptop. However, when I plugged the unifying receiver directly into the laptop, the keyboard has been working very well (for the last 8 hours). I raised the rating 1 star. I did not raise it more because I think this is a poor solution. I think Logitech should develop products that work well though a dock. After all, what is the point of a full size keyboard and mouse, if it is not to use them at home, when the laptop is also the desktop. My laptop (and many others) has only 1 USB-A port. It should not be taken up with a receiver that is necessary for the keyboard and mouse. That is, if I am going to work at home with a full sized keyboard and mouse, I cannot plug anything else (USB-A) directly into my laptop. Further, having the receiver plugged directly into the laptop at home, raises the risk that I will lose it when I take my laptop with me on trips. The mouse works great (except that it is touchy when I am scrolling - it tends to overshoot or scroll back - maybe it is too sensitive to touch). It solved the problem I had with my old Logitech mouse. The keyboard feels great, and I love it when it works. Unfortunately, at times it just decides to take a holiday. I can be typing, pause a moment and it stops working. It takes much longer (pressing keys) to wake it up than it takes for it to decide it needs another holiday. Some times I can take a long pause and it is right there for me when I start typing again. It is very frustrating. I never know when it will stop on me. And when I am trying to get work done, not having a responsive keyboard is very irritating. I did trying updating the Logitech drivers, disconnecting from the unifying receiver and reconnecting, and searching the web for some setting I could configure (or some other bright idea that would stop the problem) but I did not find anything that worked. That was disappointing, because I like it when it works, and would have much preferred to find a way to make it dependable. Like I said in the title, I should have listened to the others who had this problem.

I owned this keyboard and mouse previously (purchased at Best Buy) and decided to replace the one I had for several years. As is so common with Logitech products, the design is superb, but the manufacturing implementation lacked quality. For instance, I owned an expensive Logitech headset (the G35); it had superb sound quality and comfort, but a short drop SHATTERED one of the earpiece hinges, revealing that it was neither plastic nor metal but some CHEAP composite. In a similar sense, the prior MK710 keyboard and mouse combination demonstrated manufacturing shortcomings: 17 keys were no longer readable (and most of them were not keys that were heavily used, so there was no reason for the markings to wear off), most of the keys had lost any tactile feel and become "clunky" on key-press, often sticking or giving a lot of key-bounce; and the side of the mouse where the thumb rests mysteriously developed a hole. That baffled me; was the plastic that thin? Theres no pressure at that location; how was a hole worn through? There have been some obvious redesigns of features. You dont see "On-Off" anymore by the switches for the keyboard and mouse; since I had the older version of the keyboard and mouse, I knew where the settings were. The optical port on the mouse has [thankfully] been redesigned; the old design (recessed) collected dirt, cat hair, and grunge, and often had to be blown out in order to get good mouse performance. The RF link appears to have been redesigned, too -- although I cant prove this -- since the old USB dongle wouldnt work with the new keyboard and mouse. The old software appears to work just fine with the new hardware; I obviously cant verify that battery life will be as good as before, but I have no reason to believe it wont be. Im quite happy with this product... as long as the manufacturing flaws in the earlier version dont resurface.

I have ordered three of these combos in the past 9 months. One for my church (April 2018), one for me (October 2018), and the latest (January 2019) for my wife. The "latest" combo has the M705 mouse, but it is missing the application switcher button AND it cannot be controller/programmed via Setpoint. You have to download an additional application called Logitech Options. This all started about November 2018. Its reported in the Logitech forums. I have filed a complaint with Logitech. This is a "bait and switch". The keyboard appears to be the same.

I like this mouse/keyboard combo and I do not regret buying it. But I thought I would put some information out there that may help people make the best decision for them. If you are planning on gaming with this mouse, beware of a few things: - Clicking the mouse wheel is dubious at best. It works maybe half the time I try it and I have to press it again to ensure it registers. Combined with the looseness of the wheel, you may end up using the wheel whenever you try clicking it. - It cannot send too many button presses/mouse clicks at the same time. If you are using the WASD keys and trying to do multiple clicking, you will find that not all of your inputs get through. Otherwise, I like this combo for most other uses. Portability and battery life are great.

I am not anti-Logitech. I have other products by them that have worked just fine. But for some reason, this combo pack was a bust. The "zero slash closed paren" button has to be pressed extra hard to work. That was an issue that I discovered from the very beginning. And I learned this the hard way when I created passwords that later did not work because pressing the button did not actually engage. I was too lazy to return it for that but now 6 months later, the mouse that came with it has stopped working. I thought it was a dead battery but inserted new batteries only to find it still does not work. I noticed the mouse arrow was starting to drag when I would move the mouse around till eventually it just conked out. On a positive note, I used this with my a Macbook. While it works, be aware that the buttons combos are geared toward Windows machines so you have to figure out the combos that will work with your MAC such as when you want to select all text and copy and paste.

The keyboard has a nice overall feel to it. The keys type well, and are rather quiet compared to others. The keyboard raises up to 2", with a soft built-in mat for your wrists, quite comfortable. The mouse has good weight to it and tracks nicely. My keyboard and mouse are 8-10 feet away from the wireless unit, with no visible lag at all. In fact, Im currently on my couch with the keyboard in my lap, comfy! My wifi router is 3 feet away from the wireless unit, with no interference with the keyboard and mouse. The battery life is, advertised to be, 6-10 years. For a couple AA and AAA batteries, it seems quite a run, only time will tell. Ive owned a wireless combo many moons ago, I can say now the wireless technology has jumped by leaps and bounds. These are a great bang for your buck combo. I can confidently say my money was well spent.
