I wanted a compact travel mouse for use with a notebook which has limited USB ports so I have been looking for the perfect Bluetooth solution. I have tried a couple of different Bluetooth mice already but I wanted something smaller. The description on Amazon mentions the word "compact" and states the size is "2 x 3 x 1 in" so when the Logitech M535 arrived I was surprised to see it was closer to 4 inches long and not much smaller than a regular full size mouse. The mouse works great and paired immediately. It has a good weight and feel but the size is not quite what I expected so only 4 stars. I have attached a picture alongside my Logitech M187 mini mouse to show the difference in size.

Im very torn between whether to give this mouse a 5-star review. I like everything about it: comfort, usability, stability, responsiveness. The size of this is perfect for my hand size. Its compact to fit in small pockets and sizable enough to fill my hand, preventing cramping up. The mouse connects very easily and seamlessly connects to my MacBook (when its the only one of its kind registered to it, see more info lower in my review). Battery life was decent-- I never paid attention to how long batteries lasted but I would say something like 3 weeks? Given this is a travel mouse, the build quality feels nice and solid, The buttons have a nice click to them. Ive had other travel mice made by Logitech, and this feels like a step up from the quality they usually have (already pretty solid). I tend to set my mouse responsiveness pretty high (my co-workers, who have had to commandeer my mouse a few times, would agree with me!) the overall responsiveness is pretty fast and quick, too. No jittering or lagging. Probably enough to play a decent game if you happened to forget your usual gaming mouse. Hang-Ups: I decided a few months later to buy another one for when Im at work (I kept forgetting to pack my mouse!) The connectivity gets weird when you have 2 mouses (mice? meese?) registered with the same laptop. Whenever Id bring the alternate mouse to work, Id have to put the mouse back into search mode, and reconnect it. Again, this is due to me being forgetful and needing a second one in the first place! So heres my biggest hang-up: my first one died after 2 1/2 years of use. Im honestly not sure if this is even valid, as Ive only had a few travel bluetooth mice in my time, but my very first one (also made by Logitech) is at least 7 years old, and it still works like the first day I got it (although its just not as good as this one). 2 1/2 years sounds awfully short for a mouse, though. In the end, Im very tempted to buy yet another one for work (to replace the one that died). Still havent decided.

I initially rated this mouse a 1-star because it kept disconnecting every few moments. After troubleshooting for a while (and reading through various reviews and comments on the internet regarding this mouse), I think Ive found the problem and have amended my review: The dropped connection issue that a lot of people are experiencing are not because of the mouse, but rather because of Windows. Windows 10 (in order to save power), has a default setting to cut power to Bluetooth devices when they are not in use. So, if you are using the mouse, then take your hand away for more than a few seconds, Windows thinks youre not using the mouse anymore and cuts power to it. When you go to pick up the mouse again, it takes a few moments for the power to reconnect. Extremely annoying. So, RIGHT-Click over the START button, select DEVICE MANAGER > BLUETOOTH > INTEL WIRELESS BLUETOOTH. Right-click, go to PROPERTIES and POWER MANAGEMENT, un-check the button that allows windows to cut power to bluetooth devices. This solved my problem and the mouse has been working perfectly since.

Bought a second Logitech M535 after spilling coffee all over the first one. After I ordered the new one, I took the old one apart (it had sat to dry for a couple days at this point) and took a can of air to the PCB, specifically blowing the liquid out from between the PCB and the buttons. Once whatever liquid was gone that had been shorting out the buttons the mouse worked fine. As far as usability and comfort, this mouse isnt too bad. I have large hands and this is about the smallest mouse I would find comfortable. The scroll wheel is much more responsive than my old MS BT mouse and the glide pads are nice and smooth on just about any surface. My old MS BT mouse wouldnt work at all on our white table, but this one doesnt have an issue with the semi-gloss white surface. I dont really use the tilt functions on the mouse wheel or the Navigation button (the square button in the center), so cant give much feedback on those. We tried pairing the new M535 to my wifes laptop and it wouldnt pair. Discovered in the process that she is still running Windows 8.1?! The older (just over 12 months old) M535 paired just fine with Windows 8.1, so something must have changed since these first came out. I had to try a couple times to get the new mouse to pair with my Windows 10 laptop, but once it is connected it doesnt lose connection. Connectivity issues are the only reason I can find to knock off any stars on this product. Battery life seems decent. I might have changed the battery (it uses one AA) 3 times at most in the last year, but then, I do turn it off every time I am done using it.

The left button of my M535 is malfunctioning after 8 months of use. It worked well for about 5 months, then I started to notice that it was not selecting the entire string of letters and deleting multiple messages on the Mail program when it is supposed to delete only one message at the time (I am using a Mac). I reached out to Logitech two times asking for a replacement (1-year warranty). During the second call, they said my case was escalated and I would get an email with instructions, but I am still waiting for that email and am very disappointed with their customer service. 05/31/18 update: Logitech reached out via email asking me to send pictures of the product along with SN information. It took 2 days to submit the information via email but they shipped another product which should arrive in the next few days. Im hopeful it will be a brand new device and that it wont have the same issue.
