I waited a week to review this keyboard, because I wanted to be certain that the solar power actually works reliably. I’ve been using this at work ten-ish hours per day for a week now and I haven’t had any trouble. The solar power seems to work as well as if this were a wired keyboard, except that there isn’t an ugly cable on my desktop. The BT connection has been flawless too, much better than my stupid Apple Magic Mouse that requires CPR every morning. I love the touch and functionality of this keyboard. My only complaint (which is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5) is that there’s no indicator for CAPS LOCK. This has caused some zany hijinks in fields like password entries where I can’t tell whether I’m typing in caps or not. I suppose this is a power saving feature, but c’mon! The setup for me was kind of non-standard. I plugged in the little USB BT nubbins and it recognized the keyboard right away. Later on I downloaded and installed the companion app (Logitech Control Center), but the Unifying USB service doesn’t see the keyboard. The keyboard is working fine, but the Logitech utility doesn’t recognize it. This means I can’t monitor the power level. There’s also a Solar App referenced in the user manual, but the link redirects to the product’s page and there isn’t a download for it. Anyway, the keyboard is awesome (except for the CAPS LOCK thing) even if I can’t get the companion software to do its thing. It would be more crucial, I guess, if I were having power issues, but I’ve been able to just plug and play and forget about any configuration issues. The keyboard just works. Oh by the way, I think theres something supernatural about indoor solar products. The restrooms in my office have solar powered automatic faucets that run from the lights in the room. I think were causing a rift in the space/time continuum by doing this, but Ill leave it up to future generations to sort out the consequences.

This is an excellent keyboard- provided you dont normally keep your keyboard tucked under a monitor stand like I do. I actually have the windows-version of this same design for my computer at work and absolutely love it. Its low profile, slim, lightweight, super easy to tuck away, and battery-free (I really hate changing batteries). Thus, when I was getting a new setup for a new computer at home (a MacBook Pro laptop that I will hook up to a larger monitor for project work sometimes) I wanted to get a nice keyboard that fit all of my criteria for common-use. This one does :-) You will see in other reviews mentions of the "bubbles" in the solar panels of the keyboard- this is actually quite common in these style of solar sensors, and I have one on my work keyboard, and a smaller one on this mac one I purchased. There are 4 or so other keyboards of this same design at work and none of them have the bubble effect, however, so you may not have it. There is no functional problem with it at all- its just not absolutely perfect and would have to be called a slight manufacturing defect. Im normally someone who is an extreme perfectionist, but Ive been able to get over the bubbles on both of my keyboards- its something you barely see because its a dark spot on a dark solar sensor, doesnt effect anything, and your keyboard will get dirty with other things, like dust and micro debris from you using it- that bothers me a lot more than the bubble does. That said, I expect this Mac version to show dust a lot less being mostly silver- the windows version is gloss black and shows every tiny speck (its a bit irritating). I am very pleased with my purchase, I just have to remember to pull the keyboard out from under my monitor stand to charge every now and then (and the handy power-check button on the keyboard near the power switch is excellent for me to check that it is charged or not).

This worked well for approximately 24 hours after I removed it from the box. Then it started randomly disconnecting and refusing to reconnect, typing multiple letters and numbers, and generally being a giant useless mess. Thankfully it was still within the return period so I was able to return it. This is also not like the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (besides the fact that it does not connect via bluetooth and requires a USB dongle) visually or tactilely. Keyboard is plastic and has a silver colored finish but it does not feel as sturdy as the aluminum keyboard from Apple. Also, the keys are taller and have a slight curve to them that makes typing not as comfortable. The keyboard (because it has so many extra keys) is also significantly larger than the Apple keyboard (both top to bottom and side to side) so it takes up a lot more desk space. Overall, Id recommend an original Apple wired keyboard with the numeric keyboard over this mess. Dont waste your time or money.

Ive had a Logitech wireless keyboard and trackball running on the same unified receiver on my PC for years without any issues at all. When my company issued me a Macbook, I promptly ordered a Logitech wireless trackball for it and Ive used it at the same desk as the PC (within inches of the Logitech keyboard and the other trackball of the same model) for over a year without issue. I recently rearranged my L-shaped workspace to accommodate a second monitor on the Macbook and I decided I liked raising the laptop up to the same height as the big monitor. Problem is, that made the keyboard impractical. Besides, I like having the number pad and I just really hate the feel of the Macbook keyboard. Enter the Logitech wireless keyboard. I was so excited to get this keyboard and as soon as I connected it, I was in LOVE. The size is perfect, the feel of the keys is perfect, its solar powered so the battery will never die...whats not to love? A couple of hours in, the honeymoon was over. I was typing away and suddenly nothing was showing up on the screen...then suddenly huge strings of random characters showed up...then nothing...then partial words and letters all out of order. After using this keyboard for several months, Ive figured out that its ok (mostly) when its on its own receiver. With the keyboard and trackball on separate receivers (taking up two precious USB ports on my hub!) I can go for a week or so without having to unpair the keyboard and re-pair it. With the two devices on the same receiver, I have to unpair/re-pair daily, at least. And, of course, every time Apple or my company pushes some kind of update, the OS randomly decides to connect both devices to the same receiver again. Taking the keyboard alone, Id probably say 4 or 5 stars because its about the only option that had everything I wanted and it really is awesome when its behaving. Im seriously disappointed that it misbehaves so often when used with another Logitech device, especially since I have experience using multiples together without issue so I know thats not supposed to be a thing.

I bought this keyboard, even though I didnt like the idea of it not having a caps-lock light. But I read they that Logitech has software for their solar devices that will notify you on screen when the caps lock is used. Better than nothing, so I bought it. However, THAT software is obsolete for a Mac desktop computer (from what I can tell). I posted in their forum asking if someone could help with why their software has no functions on a Mac, but my post has been sitting there for a week with no reply from customer service. What also doesnt work (within the software) is the battery usage. Basically, all their software is good on a Mac, is for telling you what keyboard youre using. The keyboard feels good, and (aside from #7 on the number pad needing more pressure than the rest of the keys), its been problem free for a week. I dont work under a lot of light, but havent yet had an issue with the charge going out. I move it to a more lit area when not in use. But again, the software does not have any features on a Mac Pro computer (desktop Mac) using HighSierra.

Today we received our second unit of this specific keyboard. Last year I paired this keyboard with the raised swivel stand for the perfect set up on my desk for my MacBook Pro laptop. When I got a new assistant, I immediately purchased the same two piece set up for her. The two together are the perfect match. It allows you to get your laptop up off of your office desktop so that you have more space for your files and writing. The styling and the pairing is ingenius. Everyone in my office passes by and makes remark. They all want one. What do I love about this keyboard? I truly love the fact that it never needs batteries. You save a ton on replacement batteries just as I read in the other recommendations. I have owned the first one since last year and have no issues whatsoever with the keyboard this entire time. It comes with a dongle that you plug into one of your USB ports and you unwrap it and turn it on. Its that easy. For my Mac there was no elaborate set up. As soon as I turned it on my Mac "found" the signal and we were off and running. Your overhead florescent lights keep it continually charged. All these months and its never run out of power. The funny thing is I dont even think about it; kind of like the old plug in kind. I love the attached number keyboard. It is so convenient. My Mac doesnt have a number keyboard to the right like my Windows laptop did. It was just something I was so used to using that this keyboard was necessary for me just for that. The rest was a bonus. I bought this after reading other users recommendations and they were right on. BUY THIS PRODUCT. It is most definitely worth every penny. If my review helped influence your decision in any way, please feel free to mark that its been useful.

Battery is not replaceable and unable to hold a charge after two years. Update: I bought another one because I like this keyboard a lot. It’s way better than the wireless one that came with my iMac. The second one has worked perfectly for a little over two years now. The first one started acting up after about 18 months, then died 6 months later. This one seems like it might last.

First keyboard would not type correct symbols, the comma and period keys typed colons and semicolons instead, the shift+number symbols were totally off. Went through Logitechs forums and did every possible fix I could find, still wouldnt work. I assumed it was an issue with just my keyboard, so I ordered a replacement. Replacement through Amazon had the exact same issues. I submitted a ticket through Logitech to see if they could troubleshoot the problem, it took 4 weeks, dozens of emails, and finally a ranty call-out to their company on Twitter before I got any kind of helpful response. Still no fix for the keyboard, but Logitech sent me a new one from their factory (not through Amazon). Well see if the issue is resolved. *I used my keyboard(s) with a Macbook Pro, when I hooked it up to a friends PC the symbols worked fine. But, as this keyboard is specifically FOR Macs...yeah, not very helpful. Both faulty keyboards returned. Beware in ordering this.

I purchased this keyboard to use with a Mac Mini after pricing some similar offerings from Apple and other manufacturers. I chose this because I was able to free up a USB port by using it in conjunction with a Logitech mouse that shares a unifying receiver. Im usually not a huge fan of wireless keyboards but I guess the solar charging panels made the difference for me, even though it does a little gimmicky. The overall design is nice and it feels pretty similar to the official keyboards being offered, the keys have a slight texture to them which I like, and its not quite as flimsy as some of the extremely cheap Logitech keyboards available. Full number pad and true Apple keyboard layout are somewhat rare in third party keyboards like this, too. Keys are quiet and fairly smooth, pretty similar really to the Apple-branded keyboards. Seems like a decent middle-of-the-road choice, as long as it holds up. One issue is that there seems to be some assembly inconsistencies in the cover over the solar panel area, seems like it was either smashed during shipping somewhat or the top layer of the keyboard is a little bit off or warped (see photo). Its not a huge deal for me, as it just seems to be a cosmetic issue, but probably cost this a five-star review.

I wanted a keyboard with the same three Ctrl Opt and Cmd key placements without spending over $100+ for Apples Magic Keyboard. But this was a big disappointment. - Severe lag when hitting a key (and especially a combination of keystrokes) and the character or function actually working on the computer. I figured the little USB plug-in thing would work perfectly but it just didnt. - Keystrokes do not feel Apple-like. I know that people roll their eyes at how obsessively Apple designs the feel an sound of its keyboards, but man this Logitec keyboard subtly felt like it was harder to push each key, yet there was not the same satisfying "click." Each time you press a key it feels a little mushy. - The overall look is big, bulky and clunky. its quite ugly. Im typing this from my new Magic Keyboard and it feels great. I typically need to replace keyboards once every 3-5 years. As much as I dont want to spend that money, I think its worth it.
