Everybody in my house had a new keyboard except me, so I was on the lookout. I thought I wanted something backlit, and probably with those Cherry brand mechanical keys. Then I took a class at my local community college where this style keyboard was in use and realized I need look no further. My hands are large, I wear size 8 gloves (where sizes are used) and my old keyboard did not have space for all my fingers. This one does have room for my hands, its great not to be crowded. The whole effect is neat and tidy, and I am enjoying my purchase.

I was looking for a solid, simple keyboard that looked good, felt great and had media control keys. This is just the ticket. When Im not traveling I want to put my ThinkPad in a docking station, which might mean that I would lose certain functionality with the lid closed. Fortunately, the Dell KB216 has dedicated mute and volume + & - keys. Great if you listen to music or do video conferencing. Most of the keyboards available with separate media keys look the spaceship Enterprise, with weird curves and LEDs all over the place. This keyboard is minimalistic black and white with just a few tasteful light blue highlights. It can lay flat or pop up at an angle and the typing feel is excellent. To me it rivals the legendary ThinkPad keyboard feel, which is important. I cant stand loud, clacky keys. Overall a great choice.

I have a spare computer at my fiances parents house. I needed a cheap keyboard with low profile keys. The keyboard needed to be under $20 (because the one I use with my main computers was not much more expensive and that means I dont want to feel regrets about that purchase). The keyboard also needed to have a spacebar that didnt sound like a bomb went off when I hit the spacebar, or require immense force to actuate from the left side. This keyboard does everything I need it to. Its a tiny bit loud for a chiclet keyboard with (probably) rubber dome switches, but its so much better than the last keyboard I tried in every way including sound that I still love it. Of course, anything is better than the used keyboard from work, which was an early 2000s (or older) Dell keyboard of some sort that was preloaded with west Texas dust, some crumbs, coffee, and muffin remnants. NOTE: Its still quieter than my fiance using his mechanical keyboard. Ive also only had this keyboard for about a month, so I dont really know how durable it is. I also dont usually tend to break my electronics, even ones that usually break for other people.

You cant use more than 2 keys at once and it disallows you to press W+Shift+Spacebar so shooters like Counter-Strike, Battlefield, etc. are unplayable. So if you want to jump and climb things you jump while standing still and have to stand still in front of a ledge to climb. Very bad keyboard.

Nice little keyboard, but Im having trouble getting used to the tight key spacing. In the long run, maybe it makes it easier to do long stretches, like Function - F5, but Im constantly finding myself having to correct errors or mysteriously hitting control when I go for shift, so weird things happen. I dont have large hands, so people who do might find it even tighter than I do. I do like the audio controls. Something I value. But Im going to go keyboard shopping again.

I had an older Dell keyboard that I needed to replace because it had pretty much worn out and was difficult to clean. This one fits the bill and was affordable. I didnt need a fancy wireless keyboard with a bunch of features. It is also smaller and doesnt have as much plastic frame around the keys that my older keyboard did. The only minor drawback is that I found there is a learning curve to learn this keyboard versus the older Dell one. But I realize things change and I just have to make adjustments which I have done for the most part. I dont feel like this is enough of an issue to subtract a star. Because every keyboard isnt made the same and I think you would have to learn the differences if you switched to a different one.

I bought this to replace an old Windows keyboard at work. Unfortunately, the keyboard lacks raised finger rests on the F and J keys so I find myself glancing down at the keyboard numerous times during the day to locate the correct keys. This is the first keyboard (other than iPad) where I’ve experienced this - and I find it disconcerting. I use an under desk slide out tray to hold the keyboard and was surprised that the shadow cast by the desk also makes reading the keys difficult. I’ve reluctantly been forced to revert to the original clunker keyboard until I can find a suitable replacement.

I see now that other reviewers have mentioned this, but the keyboard has issues with pressing more than 2 keys at once. For example, you cannot press W, Shift, and Space Bar at the same time and have them all register. For PC gaming this is absolutely unacceptable. 1 star because even in a cheap keyboard, this seems like a very strange limitation - one Ive never run into with other cheap keyboards. I will concede that it seems otherwise well-built, comfortable, and quiet.

This is the best keyboard of all time, at least for the price. I love chiclet keys, they are so much easier to type on, and are much quieter than normal keys. The layout of these keys is perfect for me. All too often its difficult to find a keyboard that lays out the keys in this layout, particularly with the Home/End keys and the Function Keys spacing. I love the feel of the keys and I feel I type much faster with this. To note -- this is my second one of these keyboards. My first one lasted a bit over a year before the little bumps on the F and J keys whittled down to nothing, which is why I was looking to replace it. I use a keyboard extensively every day, so your mileage would likely be much longer, however that is the only problem I had with the previous one.

The KB216P is great, but the KB216T which is what I got with this order is garbage. It transposes keys very frequently. (It seems to have a 62Hz scan rate!)
