This could easily be a five star rating if they made only one change, IT SHOULD BE BACKLIT!!!!! Why oh why, in this day and age is this keyboard NOT backlit??? IF they made this keyboard backlit, I would pay three times the price for it!!! This product is almost perfect. It has great build quality, the chiclet style keys are easy to type on, and well spaced. They did a nice job of making the rear stainless steel, so it has great rigidity, and the design looks beautiful. It is thin, yet strong, has all the functions I could want, and even has a normal number pad. When you throw in the price, it is ALMOST the perfect keyboard. BUT ITS NOT BACKLIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY? Every forum I have visited in the last five years, most of the people are complaining because nobody makes a 2.4ghz wireless, thin chiclet style keyboard, which has a normal number pad and is backlit. It just doesnt exist. And this company got sooooo close, but inevitably just had to leave out one of the most important options... Its a shame. I love everything else about this keyboard, and would like to give it a higher rating, but Im so disappointed that they dont offer it with backlighting, that I cant go beyond three stars. Please Arteck, make this exact keyboard with backlighting. UPDATE: I will say that the company was kind enough to send me a free wireless keyboard and mouse. And they have been prompt in their correspondence. They are very hands on to try to make up for the shortcomings of the original keyboard I purchased.

This keyboard has gotten a lot of five star reviews and I dont dispute what others have to say. It is a nice looking keyboard and it connected easily to my computer. The battery works as promised and it seems solid. Still, after using it for a week or so, it just still feels awkward and uncomfortable to type on. I thought I would get used to it, but I havent. The keys are really slick, which I dont like at all, and they seem a bit too close together. Maybe Im just used to keyboards with a bit more space (I used the Logitech solar keyboard for a long time until a few keys stopped working and thought Id try something else). In any case, I decided that this just isnt the right keyboard for me and Im going back to the Logitech keyboard.

I just received this keyboard, and Im scratching my head a bit as to how it received so many 5 star reviews. I recently bought a Logitech K780 silent keyboard, and while I was very happy with the typing, noise (or lack there of) and overall quality, I was not happy with the configuration. To make it more compact, they eliminated some dedicated keys I use often (mainly the HOME & END buttons). For that reason, I went searching for another silent keyboard, and was persuaded into buying this one because of all the glowing reviews. First of all, the quality between the 2 is night and day. When handling and typing on the 2 keyboards, its clear which is the high quality, well made keyboard, and which will likely fall apart in a year or 2. The key strokes on the Arteck just have a very cheap feeling. But more importantly, its not very quiet. Sure, its a bit quieter than a standard keyboard, but not nearly as quiet as the Logitech. I need a quiet keyboard so when Im on the phone with clients, they dont hear me typing away as they talk to me. Not only can that be distracting for them, but I also dont want them to know Im taking notes at certain points. With the logitech, that was possible. It was truly quiet. Whereas with the Arteck, I am literally annoyed right now at the noise level of my clicks as I write this review. Im going to give it a few more days to be fair, but Im likely going to return it by the end of the week. If youre looking for a cheap, wireless, semi-quiet keyboard, then this might be your answer. But if youre looking for a good quality, truly silent keyboard, I recommend continuing your search as I plan on doing. Just remember, you get what you pay for.
