One of the big reasons I will always head to Amazon Basics first is that Amazon will stand behind the items. Today, the mouse and keyboard arrived and I was very disappointed to see that the mouse was not in one piece. The keyboard was in great shape but the mouse was broken into three pieces. Five minutes in chat, mouse is refunded, another is ordered, and Im happy. These are basic items, just as the name implies. If you are looking for a specific keyboard, or a specific size mouse, dont order these and then complain. The mouse is compact and the keyboard is not a large one. But they both function the way they are supposed to. On top of that, you have Amazon behind them, so if theres a problem, hit that chat button and take care of it. This is the second keyboard and mouse combo Ive purchased from them, and Ill do it again. Im hard on both and these last just as long as other keyboard/mouse combos that are twice as much.

I simply love this keyboard. The keyboard that came with my HP i7 desktop computer was horrible. I just purchased it four months ago and hated the way the keyboard was set up. The delete, home, end, page up/down keys were not in the same place they were on any keyboard Ive had in the last in over 20 years. Then the mouse stopped working. I received this keyboard just a few hours ago and it is addictive. Im in love once again. The keyboard and the mouse are responsive. They do what I want. They dont have their own agenda. I type faster. Before I thought Id lost my speed and my accuracy. And its low priced to boot. Imagine a functional, in love with brand new keyboard A N D a mouse for less than $15. Where else can you find such a deal? Get it before its gone Did I purchase a warranty? No. Not for this price. Even should it fail, I will have more than gotten my monies worth.

I really enjoy the flat chiclet style keys, it reminds me of the keys on my macbook which I have always found to be comfortable to use and silent enough not to bother me. Over a few months of use I think it has bent a little bit so it doesnt lie perfectly flat on my desk but it isnt significant enough for me to notice while typing, only when I closely examine the board. My only complaint is the use of a function key to operate media controls, could easily have received their own keys. Having a function key for only four functions seems like a waste to me and are in general annoying anyway, the end result is that I just dont use them. The mouse is good, I like that the scroll wheel is smooth and not clicky sounding but you can still feel the articulations as you turn it. I have large hands and my wrist sits on the table when holding the mouse. Im used to this, but if you also have large hands and that bothers you this might not be for you. For the combo price I dont think you could do better. I use these for everyday use and for gaming and dont have any issues with them.

a bit ago, my laptop keyboard shorted out , and i spent 20 bucks on a keyboard that squeaked when you typed and the space bar got stuck in on itself. i dont eat over my keyboard, so there was nothing to cause that old keyboard to do that, it was a design flaw in a cheap product that they sold for four times the amount it was worth. it was something youd expect to findin five below NOT THIS KEYBOARD. they keys have weight to them they take effort to press down so youre not accidentally hitting doubles of every key you type. ssoo tthhinggss dontt looook likee thiss. anymore. the space bar feels like its socketed into bar beneath it rather than a single circular slot that the bar teeter totters on allowing it to get stuck in the socket the keys DONT SQUEAK when you type setting your teeth on edge. my only real complaint is HOW i type, theres not alot of space at the left bottom corner for my wrist to rest on. i type with the keyboard angled so up to the right. bit straight on so im always hitting the control button. butthats not a problem i havent had with other keyboards so im not going to complain i do it all the time so its no biggie. the mouse is on the smaller side im used to them being bulkier in the palm. but it doesnt have a short in it out of the box (like the other set) so ill endure it. i am very satisfied with this set and will buy again for my older computer that has a similar problem with the keyboard highly recommend to everyone.

This is a two piece set with a keyboard and mouse, as described. Upon closer inspection, this is a chiclet keyboard like you might find on some laptops. They are small keys, inset into the face of the keyboard with the rubber dome type inputs for the keys. The keys themselves are a light plastic and are fairly responsive. Im writing this review on it right now, in fact. Its about the same quality as any budget keyboard, with decent quality plastic. Obviously, you arent buying this keyboard because you want the very best, you are buying it because youre on a budget and want something of decent quality. I think you get that with this set, as I find typing on it isnt too bad, and it is fairly responsive. The keys are spaced nicely and doesnt feel cramped. You get all of the keys you would expect. The escape key isnt too different from the rest of the keys and not spaced away from them, so it may be an issue to some, but is otherwise perfectly useful. Becuase of the size of the keyboard, some of the keys are perhaps closer than some might like compared to a full sized and full featured keyboard. The F keys are quite small, but if youre like me, they dont really matter too much. The extra keys, like the My Computer key, calculator key, and they media player key are decently useful and the addition of volume controls and a mute button are also nice. The Amazon Basics logo is unobtrusive. The num Lock key has an LED light to let you know it is on, as does the caps lock key. I found all the keys worked just fine. There is not a lot of surface outside of the keys, which could be a benefit or not, depending on your style of use. I find that it sits pretty flat. There are no flip out risers, so the small ledge at the top end is about as raised as this keyboard is going to get. The rubber feet underneath the keyboard keep the keyboard pretty well in place. I have no found no real fault or issues with this keyboard except for possibly the styling. This makes a pretty good backup keyboard in case your high performance one suddenly goes bad and you have work to get done. I even use it for gaming, where it isnt the utmost in performance as far as key presses go, but is perfectly serviceable for the majority of users. I have no experienced any real ghosting issues, but Im not likely to. The mouse that comes with this set seems prettys solidly built. It tracks well, has all your basic buttons, and while perhaps not the most ergonomic mouse I have ever used, it is very functional. The scroll wheel works well and both buttons click very positively without issue. My kids and wife use it on the family computer the most and they have no complaints. In fact, the fancy Razer Tron mouse they used to have on that computer stopped working correctly due to the infamous razer clicking problem. The best thing is that it just works without any need for fancy drivers or software. The kids use it fine with their games as well. Weve been using these two items for a couple of months now, and they have held up very well. They are very reliable and work just fine for most computing uses. For the price, this is a winning combination for most computer users. The only people I would not recommend this to is your hardcore gamer, as it will probably wear a bit fast in the usual areas and it is just a dome input so it isnt the best for extremely fast responses, and the key blandness might cause some confusion if you are the type to use a wide variety of keys.

02/03/19 i ordered the amazonbasics keyboard & mouse combo on may 2018. i will mostly speak about the keyboard. the mouse was simply a "bonus" for me to keep as a spare. the keyboard is what im typing on right now. it works well. i play games like daggerfall, 7 days to die, the sims 3, & warframe. it works great on all of em. however, theres the issue of rollover / nkey. it doesnt have good rollover. i noticed recently. im surprised that it hasnt affected my gameplay (im not competitive, so that may be why). the wasd keys are on their own circuit, but the rest are restricted to a measly 2 keys. i noticed recently when messin with a midi keyboard app. thatll be the only reason im looking for a new keyboard. the boards durable enough. i havent been abusive to it, but there are no defects after 6 months. the keys all do the job. the sound is ok -- not loud. size? full size but not huge. its got a number pad. good. i like the placement of the media keys -- specifically, the volume controls on the top-right. i briefly used the mouse. its smaller than the logitech that i use, but it feels good. it has an unusual, almost-rubbery feel to it. its hard to accurately describe, but it feels good lol. the sensitivity is a good setting (you dont really need one MEEElion dpi for gaming). again, the only issue with it was the size -- its small. tl;dr keyboard good. good mouse. good good. cheap. buy? very value. ..seriously, its great for the price.

Man.. the more I use this keyboard the more I love it. I recently re-ordered the Dell KM714 Wireless keyboard for my work keyboard because its wireless and the battery life on that set is awesome. However, after a while of being at home and using my Amazon basics keyboard, now Im seriously considering buying this keyboard for work and retiring the wireless one. I so wish that Amazon made this same exact keyboard in a wireless version. Amazon!! Please! Please! Pretty please make a wireless version!! Many wireless keyboards or keyboards in general these days also dot have a caps lock key light. Which to me is a luxury. Even though this key board is more clackety-clackety than the Dell one I ordered, the spacing of the keys means that for me this keyboard is far more accurate and Im a much faster typer on this keyboard than the Dell. Just love it!

I was using a mechanical keyboard that made me have to type at an angle, and the keys had some resistance going down. I didnt care until I noticed that I was having some hand pain. Fearing it might be carpal tunnel, I ended up doing a bunch of hand stretches, and also replaced by keyboard with the amazon basics keyboard I was using before. I think the stretches helped fix damage that was done, and using the keyboard prevented any further damage from building up. My room mate was also developing hand problems, and I brought an amazon basics keyboard for him and told him to use it to help with his hand problems. He said his hand problems are gone too. So, Im not going to claim that this keyboard fixes hand problems because it could have in fact been a coincidence as me and my room mate were both trying other things to fix our hand issues. But shortly after we switched to the amazon keyboards, our issues were gone, so it *could* be the case that this keyboard helps prevent hand issues for some people.

The Amazon keyboard feels and handles very well - way better than conventional PC keyboards. For the money, complete no-brainer. Few things I do want to mention: - the keyboard may be slightly wobbly even when on a completely flat surface. You can easily solve that by grabbing the keyboard and gently twisting. Worked great afterwards. - the keyboard is very slim, and does not consume excessive real estate on your desk. - sadly there are no gaps between F4/F5 and F8/F9. So if you are used to keyboard shortcuts such as Alt+F4, the gaps on legacy keyboards are no longer there to guide you. Minor annoyance however. Overall, I highly recommend the Amazon keyboard!

I just got this today and found that the left/right buttons were not clicking. However, when I checked another Amazon mouse I had bought 3 months ago, I saw the problem. Below the 2 buttons is where the cords comes out. Just above the cord but below the buttons is a small rubber piece that holds down the cord and should sit flush to where the buttons push down. My buttons didnt work because the small rubber piece was push up less than a 1/8 of an inch and kept the buttons from clicking down. I used the flat side of a very small screw driver and was able to push the rubber piece back down on top of the cord. The buttons can now be clicked. This tells me that who ever makes these (china?), do not do much sample quality control checking.
