Not a bad combo for the price, but I dont find the keys particularly easy to use as they sit up too high. Seems like they were going for a low profile style keyboard but missed the mark since the keys protrude up too high. I also have the Logitech MK120 keyboard and mouse combo and I find both the keyboard and mouse in that setup to be superior and theyre typically the same price or one or two dollars more ... I would suggest going with that. I only got this Amazon combo based on the reviews and wanting to try something else to see if it was better. Its not in my opinion, stick with Logitech. The shiny keyboard is a nice concept, but just like a shiny black car its always looking dusty and dirty so in reality not a great idea.

I needed another keyboard and mouse after purchasing a refurbished Dell Optiplex 960 from Amazon for general home use. As a rule, refurbs arent sold with monitor, keyboard or mouse. After 5 months, Ive decided it is a 4-star keyboard and a 2-star mouse. KEYBOARD LIKES: * Feel & touch of keys: The keys have a nice touch to them, with low "stickyness" and just the right amount of resistance. * "Plate-style" case: the keys are placed in individual slots on the keyboard, which prevents dust from getting between the keys. KEYBOARD DISLIKES: * The shortcut keys (music player, volume up/dn, calculator) are too close to the keyboard and 10-key. I have accidentally brought up the music player and calculator so many times I ended up super-gluing their shortcut keys in place. * The Function keys are spaced evenly instead of groupings of 4 (F1-F4, F5-F8, F9-F12) and placed too close to the top row. * The shortcut keys I would use most (play, stop, next track, last track) are combined with Function keys F9-F12, which is not so convenient. With the music and calculator keys glued in place, the nice touch of the keys is what stands out most. It is a very good value. MOUSE LIKES: * The left and right clicks have a nice feel, as does the wheel. The clicks are more sensitive than with other mice Ive used. * The satin finish looks good and feels nice to the touch. MOUSE DISLIKES * I am constantly right-clicking by accident, interrupting mouse control or invoking commands I had not intended. It is so annoying that it drove me to write this review. In 25 years of PCs I have never had this much trouble with a mouse. Im not certain why the right-clicks are so hard to avoid, but I think it must be related to the lower profile of this mouse. As per the attached photo, a side view shows how the Amazon has less of a "hump" than my ASUS mouse and my Logitech wireless mouse. I think that somehow this causes the muscles controlling my right-click (ring) finger to fatigue and slip. Its just a theory, but there is no doubt about the accidental right-clicks - they are a prominent feature for me. Other folks, a musician for example, may have little or no trouble with this, or they may have even more for all I know. 3.5 stars is closer to the mark for this combo; the feel of both keyboard and mouse are very good and the keyboard does not collect dust under the keys. With the noted problems addressed it could easily be a 5-star combo and an unbeatable value.

USB mice and keyboards are such ubiquitous products these days that I didnt really think twice when ordering this for my workbench. The keyboard works about as well as you would expect a cheap, corded USB keyboard to work. I really like the way that instead of including folding hinged supports to hold the keyboard at a comfortable angle, they simply molded the proper angle into the keyboard itself. Nothing to collapse or break off - good show! Wish I could say the same thing about the mouse, which is of extraordinarily poor quality. It tends to result in cursor drift, even when it is sitting motionless on the table, and the right mouse button is extremely wonky - sometimes it sticks so that no matter how many times you click it, it will not register, while other times it repeatedly activates when you, arent even touching it! 5 stars for the keyboard (considering the price point), and 1 star for the mouse. If you can get the keyboard alone, save a couple of bucks and do so.

This is a reasonably priced wired keyboard and mouse bundle that works well, which is all that really matters in the long run. Some more thoughts on each piece below: • The keyboard: The design itself is a bit odd, in that it has the stylistic look that you would expect from a chiclet keyboard, but the keys themselves are more rounded along the corners that youd think. Typical membrane style keyboard beneath the surface as well, so you can vaguely feel the mushiness when typing, but not too big of a deal. • The mouse: Its a bit smaller than I had originally thought, and it doesnt really have a lot of heft to it, so when youre using it, youre not going to mistake it for some high quality, top of the line product. Also, make sure you use a mousepad, otherwise it might not register correctly when in use. If youre looking for something to use on a regular basis for your day to day computing needs, you might want to steer towards something a bit more well made, however if youre more in the market for something like a backup mouse/keyboard, or even a set for a secondary computer, this may be what you need. It works, and appears to work well, which is all you can really ask.

The keyboard is okay and rates about 3-1/2 stars. The keys have a decent feel to them, but it could be better. Overall, the keyboard is acceptable. I give the mouse a rating of 1-1/2 stars. At least it works. However, it is too small for my noraml-sized male hand. It is also for right handed people, with its odd shape. Overall, the mouse is really not acceptable. What I found after using if for a while is the my middle finger would rub up against the right click area and prevent me from getting a solid right click and release with my index finger. That causes problems if Im dragging and dropping something on the screen. Both the keyboard and mouse have stiff cords. They lack flexibility and can get in the way. They are also on the short side, so if the computer is very far away from the work space, the cable may be too short and need a USB hub with a longer cable to hook these two up. Packaging. The box label covers the double flap arrangement and so it is easy to end up tearing the box to get it open. Overall, I am disappointed in this Amazon Basics combination. The competition has nothing to worry about as long as their products are better than this combination.

The keyboard and the mouse are both okay but not great. The mouse feels lightweight and not sturdy. It works well but does not have a sturdy feeling in your hand. The keyboard keys sit up somewhat high off the board, feel clunky and more like push buttons than keys, and are loud. I use the keyboard and mouse as very occasional interfaces to my Raspberry Pi computer, which is set up for gaming and normally accessed through a game pad/controller. I bought the keyboard and mouse for the very rare instances when I need to access the OS and interface with the text-based GUI. So for the low price and limited use, the keyboard and mouse are fine. If I had to use these interfaces everyday for longer periods of time, I would probably be dissatisfied and frustrated. The price is low BUT you definitely get what you pay for in this case. I generally love AmazonBasics products, such as cables, for the value, but this particular pairing is lacking.
