I bought this mouse back in 2015 and put it through continuous use. The wire finally wore out after enduring almost three years of strain. Im so impressed by its robustness that I just ordered another one. I used it with my laptop and took it with me wherever I went, coiling the wire and stuffing it backpacks and suitcases. Im sure it handled years of being accidentally yanked or falling off of tables without trouble. Pros: - Mouse never lost its accuracy and performance - Smooth handling on flat surfaces - Mouse wheel NEVER lost its ratcheting detents or became too smooth to turn (This is a huge pet-peeve of mine when it comes to mice) - Mouse buttons never lost their mechanical resiliency (aka always clicked when you pressed them, never became stuck, loose, or droopy) - The top of the mouse retained its frictional surface, making it easy to grip - The mouse body material never chipped or cracked despite being roughly handled or dropped from reasonable heights - The rubber "feet" of the mouse NEVER peeled off (another huge pet-peeve). This is one of the biggest problem with other mice—the rubber "feet" peel off and the mouse loses its smooth handling on surfaces; it begins to scrape, not slide. This never happened with this mouse. Cons: - (Minor) The mouse is coated in a frictional veneer that peeled away in places that were in constant contact with my hand. This is not a big deal unless you find slight wear on the mouse unsightly. It did not affect performance. - The biggest issue with this mouse is that its just too small for my hands. Ive worked around it over the years, but I still wish Amazon would make a slightly larger model. I have had to shorten my hand by pulling in my fingers from an extended position to a tighter grip. But this occasionally causes me to inadvertently click buttons when I dont want to because more finger-weight is resting on the buttons. This is the biggest irritation but when compared to the durability of the mouse and the fact that NO part of it failed for almost three years of abuse, its one I can live with. Bottom line: DURABLE, accurate mouse, but slightly smaller-than-average.

Good while it lasted, about 3-4 months each is all Ive gotten from two orders of this mouse. The cost is good but the inconvenience of not being reliable takes a recommendation off the table.

I actually really loved this Amazon Mouse, at first! But, after 2 weeks of using it around 8-10 hours daily, it has failed! The scroll-wheel was very quiet, which has been nice, but this morning the wheel completely stopped functioning! It rotates, but does not scroll web pages any more. Here is what I liked about this mouse, before it failed: It had a USB cord, which seems more difficult to find for a mouse these days. ( I hated dealing with batteries!) It was a bit smaller so it fit my hand better. It was not too small like those "portable" tiny mice though. The scroll-wheel was very quiet and smooth while scrolling. The body had a nice feel and texture to it for better grip. It was not rubber, but not a glossy hard plastic either. Here is what I didnt like about the mouse. The mouse scroll-wheel totally failed! The scroll-wheel continually, accidentally engaged the "third button" feature because it had an extremely light touch, which was super annoying! The cord was not as flexible as my other older Logitech mice. I am in the process of returning this mouse and I feel that this mouse is just too cheaply made to handle 8 to 10 hour daily usage that I need. I will look for a better quality mouse now. If you are a very light "user" and want a smaller, corded mouse, this one would probably work just fine. But, if it fails, be sure to initiate a return so that Amazon can learn that these mice really need to be a better quality.

This is a DISPOSABLE item. Dont consider it a piece of equipment. Think of it as a computer SUPPLY item that you use up, and then toss - like toner for a laser printer. This mouse is very lightweight and the buttons require an extremely light touch. I knew they wouldnt last. They feel delicate and fragile...and they ARE that, so they FAILED. After about a year the left button (used most often) became less and less responsive. Oh, well...

Works great. Ive used all sorts of wireless mice and the best ones were the AmazonBasics $10 to $12 ones. Ive had two of those. One for several years and another for a couple of years for our two computers. Worked great. Using them for a few hours just about every day, the batteries would last sometimes more than 6 months. Suddenly, one of them started eating batteries. Tried lithium, all the good brands, etc.. I could use anything: generic, Rayovac, or Duracell; all with great results -theyd last for months. Anyway, this was the oldest one and I was tired of buying batteries (no, Im not getting batteries to recharge; Ive experienced that nightmare long enough). Anyway, I dont take my laptop anywhere anymore, so I bought this regular corded mouse and I am very happy with it. Oh, for the wireless AmazonBasics mouse that died a slow, agonizing death; I have no complaints, I used it for a few years... much longer than any of the Microsoft or Logitech mice that I had used previously. This mouse is larger and heavier than the ones I’ve used recently. I would prefer smaller and lighter. I measure it at inches 4.25 L x 2.31 W x 1.25 H. The buttons are extremely responsive and operate with very little resistance. The wheel button is especially smooth and easy to depress, probably the smoothest I have used, and this may be the mouse’s biggest plus. Don’t worry about lack of notches, the wheel is plenty grippy. It’s nice not to have to worry about batteries or disconnections. The mouse was agonizingly slow on the Macbook (Yosemite), even with mouse settings at max. I ran across the mouse scaling commands and found the default setting of 3. I worked up the scale from there until I reached the unconventionally large value of 12. It seems about right now. It’s not perfect, but it performs well.

I wanted to like this wired mouse. It had a decent feel to it when I first plugged it in. Not a high dollar mouse by any means. But it felt pretty good in my hand. It was fairly quiet with the clicks and I liked the length and width of this mouse. Could have been a little bit bigger to be a perfect size for a wired mouse, but personal preference is taken into consideration here. I have large hands and cant use the smaller peripherals. The downfall with the AmazonBasics mouse for me has been this: I have purchased two of these. Neither one lasted very long at all. By not lasting long, I mean the first one lasted a few weeks and developed a noticeable skip of the cursor when using the mouse. No, it didnt happen right away but within 3 weeks I couldnt use it. The second mouse was a bigger disappointment as it lasted 2 weeks at most, then started doing the same thing. Skipping and acting as if it were having a seizure when scrolling over buttons or links on a page. It happened frequently. I use a wired mouse (company policy) daily. Sometimes up to 12 hours in a day or more when adding in personal time. I have to be able to count on my computer and peripherals -- keyboard, mouse and monitor for my job. This AmazonBasics wired mouse was just a disappointment for me. I wanted to like it, but I have NEVER owned any mouse, wired or wireless that didnt last for at least 1 year to 18 months minimum. Many have lasted 4-5 years for my systems. I saw a couple of other reviews saying the same thing about the mouse acting up during use and the cursor problem. I am very surprised the reviews are so high. Did I want a replacement or to try it again? No thanks. Third time is NOT the charm.

I really liked this mouse when I got it. It worked fantastic for about a week. Super easy to set up. Just plug and go. Unfortunately, that was about it. It just suddenly stopped working. Completely unresponsive after about only 8 days. Very disappointed. I wouldve exchanged it and tried again, since it had been working so well, but I need a replacement immediately, so instead I just returned for refund.

The mouse seemed to function well (if a bit small) for 3 days, but after being dropped once ~3 feet onto carpet (really??), the left and right-click buttons popped out of their alignment. I spent about 10 minutes trying to reconfigure the cheap plastic bits without ripping off the buttons entirely, but only managed to snap one off in frustration. For a $7 mouse, Im not all that surprised, but was hoping the build quality would hold up to such minor abuse.

Needed something to replace my aging Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. The old mouse still works great, but the rubberized surface is starting to get a bit tacky. So I wanted another one of those - except they dont make that particular style anymore (there is sort of a replacement, but not hearing good things about it). So I wanted just a inexpensive basic mouse to use while I shopped for something more to my liking. This AmazonBasic had the features I wanted - three-button, wired, & inexpensive - so I got one of these. It works. Its a bit smaller than I like, but it seems to be doing the job. The cord is plenty long enough and since Im just doing basic computer stuff and not video gaming, it more than adequate for my needs. Im satisfied with my purchase.
