After much shopping around for a cheap camera (none of which had great reviews), I decided to go with Vivitar. I had one in the past that was very similar and I really liked it, so I gave it a chance. Boy, was that a sorry mistake! I absolutely loved this camera for about the first two days, and then it started messing up. To begin with, the view screen is horribly grainy and its basically impossible to tell whether your shot is in focus or not, nor can you tell how it came out when you go back to view it. You literally have to upload the shots to your computer to see which ones came out. Okay, a bummer, but I can get around that, I thought. I have poor vision anyway so I thought maybe it was just me. Then the flash command stopped working. I would press the button for Flash and it wouldnt change. I would have to turn off the camera and turn it back on in order to be able to change the flash setting. This is after the camera itself told me to turn the flash on! The first time this happened I thought it was an anomaly, but then it started happening more frequently until it proceeded to not work every single time I had the camera on. If that wasnt bad enough, the camera started randomly switching itself to video while I was in the middle of taking pictures. One minute Im shooting photos, the next I stop for a few seconds, then look down at my camera, and suddenly its on video mode! I am so disappointed in this product. I am glad I got it on Amazon so I can return it.

very easy to use for those who just want to take pictures while on vacation - none of the fancy programs to confuse us older folks!

The only complaint I have is that the screen is a little 3D-ish, but other than that... its perfect for my needs. For a 20mp camera, it is great! Now you can take a selfie in a much better quality than your cell phone. Will be buying more as gifts!

Don’t bother with this. It is flimsy. This camera did not work. The screen was filled with lines and couldn’t see what you were taking a pic of. The pics were dark and couldn’t tell what they were.

I read the reviews but ordered this camera anyway. They were a mixed bag of reviews so I took a gamble. Im sorry I did. My daughter likes to pretend shes making YouTube videos and needed a camera with a selfie like feature. We pulled it out of the package and it felt cheap and light. I added brand new batteries and within 30 minutes the camera quit working. Dont buy it. The negative reviews are correct for a reason!!!

Claims to be 20 megapixel but all images are blurry even when set to "20MP". Brand new batteries are drained after 3 days even when the camera was OFF almost all day. Sound does not exist during playback of videos on camera. Only once its downloaded will the sound work and then it is really low quality and the image quality looks like something off of a cheap gas station security camera from the 90s. Even when holding with an extremely steady hand, the photo is blurry. Yet on my phone that has a 10MP camera app, I can take perfectly clear photos so, it isnt operator error. Very disappointing. I am returning it.

no manual is included. i found it online and it says this: Your camera requires a Micro SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for normal use. Micro SD Memory cards are not included and need to be purchased separately. that information is nowhere to be found on this product page, which gives every indication that when you buy this camera as packaged and sold here, youll be able to use it to take pictures. thats not the case. i cant take pictures because i dont have an sd memory card, whatever that is. outrageous; instant return.

Id really like to give a better review but this camera is horrible. I got it for my grandaughter and it takes bad pictures and the batteries run out every week, no exaggeration. I had to get her something else quick because this was so bad, like a toy, not real.

This camera is a complete waste of money. It drains the batteries within five minutes. I thought I got a defective one so I exchanged it. New camera, same issue. I wrote to Vivitar customer service and received an email saying maybe I had the wrong memory card, even though it was 32 gb class 4. So I bought a new memory card and reformatted it per the emailed instructions. It still drains the batteries after only a few minutes. I’ve now spent more money on batteries and memories cards than I did for the camera.

I purchased this for my 5 year old niece for Christmas expecting it to be an ok camera for a child. This is so cheaply made that the camera wouldn’t even turn on with the batteries in because there isn’t a good enough connection with the battery door. Sent it back and ordered replacement. Replacement camera was able to have the battery cover close, but the camera would not turn on at all. Returned that one and had my money refunded. It’s made from the cheapest plastic...even though the price is low, the camera is so cheap it’s not worth buying.
