This is a complete REWRITE of my original mixed to negative review. While this camera does have the simple point & shoot options, this camera is no toy. It has so many options it can have a steep learning curve. But that also means its not something youll outgrow. But you have to also be careful. For example setting it up on day one I switched on all the enhancements to see what they did. I didnt make the connection when some low light videos came out horrible. I was ready to return it either to the seller or to Panasonic... which had already arranged for repairs. But on a hunch... nothing Panasonic support suggested, that Panasonic would not release such a bad camera, I wondered about those enhancement settings. So I shut them all off. The culprit was the innocent sounding iDynamic setting which I had on high. It only caused problems with very low light video. So if anyone read my older reviews, I take back what I said that the video quality was terrible. Its not. My other complaint was it didnt seem to have a manual ISO in the Manual mode, or show live what the effects of the changes I was making. This was something mentioned in a review of the camera (not Amazon) and something I really depend on. Panasonic saw my Amazon review and suggested how I could get what I wanted. I havent tried fixing the live view yet since it seemed rather complicated to do what should be simple. A camera with programmable buttons? Theres that steep leaning curve again. So generally speaking I really do like this camera. It does everything in a small package, it seems very well made, and it takes very nice pics. The only remaining complaint I have is the panoramic mode doesnt always stitch very well. Some results were pretty bad, some minor glitches. Because I assume I doing something wrong, Im keeping my rating at 5 Stars. Last, despite the specs that suggest this camera has a long battery life... Im glad this package came with 2 extra batteries and a dedicated charger!! I once refused to buy any camera that didnt run on AA rechargables simply because the replacement lithium batteries for cameras were so expensive. But thats not a problem as much now as it was 5-6-7 years ago.

I used to have a Canon Powershot SX600, and it was great, so Im comparing this Panasonic to that Canon. I originally got the SX700 because I started hiking and my Galaxy S5 camera, while pretty solid for its time, just didnt seem to be able to capture the impact of longer range shots. At the same time I didnt want something cumbersome that I had to hang from my shoulder/neck while taking those long hikes, or traveling around during the day. The Canon was able to get both wide-ranging landscape views, and also tight, zoomed-in images of flowers, etc. that I found on the trail. It was pretty much the perfect size for getting both quality and portability in an active outdoor environment. I took it with me on trips to Spain, England, Thailand, France, Okinawa, and more, and it kept so many great experiences. The compact size allowed it to fit in the pocket of my pants, which made it perfect for taking random pictures all day long. The battery wasnt sufficient for a full day of activity, but replacements were small and cheap enough for me to take a couple of extras along with no problems. Then someone broke into my car and stole my Canon, so I had to look for a replacement. Since the main reason I originally picked the SX700 was because I got it for under 300, I wanted to put some research into my options. Likes: - fits all of the same priorities that led me to purchase the SX700 - most reviews indicate it has better image quality overall than the Canon - has the best zoom I could find outside of the Canon - has a touchscreen (I dont know how much it matters to me since I otherwise didnt need one with the old camera) - hasnt been stolen by jerks Dislikes: - cant zoom quite as far as the SX700 (but then again, none in this niche can) - could still, in theory, be stolen by jerks - does not automatically kill/maim/dismember thieves (again, like other cameras in the market) TL;DR: Jerk stole old camera, I bought this one to replace it, works fine

This is a great travel camera thanks to the incredible zoom range. I say that based on my personal photographic experience in the past 20+ years. I took this on a short driving vacation to Arizona from California. I also packed a Lumix LX10 for the faster lens (f1.4) that the Zs70 does not offer. That said, the Zs70 is great for bright daylight shots where there is plenty of available light. Night time shots dont favor well with the f3.3 lens as it adds a lot of noise the image (grain) unless youre using a flash and close enough to your subject. As a landscaper photographer, this little jewel allowed me to zoom in to areas remarkably well. In comparison with the LX10 that only offers the 24-70 zoom, the Zs70 really did a remarkable job. I can only guess the new Sony RX100-VI is very similar in performance to the Zs70 however the Zs70 is less than half the price of the Sony. I do have the Sony RX100-V as well and dont find it as enjoyable as the LX10 mainly due to the shorter battery life of the RX100 series cameras. I know Ive gotten off topic in this review but for the bucks, the Zs70 has little to no competition.

This is a great camera and a wonderful seller. The additional items in the package were all as described. It really is an original Panasonic Battery & Charger. The Camera case fits the camera perfectly. It can go easily on a belt or in a purse. If you are going on a scenic type vacation, this is the one I would buy. Most of the auto settings I dont see myself using, but will use 3 or 4 (I will miss the arial photo setting of my older version of this camera). If you are a more experinced camera buff and want this beause of its size and weight for travel, you can manage the settings manually.

This is a nifty little pocket-sized camera, amazingly good for photographing birds or other distant, small and moving objects. I get crystal clear images even fully zoomed. The view finder, rare in a small camera, makes it possible, as does the 30x zoom. I bought it as a back-up for my main & more powerful Canon but am finding it very handy to have with me at all times. My one complaint - and it is minor - is that the lag time from snapping a photo until the camera is ready for another shot is slow. Yes, I could set it on "burst" mode but tend to leave it on single shot. Excellent value for the cost.

Wow! I ordered this 2 days ago and it’s already here! Expected ship date wasn’t until Jan 2-4 . I’m very happy with shipping time and everything in the kit looks very useful and will come in handy. I am currently charging the battery for camera, so I haven’t turned on camera yet. But it does look like a sturdy camera of great quality. Just ordered my soft box lights. I was drawn to this camera because of the flip screen and 4K video capability without the 4K price tag. It’s not a bulky device and seems comfortable enough to take with you in a medium size purse. I will be using this camera to do makeup tutorials so it is crucial that I have great quality footage. I am also taking my time reading the user manual ( highly recommend) as I don’t want to confuse myself later by fixing something I had no clue I did. This would be my first professional camera because I have been using my iPhone up until now to film. I cross my fingers and hope that I will be blown away by this camera. I will update later on how camera operates and quality. So far I’m highly impressed. Seller is amazing

Lots of features in a compact size. I would say long learning curve. Some features are not very intuitive. My main compliant is the Mode (photo, video, square etc.) moves very easily by itself. Also it sometimes goes into multiple pictures mode by itself. And the battery (and the sd card) compartment cover lock is not very secure. It moves easily opening the battery compartment cover. Pictures are very good quality , quite good in low light. I am not sure what the 4K feaure is used for. Internet features are a little confusing to set up but useful once the setup is done properly. Selfie feature ( by flipping the rear screen ) works really nicely. Also view finder is very useful) when there is glare and hard to see the image on the screen. Overall good camera and value but needs improvements in the hardware.

I bought this package before holiday. The delivery was on time ans everything is in perfect conditions. I did my home work, and selected this Lumix ZS70 because it has many super advantages other competitors do not have. I brought my camera for my Hong Kong trip. Now I write my review after downloaded all my pictures and videos. I like the three most important features of this camera: Viewfinder, Touch Screen, and Flexible screen.

This is a great camera. We went on a cruise and I took 700 pictures. When I loaded the pictures onto my computer I was totally impressed with the sharpness of the photos. The camera was very easy to use, the battery life was great. I had some great scenery shots from long distance and some fantastic shots from up close. Best camera I have ever owned.
