UPDATE been trying to use this camera for a couple months and have yet to figure out how to take a single picture that is not grainy, out of focus or dimly lit. this camera’s processor sucks and the optical zoom is crap too. worst purchase i ever made on amazon. lots and lots of features. it’s easy to fall down a settings hole and not be able to climb back out. the little case, tripod and LED light that came with it are crap but the SD card and the extra rechargeable battery and charger are nice though. the gumby-tripod in particular is a real POS. it’s also pretty sweet that you can use a phone app to control the camera remotely. cool feature they should talk up. i ended up getting a carry case and not-so-half-assed tripod so my total cost was more than i would’ve liked to spend.

Im going on a trip next month and, rather than lug my bulky DSLR and multiple lenses around, I decided to order a compact point and shoot instead. I wanted something that would do most of the work for me but I could also manual focus if I wanted. I ordered early so I could spend some time with it before I left. So glad I did. I have used SLRs and then DSLRs, Canon, Nikon, Minolta and Sony. This Panasonic is AWFUL!! I bought this one specifically for the viewfinder and focus ring. Both are unuseable. Even using AF is only a 50/50 chance of getting a photo in focus and the scene shots dont come out right either. After a couple of days and not changing the settings, the camera now zooms in super close in to whatever Im trying to shoot when I push the shutter button!?!?! Panasonic guides and online help are also worthless. Glad I ordered early and through Amazon. This is going back.
