I too could not take pictures indoors that turned out without washing out, color distortion to get purple with the flash I had to turn the red balance all the way up! Would not focus indoors unless it was a bright sunny day even if I turned all the lights on to see if that would help. My old s8000 worked great until my granddaughter got hold of it. It also would not link to the iPad. The new model has bad reviews does anyone know of a good camera? Im out the square trade cost but Amazon was great about making it right!

This is a terrific camera with lots of features. BUT, you need to fully understand how to use the camera, what all the settings do, and customize those settings to fulfill your style of photography. If you try to take this camera out of the box and start taking fast pictures based on your knowledge of an old point and shoot camera that didn’t have all these bells and whistles, using this cameras default settings, and without reading the Quick Start Guide (comes with the camera) section titled “Basic Shooting and Playback Operations” and the Reference Manual (must be downloaded from Nikon’s web site) sections to learn how to properly use this multi-functional camera properly, you might not get the good results you expect. Yes, this camera can be used to take quick pictures by pointing and shooting in less than an half a second, but only after adjusting your settings for that kind of action. The default settings take advantage of the Autofocus feature that takes a little more time to get that perfect shot – and it’s worth it. If you take the time to learn about the camera’s features and abilities, and properly use them, you will be amazed at the crisp, bright photos that you can get from macro close-up mode to full zoom. I am very pleased with this camera so far except for one situation in which the camera locked up with the lens out the first time I turned the Mode Dial. I had to reboot the camera by taking out the battery and reinserting it. Everything has worked great since then and I have some fantastic pictures to show using several of the camera’s features.

I love this little camera! Its super easy to use and takes really nice pictures, plus its compact so its easy to take with you. It would easily fit in a purse, backpack, etc. The zoom works really well and I has very nice setting options for taking nice pictures (Im clearly not a a photographer, so the ability to easily take nice pictures is really important to me). Ive used mine several time over the past 3 months and have had no problems, which was my only reservation about purchasing a refurbished camera. The battery and cords come brand new and the camera itself appeared to be new.

I wrote to the seller, Classy Outfit, before purchasing in order to get some information, but I never heard back, so thats not good. I went ahead and bought their refurbished unit. Right away there were two times when it displayed a message saying "card read error". It went away if I took out and re-inserted the card, so I kept the camera. Big mistake. The camera started to seriously malfunction a few weeks after the 30-day return period ended. Classy Outfits support ends after 30 days, so now Ive got to return it to Nikon and hope they can fix it. Maybe most refurbished units work better than this, but I wouldnt buy from this seller again.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. After a week the camera froze up whenever we tried to take a picture. Taking the battery out let it turn on again but as soon as the button was depressed it froze again. Spent an hour on the phone with Amazon trouble shooting center to no avail. Sent it in to be repaired. It worked when it first came back but now it freezes up again. I will not purchase refurbished again. Not sure about purchasing the same item new. There is a risk it could have the same problem.

So far, this camera has worked out well. I like the small size of the camera-it really is able to fit in your pocket. I took it on a trip with me and I wanted to be able to take pics quickly, without fuss, that wouldnt be terrible. (Im not a fan of cell phone pictures, they are usually grainy or blue tinted). When I first started taking pics I was worried they wouldnt look good because the display screen isnt as crisp as the pics are. On the screen my pics didnt look very good but when I uploaded them to my computer, they looked great. The zoom is pretty cool too. I try not to use it too much because pics can look pixelated, but sometimes the landmark is physically too far away. The pics dont look magazine worthy but they look pretty good to me. The camera I had before this was a Canon Rebel DSLR. I loved that camera but it broke right before my vacation. I wasnt ready to invest in another DSLR, and I didnt want to lug one around with me, and all of its attachments while I was on vacation, so I purchased this "pocket" camera. It has been a long time since I have had a camera this small. The last time, several years ago, the speed at which the camera took the picture was atrocious! I would take the picture and have to wait 10 seconds for the camera to figure its stuff out. By the time I did, I had lost the shot. This camera was so much quicker! Most of the time, it took the picture right away. There were a few instances where it took its sweet time, but overall it was quick. The video isnt bad. Better than my phone, not as good a professional movie. (I dont have any other videos to compare it too, I dont own a video camera). My videos are a bit grainy, but I bought the camera for its ability to take pictures, not videos. I got what I expected with this camera.

Could have been good, but it has focusing issues. Tried several of the settings for auto-focus, and couldnt get a focused shot of a bird feeder 6 ft. away, centered and filling ~half the frame, but camera would focus on the surrounding trees some 30 ft. away! Similar results with other settings. Talked to Nikon customer service and they suggested I use manual focus which focuses only on subject in the center. I considered this a defective camera and returned it. Wold have given the model another try, except that amazon was going to take 2 MONTHS for a replacement, so I gave up on this model/brand.

I have really enjoyed this camera. The size is small enough to have in your pocket all the time (in a case to protect it from pocket trash). The image stabilization makes pictures clear and crisp that would otherwise be blurred when trying to hold a camera so small and light while using telephoto.

This is an excellent pocket-sized camera. It is well made as is expected from Nikon. The 20x optical zoom is flawless. Low light performance is not exceptional in as much as the sensor is small. The battery life is less than expected, although it is sufficient for most applications. I bought a couple of extra batteries and a travel charger. The wifi picture transfer works as intended if you download the Android app for your phone or tablet. I wanted a small camera with a respectable zoom range. This one is slim and light and meets my needs. I am happy with it.

I switched from an older Canon point-and-shoot camera to this Nikon S7000 a couple years ago and have been incredibly disappointed with its functionality. While the 20x optical zoom is nice, good photo quality is limited to situations that correspond to a handful of preset options. However, what really makes this camera awful is that the WiFi doesnt work, the Android app isnt supported by Nikon, and only the OEM USB cable can be used to transfer photos to a computer. I cant believe I spent $200 for this camera at a time when Canon made better ones for nearly half the price. I ended up using my phones camera most of the time, and I retired this altogether once I couldnt find the right USB cable. Stay far, far away from this piece of trash.
