stopped working right after my month return window was up. It wont take pictures although it turns on. It wont turn off again without removing batteries. i am sending back to Nikon, will see how it goes.

Great starter camera if you want to jump into photography, it doesnt have a manual mode unfortunately, but it has plenty of modes that can get the job done in pretty much any situation, youre limiting this camera severely if you dont take advantage of the modes so make sure you read or skim the manual its easy to understand and can help you get started if youve never used a digital camera of this caliber. The photos Ive put in this review are all unedited photos Ive taken with this camera since using it!

We have just opened the box and used this camera for the first time, bought this to keep photography simple and fun (compared to complex DSLRs and carrying multiple lenses all over the world). Father and Mothers with children will love the simple point-n-shoot features, and also pay high attention to their beloved children (as they all deserve). Yes, there are really advanced cameras available, but our decision to buy was based on simplicity (and not complexity). We bought this camera as a packaged deal with 64 GB Samsung memory card and camera case. All perfect so far, but we are leaving for Hawaii vacation for 2 weeks and will have ample opportunity to use most feature and assess comprehensive performance. So hang in for a follow-up review. However, initial (out-of-box) quality and performance is a no-brainer and you do not have to read 50 pages of manual. As mentioned earlier, this is great for families with young kids and pets, especially while traveling as camera size is just about perfect. I highly recommend this camera for folks still believing in simple living, high thinking.

The camera itself is fine it is the snap bridge software that comes with the camera that is just rubbish. I have owned several of the Nikon cameras and have been pleased with them. They are older and require a cable or removing the SD card for photo transfer. I specifically purchased this camera for the snap bridge software to be able to transfer photos. One minute it would work the next it would not. Uninstalled re-installed. Read forums that other customers were experiencing the same problems and they had just given up and started plugging the camera to the PC or using the SD card to transfer photos. I already own a older Nikon Camera with a Toshiba Flash Air SD that is very slow to transfer photos and the software works slowly on photo transfer. The software interface on the Nikon COOLPIX B500 software was just sad and needs a serious update. I Returned the camera for a refund as it was useless and did not deliver the most important feature of the camera. Its just easier to use my iphone to take photos and use Photosync app to transfer photos to PC or transfer photos from PC to the Iphone within seconds and works every time without any problems. I wasted a lot of time trying to get the Nikon Software to work and was a complete waste.

This camera is a great point and shoot model. All the zoom a hobbyist can hope for. The auto mode adjusts to lighting and gets really nice results. And Im a big fan of AA batteries, Ive done rechargeables before and appreciate the economical aspect. But this is my preference.

Great camera. Granddaughter took a picture of the moon and it looks like it is through a telescope. I could not believe the quality!

Cant Buy A Better Camera For This Price. This Camera Is So Easy To Use. I Love How The Photos Go Straight From The Camera To My Smart Phone. THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES IS AMAZING!! I Took A Picture Of The Moon One Night, Uploaded It To Facebook And Everyone Kept Asking Me What Lens Did I Use. They Were AMAZED When I Told Them This Is The Standard Lens The Camera Came With!!!

Ive been using Nikon cameras since the late 70s. This B500 was purchased only to use in an environment where I could not take my professional Nikon cameras, so I wanted to ensure I bought in my opinion the best. Im a commercial photographer and take thousands of photos every week on my photo projects. This unfortunately is by far the worst Nikon camera Ive ever used in my life. I would not recommend it at all. Ill be returning it. I cringe at the photo quality and no matter how much I try to dress it up in Photoshop / Lightroom for this mini-project, its difficult to tweak them into an acceptable mode. The camera was extremely slow to use and focus. Time wise, it would take me three times longer to frame and take a photo, very disturbing that Nikon sells this product.

Decent little camera. Does NOT HAVE MANUAL MODE. I am a beginning photography student and purchased this not knowing much but thinking this did have manual mode. This does NOT. Its a good quality camera for the price and has excellent settings. You will get good images out of it, but do not expect manual mode.

Im really liking my new Nikon. I *love* the Bluetooth connectivity. That is life-changing. The Nikon app has worked well, paired with my iPhone 7. About my only complaint is that when you turn it on - even just to view the pics youve already taken - you MUST take off the lens cover first or the camera wont work and you get a message on the screen, "Please turn off, remove the lens cover, and turn on again" or something like that. Crimeny. Im pretty sure my husbands Canon Rebel doesnt have this issue. After a couple of weeks, Ive been trained to ALWAYS take the lens cover off before turning it on, but that seems like a glitch they need to correct. As for ease of use and quality of images, Im very pleased. The "rapid burst" setting is NOTHING like the rapid burst on my iPhone, so I still use that for capturing sports action. If thats important to you and youre going to be taking lots of sports/action photography, you wont be able to get off this inexpensively, Im afraid. Still, this camera meets my needs 90% of the time.
