Not gonna lie, I have been an Olympus fan for many years. But when I dropped my point and shoot Olympus and discovered they didnt make that particular model with the super zoom and features that I wanted, I had to go looking. I was not happy about having to change camera models because the beauty of the Olympus cameras that I have previously owned, the batteries/chargers/camera cases were all interchangeable, so I could keep on using perfectly good batteries with the new camera. Long story short, I am thrilled with this Nikon Coolpix - the zoom capability is superior to my previous Olympus cameras, the features are pretty much equivalent to what I was used to and the photos Im getting are stunning! This camera was very affordable and the battery charger/batteries are reasonably priced. The more I learn about the camera functions, the better my photos are - I am a Nikon convert, this is a great little camera!!

I own several Nikon cameras, from DSLRs down to point and shoots, and have shot Nikon cameras exclusively for several years. The A900 interested me because of the articulating screen, which is a great feature. However, the performance of this camera is dismal. How so? First off, the image quality is very poor and photo results are inconsistent. In low light situations it seems the camera over compensates, resulting in colors that are washed out; subjects appear over exposed. Color reproduction overall is very poor. Secondly, the VR seems to only work occasionally - you can take a photo that looks okay and when you snap the next one the subject is blurred. This has has never occurred with any other Nikons I own and I have to conclude that this camera is defective. Thirdly, auto-focus is also inconsistent; the auto-focus hunts and often cannot lock in, particularly when using the zoom. I purchased this as a travel camera, but after three days of shooting and comparing the results of this camera with my other Nikons, I have to conclude that this is sub-par product that does not live up to the product description and I am returning it. I would not be able to rely on this camera to capture vacation memories with my family.

Bought this camera prior to recent vacation. I had been looking at SLR with even better zoom (50), but decided I didn’t want to walk around with a bigger camera around my neck, and that large a zoom probably needs a tripod for stable pictures anyway. This Nikon worked out perfectly taking great shots in all lights, and from close up to its furthest zoom (35). I did lose a few shots before I got the hang of the double press to take a picture, but once I got familiar, it was a very comfortable camera to use. I’d recommend playing with it for a while before using on a trip.

The camera freezes (crashes) almost with every use. I have installed the latest firmware update, verified that the memory cards are supported by the camera, and tried several memory cards. The only remaining remedy is to send the camera to Nikon for service. The resolution of the video and stills is excellent and one can get very good video and stills with this camera. However, there are numerous issues as discussed below. 1. the video image stabillization is medocre. Great care must be taken to get smooth video. A monopod helps. 2. The camera does not record pictures in raw, only jpeg. 3.

Nikon is the best ever. I’m replacing an older point and shoot with this model as suggested by Nikon. The A900 has so many wonderful features. It’s easy to use and set up. The best feature of all is to be able to send the photos directly to your iPhone right after taking the pictures on the camera. I had no issue setting up SnapBridge. It’s the best camera ever for the price. Fits perfectly in your purse too. The quality photos are just as good as the ones from my D90!

It is a very convenient size camera that performs very well to handle the more difficult photo shots. Its Fstop and Shutter speed settings are very effective in dealing with either low light or movement. Its menu items have momentary text messages presented to explain the function so most of the time you dont have to use the manual. The flash has multiple choices to control the light levels and red eye. The LCD screen has very good resolution and works in all but the brightest situations. The camera lens autofocuses in very low light and is well protected when powered off.

I had a previous model for 3 years when I dropped it and it will no longer zoom. I then looked up the Nikon Coolpix and they said the A900 was the newer version of the camera. It is a great camera. The zoom it better then my 35 mm camera with detachable lens. The picture quality is great. It is small so I can easily put in my purse. The battery lasts for a good while.

when you zoom in & your hand naturally shakes, the shot goes off before the image is in focus. the autofocus is really slow & you miss shots or it comes out blurred. its not light like a cellphone but thats what you get with zoom lenses. its heavier and bulkier than a cell phone but much less than a D3400. I only recommend you get it for traveling on foot such as cities. if you vacation in open country by car, then bring a D3400.

Install Flash Player I am used to carrying huge lens, while obviously we cant expect SLR quality photos, this is pretty good for what it can offer and a great backup camera. Some times my Note 8 photos were better [mostly land scapes]. However if zoom is ur thing and you dont want to carry bulky lens this your camera. I will attach some samples, recomend using it to decide. All are handheld photos / videos so there will be shake. You cannot use it for photos all day as it uses display but you can charge it using a powerbank so pretty nifty that way. Attaching a video of heli landing at a distance to give you an idea of how much it can zoom. Reduces resolution from 4k check screen shot of the same.

I just got this camera today and I am very excited. I compared this to the Canon powershot but liked this one more because of the flexible screen and functionality. I just got back from a europe viking river cruise and took my Nikon 3100 DSL camera and a couple zoom lens plus my movie camera and small pocket camera. I wanted a solution that had movie functionality as well a a great zoom and smaller size. I played with this all afternoon today and loved it. It took great pictures. I also liked the zoom button that takes you out of zoom mode for a couple seconds so you can line up the picture and then it goes back to the previous zoom position you were at. When I used the video the voice over I did from behind the camera was not very loud at playback. This may be a setting I need to change but havent figured out yet. Please note the included charger plugs directly into the camera. I also order a vivitar outlet wall charger and two additional batteries and will keep them as backup in my camera bag.
