I bought this camera to use scuba diving. I was using it in Indonesia, when after about 5 dives, it started acting erratically and then stopped altogether. I had the dive manager look at it and he said it did not have any leaks, cleaned the battery cover a bit, and said it might work. It worked for 2 more dives then stopped again. I rented a camera, a different brand, and when I compared the two sets of pictures from this camera and the Olympus, there was no comparison. The Olympus had FAR better clarity. So, even if this camera hadnt died, I would have been very disappointed with the results. Since reading the nightmare stories about being charged to get the camera back to working mode, I have decided to eat the cost of this camera and use any money I saved on repairs for an Olympus underwater camera.

I bought the Fuji FinePix XP120 for my daughter thinking a shock proof camera could handle an accidental drop from her hands. The camera feel from her hand and landed on the ground, a two feet total drop height; the shock proof is claimed to be 5.8 feet. The camera quickly stopped working. I sent it back for repair and received a bill to complete the repair. The camera was less than 4 months old, I inquired about the repair cost and I was told that the warranty for a Shock Proof camera does not cover drops, huh? I left a message with the manager in the repair department but have not heard back from him. I still have not heard back from the manager for the camera repair, he is always away from his desk. Fuji said they will be sending me the camera back not repair if I do not pay for the repair and return fee.

THis camera worked great when I used it for underwater photos and videos. However, when I went to recharge it, I did not know which receptacle to use. There is a USB and an HDMI receptacle which are very poorly marked. You also have to orient the plug in the right direction. I gently tried each receptacle trying to orient the plug end connector. However, this was enough to break the camera and this is not covered under warranty. It should be marked clearly!
