This takes DSLR quality photos. Very versatile, able to carry in your pocket. This can be used on your iPhone or standalone. Mine came with a 8GB card and takes great bokeh pics.

You might be interested in this camera if you have ever wanted to take better pictures with your iPhone by having complete control of things like aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Right now, I think this is as close as you can get, however, there are few considerations: 1) This wont replace a DSLR 2) You need a case with a wide open bottom (DXO has a list of compatible cases in their website. I personally use the EVUTEC Karbon S) 3) Fixed lens, just like the iPhone, so you cant zoom. But you do get a lot more pixels. 4) If you only want to use Auto Mode, it might be better idea to buy a capable point and shoot for a lot less with faster autofocus. Why did I buy it? The three most important factors for me were: portability, low light performance, and control. The DXO One is amazing at all three. * Portability: The One fits in my pocket, so I take it with me everywhere. * Low-light performance: A whole new world of possibilities have opened up to me. * Controls: You get Program Mode, Aperture Priority, Shutter Speed Priority, Manual Mode, and the common scene modes for casual shooting. Added benefits (Your mileage may vary): * Raw files. * You get a copy of DXO OpticsPro Elite and DXO Film Pack 5 Elite for free. I didnt own post processing software so this added a huge amount of value. OpticsPro alone costs $199.00 * The iOS app is wonderful. I dont care how intuitive the button layout is in your camera, or how nice your LCD panel is, I absolutely love to control the DXO One with my iPhone screen and see the changes in real-time. * DXO support. Seriously, they are always ready to help if you have questions, and they have a lot of resources like videos and the user manual online. Youll appreciate this if you have ever looked at a DSLR manual. * Instant firmware updates through the iOS app. * You get a JPEG that you can share instantly with your friends. In the last party I went to, everyone wanted me to take their picture and send it to them. 5 seconds later the photos were on their phone and they uploaded them to Facebook. * Electronic image stabilization for video. I have 6S without OIS and there is a huge difference when you need steady video. * Beautiful portraits even if you just use Portrait Mode. Everyone loves the blurry bokeh effect. You cant get that with just the iPhone. * You can use it without the phone. * Youll start learning more about photography as youll want to explore the limits of this little camera. Avoid at all costs if... You should avoid buying this camera if you only own flawless technology or cant be bothered to learn something new. The camera locked up once and I had to reset it. I also once had to quit the iOS app and re-opened it so the manual focus (Introduced in the 1.2 firmware update) would work. If the camera shuts off because you are not using it while still plugged into the phone, you need to cover the lens and lower the cover again to turn it on (very unintuitive the first few times). If all the photos you take are landscapes, the iPhone will be more than enough. But perhaps worst of all, you still need to know composition, etc, if you want to take better pictures. If you are concerned about the camera heating up, they addressed this with the 1.2 firmware update. I got it after the update, and I have not experienced this. If you are going to take a lot of pictures, get a credit card-sized Amazon Basics power bank for $3 and take it with you. For everyday use, you are not likely to need it. Final thoughts Your iPhone, paired with the DXO One and some wide angle and macro lens from Moment or Photojojo Iris and you will have a lot of flexibility and fun. Im now waiting on my new tripod to arrive and try long exposure. Get a quality tripod mount as well, I recommend the Shoulderpod S1. Im very happy I got this camera and I would definitely recommend it.

Not able to focus more than 20cm after firmware update. Really I mean really short battery life. Decided to return.

Had some trouble with it when I first got it but the upgrade to the firmware fixed all my troubles and now I use it when I got on an trips and do not want a full DSLR camera with me. Have taken it to lots of car shows and have great photos from the camera.

This camera looked promising, but wasnt up to my expectations. Tons of issues Ive met: 1. Battery runs so fast Start from 100% by overnight charging, taking some photos for 10 or 15 minutes, it goes under 50% easily. Fast runner Ive ever met except Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. 2. Auto mode doesnt work with fixed low ISO 1. Set MAX ISO as 400 2. Set to use AUTO mode 3. Try to shoot something(in a room, daytime) 4. Then you can get very dark photo. Parameters says "1/30 - f/1.8 - ISO400" - it goes dark of course. It looks like AUTO mode doesnt care fixed or capped ISO value. Same as Program auto mode. 3. Slow transmitting from camera to iPhone - and it block App UI 4. High ISO is noisy 5. Depth of Field is not shallow expecting to f/1.8 - deeper than iPhone6 back camera. 6. Tap to focus doesnt work as expected - it often focus on the back, even at center-focusing mode. 7. Live preview on iPhone isnt so beautiful as expected. 8. Camera JPEG is not so good. For nice photo you need process a raw on your Mac, but DxOs strong point is its portability isnt it? I asked their CustomerSupport, and CS guy said "You got a defective unit. My camera and my colleagues have performed perfectly. No problems at all". If I had a chance to try a perfectly-performed DxO One, I rewrite this review. But at this time, Its just like a toy camera from 20th century, Im so disappointed. -- Fig.1 - Choose AUTO mode Fig.2 - You can see as this via preview Fig.3 - Its youll really get Fig.4 - First shot, camera JPEG in a room nighttime. Not good as you see.

I ordered this small camera to take with me on trips... Being a photographer myself, I loved the compact camera instead of lugging my camera equipment for trips... I purchased the camera in Aug of 2016... The camera did not want to switch between looking at photos and back to camera mode until I turned the camera off then back on again... I took it out recently to snap a few photos at my daughters wedding..., The camera would not stay on and wasnt charging... I have emailed the Co several times and tried all the resets etc they suggested with no progress... Now I have a 500.. camera that doesnt work and the Co continues to exchange the original camera with one that doesnt charge properly... Im not sure they have one that does... oh and from my research there is no phone number for this Co...,
