I had a Canon SX230 forever and decided to try a new Canon camera. So the SX610 (in white) it was! PROS: * The picture quality is stunning! * The zoom lens works VERY fast * There is image stabilization with the zoom and pictures at 18x zoom actually look pretty good * Movie quality is awesome! * Low light pictures turn out well * Camera itself is very lightweight * I like the little rubber thing on the front to help hold the camera better * Battery seems to last much longer than past Canons I have owned * Has a dedicated movie button for those (like me) that take a lot of video * Has High Speed Burst CONS: * The normal dial I am used to on the top of most Canon point-n-shoot cameras is not there anymore (you have to change your options through the function set button) * There is no sports mode (I used that mode quite a bit on my SX230) * The manual flash is pretty annoying (sometimes very annoying!) * When recording video, the focus sometimes goes in and out * The creative shot is weird in my opinion and useless (it really doesnt do much of anything CREATIVE to the pictures) I have not tried using the WiFi so I cannot comment on that (I have a USB cable and upload the old fashioned way!) All in all, I really like this camera and I find myself shooting mostly in Portrait mode or High Speed Burst (for my kids fast movements). I will hang onto this camera for a long time and consider it a great purchase! Oh, and I love the white color of the camera body!

This worked just great for a recent vacation in Hawaii. Very happy with my purchase! I took many pictures as we were traveling and it really performed well, not blurring the photo. It also did well on photos with low lighting.

I tried to register this item on the Canon site to access the download for uploading pictures and discovered this is a knock off Canon camera. Canon cameras are made in Japan and the serial number doesnt start with a C. This camera says made in CHINA. DO NOT BUT FROM THIS SELLER. The only reason I realized it was fake was after trying to register then googling what the serial numbers start with. Wasted my money. I bought this camera for my newly started media production company. Quality of pictures is good. The video is not since the camera doesnt have the correct settings like the original camera. The manual focus isnt working correctly so I cannot use for my projects which why I bought it.

This camera is awesome. Takes wonderful pictures, even in low light. You are able to download an app so that you can take a picture by hitting the button on your phone, and you can even see what your camera sees on your iPhone. Totally coool!

Beautiful photos, too many features, excellent video. User interface is not intuitive, but if you read the manual you can figure it out. Button labeling is bizarre. I tried the wi-fi download feature but found it cumbersome and slow. Unfortunately, the camera does not come with a cable for downloading to your computer, but with a little effort I found one at Staples; I needed a cable with a mini USB on one end and a regular USB on the other.

This is a powerful little camera! This is a big upgrade from my cell phone i bought this for my upcoming cruise and dont want to be using my cell phone. I must say im really impressed with this little thing. The wifi is perfect you can actually control the camera with your phone which is perfect because the person taking the picture wont get left out. Also with the wifi makes it easy to upload to your phone, google drive or social media. Zoom is decent for the price and size. Only draw back is this camera is not that great in low light. I recommend removing every feature and use it manual manual where you can control aperture and exposure (If u need to us any of the presets i recommend potrait or low light). This camera is not a dslr so dont expect to get the same type of pictures as a dslr. If you read the manual and get familiar the camera you can get some really nice pictures. Side note u really need to get a tripod just to get better quality pictures and eliminated blurry shaky pictures.

I loved the ease of videoing with this camera. I was looking for a digital camera I could use from the back of a horse while walking down the trails. This one does OK but not wonderful. I take 200 to 300 pictures per ride just to get a few that arent blurred. Wish it had better image stabilization. I have not found anything that is as good as my old S700 Fujifilm which died. Even the Fuji cameras cant do as good a job while in motion as that old camera did :( So if you can be still to focus and shoot this camera would likely be very good. The weight it good and it fits easily into a little bag on my saddle. Love that much about it.

This is my second one because i love this camera. (The first was destroyed in a torrential rain storm on Jekyll island). Its easy to use which is important to me...Im not into gadget tech stuff,in fact i loathe that junk. I appreciate that this camera doesnt require too many steps for any action. Ive dropped many many times and its still perfect. I love how easy it is to transfer to my phone for Instagram (that as my main goal). Sometimes i have to climb, or run...so its important to me to be able to shove it into a pocket. Granted i would love to have more control over shutter time,but this is a fantastic camera thats allowed me to take pictures that people have commented on their professional look.

easily fits into pocket and use it almost daily, use the sd card to move pics over to the pc, wished it had an articulating screen to take some guess work out and better frame the selfies. takes nice pics and movies for the amateur photographer, this level of functionality has been taken over by the more expensive smartphone
