So far this digital camera has been great. Was very easy to set up and takes nice photos. The camera does require a digital card in order to save photos. I purchased one separately from Amazon for 13.00. There is a small strap that comes with the camera. The shutter speed is good but you can not take fast moving shots with this camera. It is better suited for portraits and still life. The camera is not heavy so would be easy to take with you on a tour. I would also recommend buying a camera bag with the camera to protect it from being scratched or hit. Another nice feature is the Wi-Fi. It was easy to download photos to my laptop without having to connect to it. I saved around 70 from purchasing this camera on Amazon versus best buy. Very happy with the purchase and will be using this on my trips!

Return window closed September 5th - Lens error began September 9th. This is the second camera that has lasted less than a year due to lens retraction problems. Really sad because for its price range you can get some rally great shots with this one. I was hoping for something to take on hikes and trail rides - this it not it. Back to my old one Kodak.

I bought this camera to get close up shots of the moon. I got three really beautiful shots - OUT OF THIRTY! I was using a tripod, but still the photos came out blurry. Most of the photos I took inside were really blurry as well. The user settings are far from intuitive and the lag time between pressing the shutter button and the picture being taken is excruciatingly slow. Maybe this camera is defective, but after reading other reviews, I suspect this is simply a terrible camera. Im returning the camera and just sticking with the camera on my Galaxy S9.

This camera takes fantastic pictures outside! I went to Disney World and Disney on Ice with it. My Disney World pictures came out fantastic. My Disney on Ice pictures were mostly terrible. It all has to do with lighting. I’ve tried several different settings. I purchased the camera with the intent of using it for the parade as well as the Flower and Garden Festival in Disney World. I know it will be great for that! It’s a great beginner camera. Light weight. Easy to use. FANTASTIC ZOOM!

Im still trying to learn how to use. Get a tripod for the magnified shot. Easy to move shots to my iPad. Gives fast turnaround to get it to Facebook or E-Mail.

Amazing pictures! I love my camera so much. You can get beautiful pictures out of this camera, with out needing to spend 400$ on some camera to get the same quality. Its the photograper skill more so than the camera. Practice makes perfect for sure with this camera. Im by no means a professional. But I do take many many photos. From people to still life to the moon. I love taking photos of the moon. But anyways, this camera is a wonderful option.

I am an artist who needed a simple new camera for my colorful artwork (and for personal nature hike photos). I have used the camera for a couple of weeks now (still figuring out some of the settings), but I am super happy with it so far. The color seems good, the zoom works well (though can be a bit grainy on super large shots). I shot the moon photo the second day I had the camera. I am really pleased that the self-timer will remain ON from shot to shot instead of having to re-set every time - very handy! The length of the lens takes a bit of getting used to, but I do like the way this feels in my hand compared to a rectangular point-and-shoot. The largest image resolution is HUGE and will yield crisp prints at a smaller size. I am very glad I ultimately chose this Canon PowerShot SX420 out of the literally dozens of cameras I researched over a months time! (Photos: I bumped up saturation in post editing on the close up of the 1 " and 2" crystals, the moon was shot on a tripod (I never shot the moon before, so that was an exciting result).

I took advantage of buying a Refurbished Camera and saving at least $80 over all the other SX420s available at that time. In fact, I was a little concerned about the quality because of the very low price, $100. When I opened the box which arrived right on time I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like and functions like a new camera. I am very happy with the seller and the quality of the camera.
