I see why its $700. It takes the most beautiful images clearly, and it’s not hard to learn. Very easy to set up and use the different modes. The touch screen is a huge bonus too so you dont have to keep clicking the little button. Definitely recommend. (Hint: get the hotstock app to be notified to buy this camera when it’s in stock)
The best purchase I’ve ever made in my entire life and I’m not being dramatic! ???? Buy it without hesitation. The only thing to keep in mind is that after taking several photos in a row, the camera can get a bit slow. I just turn it off and back on, and it’s good to go ???? I’ll add some pictures so you can see the quality for yourself!

Great all around point and shoot
This is a perfect option for an all around, compact, point and shoot. I’ve had several compact cameras over the years and this is the best, as far as image quality goes. I keep this on me for quick use and holds up well against more expensive cameras.
High quality photos in small package
I've had this camera for about a year now and have used it for outdoor photography on climbing and skiing trips where I need something that fits in my pocket. I'm not super camera savvy and so I find that 99% of the time, auto-shooting mode combined with some light Adobe Lightroom post-processing produces exactly the kind of images I'm after. All the 1-star reviews have to do with it's lack of WiFi connectivity. This has nothing to do with the quality of the images produced so these reviews are stupid; I use a card reader and have had no issues. WiFi connectivity with my Mac does indeed not work, but with my iPhone it is seamless when the Canon app is downloaded. I prefer using the card reader anyway.
The Little Camera that Could
I came here looking for a tech question and stumbled across some unfair reviews from people who sound like they know little about photography, much less this great camera. I've had mine for three years now and it's been so good it's made it hard for me to find anything else that compares in its size and price range. That includes a couple other bodies from camera companies named after mountains. The G7X Mark II is TRULY pocketable, has nice fast lens, the swivel touchscreen is awesome and it takes good video, too. And don't forget those Canon colors. There is a newer model that adds 4K and some other features but this a great little camera.

Takes nice bright pictures even underwater!
I bought this camera in April 2018 along with the Canon underwater case designed to fit. I've taken loads of great pictures, including many great underwater pictures while on vacation. I get lots of compliments on my pictures. :-)
