Purchased for my elderly mother after her old camera died. Tried to find one within $125-$150 range. Ive owned two other Canon compact cameras so I expected the quality would be satisfactory for the price. Pros: - Cost - 20 megapixels (over kill) - Good image quality - Large rear LCD screen (her main request as her old cameras was very tiny) - Compact - Features her other camera didnt have (face recognition focus, simple buttons, video) Cons: - If youve read other reviews, many complain about the lack of material included in the box. It comes in small brown box, no SD card, no USB cord, and no user manual (only a tiny "introduction" card). - Did I mention no SD card? Seriously? They couldnt toss in a cheap-o 4 or 8 GB SD card? What do those cost now, $2?? - NO USB CORD!! Again, how can you not include a simple connection cord? The package is incomplete without the SD card and cord. - AUTO feature is, in my opinion, not helpful. It keeps trying to change the camera settings while youre setting up a shot. My suggestion, turn it off and keep the camera on "Program / P" mode. Learn to use your cameras settings and be a better photographer. Know when to use the FLASH and utilize that MACRO button! - Battery took some effort to snap in. The latch needs to be opened a bit before installing. She hasnt been using it for very long but says she likes it, especially the large rear screen. I need to give her a USB card reader so she can upload the images to her computer. Hoping the battery life is better than my other Canons. The price is probably right where it should be. Its not fancy. Guessing the quality will be adequate for 4x6 & 5x7 prints. Ill add an update in a month or two.

I have not used it much but the photos look clear. It is so close to my old one that I did not have to learn to use it. Looking forward to many pictures.

I was expecting a little more quality food on the camera (comes out grainy with no flash indoors even when well lit). But for the price this is a good camera.
