This one lens can handle quite a few situations, from landscape and architectural photography at the wide end, to portrait photography in the middle, and as a mild telephoto at the long end. While this zoom lens may not be as sharp as individual prime lenses, the results I have experienced so far with this lens mounted on my Sony A6000 are wonderful. I cant recommend this lens enough for those who either cant afford individual prime lenses or who just dont want the hassle of carrying multiple lenses around and having to change them often (like myself).

Let me get this out of the way - this lens is awesome. It’s light weight, and high quality. I can’t believe Sony managed to engineer an 18-135 lens this size and weight. My A6300 and this lens fit into my Zing pouch (L) with space to spare. The image quality is an improvement over the kit lens and more than enough for my hobbyist needs. I also have the SEL50F18 lens which complements this nicely. The pictures online of this lens dont really do it justice - it’s a beauty

I have this lens mounted on my Sony A6500. I also have the SEL1018, SEL50F18, SEL35F18, and the kit SELP1650 (which I never use). I find I use this lens (SEL18135) 90% of the time now and just find it really easy to carry around and get a decent range with good quality. I use for stills as I dont really do video. Im purely an amateur photographer, so not using this lens for anything other than my hobby so take that into account. These opinions are purely subjective - no technical measurements. Pros are: light weight, small size, good image quality, quick focus in good light. Cons are: sometimes hunts for focus in low light, vignetting on wide angle end, doesnt obey the in-camera focus setting (have to use the AF/MF switch on the lens). Regarding vignetting, I shoot everything in RAW and when you apply the lens adjustment for this lens in Lightroom it fixes it automatically, so not a big deal. See the driftwood shots for example of before and after. In short, I like this lens a lot and would definitely buy it again. I attached a few photos. Most have been edited in Lightroom.

I sold a Sony G-lens 18-105 to get this 18-135, and i couldnt be happier. Some folks will think thats crazy, because the 18-105 G is supposed to be so great, but honestly, this lens totally outshines that one for a lot of reasons. First - its lighter and SO much easier to just hang off my shoulder. It fits nicely into my hand, and has super smooth zoom and focus action. Ive only had it a couple of days (and its been raining!), but from what i can tell, the colors are crisp, the detail superb, and its super easy to use. I love that theres a manual/auto focus button right on the lens itself, making it easy to avoid the whole menu system. I bought mine from Cardinal Camera via Amazon, and they sell this as used, but its really not . . . its part of a kit that they break down and sell outright. Saved 100 bucks going that route and am super happy! This is truly THE walk-around lens ive been looking for - for 4 years!!

This is my new favorite lens for my Sony a6000. It’s a good all around lens for landscapes and also zooming in on things. Compared to the kit bundle of the 16-50 and 55-210 lenses, you get a bit less range with 18-135, but the image quality is better and not having to switch lenses for telephoto vs wide shots is really nice.

Love this lens. Its surprisingly sharp given its zoom range. I have a few primes for specific focal lengths / portraits but this will stay on my camera 99% of the time. I also used to have the 18-105. The image quality of the 18-135 is on par and its (way) smaller and lighter and has longer reach.

Ive been using this lens for a couple of weeks now, and I can tell its a great walk around lens. Maybe the best for APS-C Sony cameras regarding that purpose. It has a range of 27-202mm full frame equivalent.

I like the clear crisp pictures it takes - you can see all the details on a person face. This lens is going to be my every day all around lens. What i didn’t like was the price - glad it went on sal and I had a couple of gift cards that help. Glad I went add and purchased.

This lens is perfect for the novice travel photographer that is looking for convenience! Its small and light enough to fit with my A6000 in a small pouch and be carried easily with one hand. A comprehensive 18-135mm range allows for taking photos without trying to squeeze lens swaps into the cadence of your family and friends. This lens features optical stabilization, which is great for grabbing quick shots without a tripod. Its also not a powerzoom, enabling quick and accurate adjusts to zoom and focus. I switched from the kit lens and cheap zoom combo to this comprehensive lens before a big trip and am glad that I did!

I have 6 lenses for my Sony a6300, but I use this one 90% of the time. Superb image quality throughout the large range. I trust it enough to leave my backpack behind and hike with just the body and this lens on a harness. If I could afford only one lens, this would be it.
