.. a quality lens in this category. It is very well build, feels solid, great grip with a rubberized ring. It is large, but it feels right in my hand with a Sony a 6300. Most important for me: it is extremely sharp, from center to corners. My copy does not show chromatic aberrations on the pictures I took so far, still have to test at high contrast dark/bright motives. Colors and contrast is very nice, not too pale and not too intense. Similar to the neutral Rokinon contrast/colors of their 12mm f2.0. The Sigma has autofocus and it is fast. I did some night shots in the streets and even at f1.4 it is ridiculously sharp. After my frustrations with the Sony 10-18mm f4 which was very soft, the Rokinon 21mm f1.4 with an imprecise focus ring (infinity mark) I am really satisfied with this lens. Imo Sigma filled this gap with a high quality, sharp, autofocus, fast wide angle lens. I still have to test it for videos, what I can see and read in youtube it performs very well though. The pictures I took with this Sigma 16mm f1.4 are very satisfactory, comparable to the shots I make with my preferred Sony 28 mm f2. Update: I tested it over the weekend and I am impressed. The small photos here might not tell, but the actual size pics show that lens is very sharp at low light even when wide open, and there are close to no chromatic aberrations at high contrast. A wonderful lens I can highly recommend!

This lens is amazing. Without a doubt the best lens for the Sony A6500. It’s made for APSC cameras (Sony a6000, a6300 and a65000)

This is the perfect lens if you want to do it all. Astro Photography with this lens is great. Video is sharp with just the right amount of Bokeh wide open. Low light pictures and video are a snap now on my Sony A6300. One thing to remember is that its not an Art lens so your Jpegs will be fine but your RAW files will need to have the lens profile fixes applied to them in post.

The lens is fantastic. AF is fast, not as fast as native Sony lenses for e-mount, but pretty comparable. Bought 2 Sigma lenses (this one and 30mm) because of YouTube reviews. Those reviews on YouTube were spot on. The Sigma lenses are superb. If you have an Sony a6500 with IBIS, then get the Sigma 16mm 1.4 and 30mm 1.4 - both produce such sharp images. Im willing to give up Sonys lens OSS just to have these non-stabilized lens because of their picture quality with minimal fringing.

I love this lens. Its incredibly sharp and produces gorgeous images. I was looking for a single lens to use with my new A6500, and you really cant go wrong with this one. Its fantastic for landscape and street photography, and it forces you to be creative with portraits. It could be a little smaller, but fast lenses need lots of glass to get that light. My only real complaint is that I ordered from Amazon directly, and they shipped it in a big padded shipping envelope (!!!!!). I had to do a lot of verifying to make sure the lens was unaffected by that, but lenses should be shipped in riged boxes with lots of cushioning. So I suggest you order from a third-party on Amazon; maybe get one of those bundle deals where theyll toss in a lot of extra stuff. At least theyll package it properly.

I have a Sigma 30/50/16.. the 16 is by far the best of the bunch for anything Im shooting. Stunning sharp focus. If I had to pick only one lense to attach to my a6500, it would be this 16mm f/1.4

I needed a wide lens for my Sony a6500 to do low light 4k video recording out in the field. This lens exceeded my expectations. On top of that, i used it on several occassions to get some great landscape photography photos. But mostly i needed to be able to record good quality 4k footage when backpacking and hammocking in wilderness. The f/1.4 did an amazing job in low light and really brings out the camp fire glow

Sigma lenses rock. Ive got the Sigma 30mm F1.4 and the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 and use them interchangeably on my Sony a5100 (a surprisingly little powerful camera package). The heft and build quality of Sigma lenses is impressive, but their optics are even more impressive. A little slower to focus with auto-focus than Sony OEM lenses, they still focus fast-enough for continuous video use. You cannot go wrong with this lens if youre looking for an around-town wide-angle lens that can also be used for low-light conditions. Personally, I use this lens to chase around my son (whos a toddler). The larger maximum aperture allows me to use a faster shutter speed because hes a quick little one and I dont want blur. Also, the wide angle allows me to get a great shot even if he moves towards the ends of the frame before I can get the shot. Hes quick. Hahaha!
