I rented the lens for a trip and fell in love with it. I instantly purchased one and have not regretted it at all. Not very heavy, good size and is very sharp. I have been doing photography for about 3 years now and I really wanted a wide prime lens. After using it in Florida on vacation, I dont think I could ever be without it. This is my go to landscape lens now. The sun stars that this lens produces are beautiful as well. I think that for the money, this is a fantastic purchase if you dont need "ultra wide". I also has the benefit of almost being a macro lens because of the close focus distance. Of course this isnt the best for portraits, but it does pretty well if you dont mind the typical wide distortion. Makes taking group photos a breeze as well! This is easily one of my favorite lenses in my bag. If you want a no nonsense wide lens, this is the one. I cant recommend it enough!

This lens is absolutely stellar, my favorite for landscapes. Turns out sharp images and performs well under any lighting conditions. I am in love with this lens.

Great Lens - when it is stopped down. When shot wide open it has issues - AF issues. I tried two copies and the focus was so far off on both that AF fine tune could not help. Shame because I loved the results when I shot landscapes. People not so much - missed critical focus almost every time.

This series of Nikon 1.8 G lenses never ceases to amaze me. The 24mm is just one excellent lens. Like the 85mm 1.8 G in this series, these are just fantastic when you want to shoot fixed focal length images. Both with a purpose, wide-angle or portrait, with Nikon glass, you really can not get better lens quality and picture quality on a FF Nikon camera. Very satisfied with mine.

Im very happy with this lens. Focus is fast. Colors are accurate. It feels great on my D810. I have the 24-70 f/2.8 but I enjoy going out with just one prime lens and using the feet to zoom.

I’m using this FX lens on my Nikon D5300 and it’s my favorite indoor and lowlight lens. I’ve read articles the reference and compare mobile cameras with DSLR in terms of quality. Once you learn about shutter, apature, ISO and the various auto/manual override methods with the Nikon, even with DX models ... this lens is perfect and a superior addition to your Nikon zoom lenses included in your box set. Additionally the This FX lens is 100% compatible with both FX and DX cameras.

Absolutely in love with this lens. Sharp corner to corner. I currently am using this on a D7200 to get me an equivalent 36mm field of view. Have used on a few weddings and portraits. This is my most used prime.

I always prefer primes over zooms. Especially with todays fast zoom pricing getting out of control. With todays higher resolution cameras I find myself more comfortable shooting wider than I used to. This gives me the flexibility to crop to any aspect ratio for printing. I havent had it long, but after a few days of use I already prefer it over the 28mm. I was skeptical about upgrading for 4mm, but I also recall how great the 24mm/2.8D I had before the 28mm/1.8G (which this lens replaced.) I mostly use a D750, but the 24mm is perfect on DX bodies (such as my backup is a D7100.) I gave up relying on pixel peeping tests and technical reviews a long time ago. However I dont ignore them either, and the technical reviews have been very positive so far. I will update my review after Ive had it for a while, and wanted to get my initial impression out since there are so few reviews out.

There are plenty other product reviews of this lens. All I can add is that it is really good. Far clearer than a package lens and for the price point its perfect!G
