I originally had a Nikon SB600. Unfortunately, I left the batteries in for an extended period of time and that was that. Rather than send it back to the manufacturer for repairs I did a little research and saw a few (new to me) manufacturers of similar flashes. After reading reviews of trusted sources I opted for the Neewer unit. The Nikon flash I had owned for sometime and used under varying circumstances (eg. room full of people with lower ceilings to factory location with 20 ceilings and depth of over 80). So far the Neewer flash seems to do just fine although I have found some shots to be under exposed. (*This could just be me as I have only used it in a couple of projects.) I will be testing it more in the future. Important: I think I should mention I am not a Pro shooter. I have been an art director and creative director in several ad agencies for over 20+ yrs. and hired many photographers and served as AD hundreds of times for stills and broadcast video. As a result I have become a pretty good amateur photographer. I usually shoot with a Nikon 7100, Sony a6000 and occas. studio lighting I own.

Ill be brief: my skepticism level was high when I was researching this flash unit. I mean, the price is too good. I read multiple reviews where people praised it, and I decided to pull the trigger...still not expecting much from it. I received it today and I am HIGHLY pleased. Without even reading the instructions, I simply put the batteries in, placed it on my Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket, hooked up the TTL cable, turned my D7200 on, turned the flash on and snapped pic after pic. All was good. It took me back to my old SB-600 days. Perfect exposures all around. The flash communicates properly with the camera. It looks and feels decent: not premium, but not cheap either. I was expecting way worse. I havent tried the wireless triggers, since Im using it the old-school way and it works perfectly. I give it 5 stars on this initial review. Time will tell if it will remain a 5 star item. I cannot write about battery life or recharge time between frames because I take one shot at a time instead of spraying and praying. But so far, so good when taking time between shots. Its really powerful for being such an affordable flash. Im impressed, enough that Im going to order a couple more to have more flexibility. Lastly, the included items work perfectly fine to smooth the flashs light and are of nice quality. Even the wireless triggers look and feel good. If I try them, Ill update this review. Im really pleased with this flash kit, and so far, I recommend it. Thanks for reading and God bless you greatly. Enclosed are four pictures on M mode at 1/64 power using a Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.8G. First two are on a D7200 and the other two on a D60.

The best deal in a TTL flash. Complete kit with off camera remote. Everything except batteries included. TTL Zoom flash pairs perfectly with Nikon 5200. If you need a flash but unwilling to spend $300-400 for Nikon branded one, this is what you want.

I have had this for a while now and used it during some event photography with dim lighting and it worked great. I had no issues other than having to make sure I turned the flash upward because the flash is super bright and blinding. I plan to use it this weekend at a wedding as well.

I use this with a Nikon D90. I had been using a Nikon SB-600 for the last 10 years. I was nervous to try a flash not designed by my cameras manufacturer because I feared having to adjust the levels all the time. Boy was I wrong. This thing works far better than my SB-600 by a long shot. The TTL system in this works perfectly. It is so good I rarely need to adjust it. For the money this flash is an unbeatable value. I am genuinely surprised by how good this thing is. It is only a fraction of the price of Nikon made flashes but appears to have the same or more power. It is able to flash repeatedly when using rechargeable batteries with no delays. The wireless transmitter that comes with it is perfect for putting your flash on a light stand or tripod so as to reduce the weight of it on your camera. I also own a video light made by Neewer and this is also constructed fairly well considering its bargain price. Too bad Neewer doesnt make Nikon camera bodies.

Absolutely love this new flash, its a very nice product, feels expensive, the TTL function is actually really good and gave me just enough flash to raise the light in a flattering fashion during tests. Just to be clear, it can be a really bright, powerful, flash, but the TTL mode worked nicely and barely looked like I was using flash. Anyway, the only disappointment I have is theres no beep when it is ready again. Im sure its used for on camera more than studio flash, but I wanted something I could use in studio as well as on vacation and the absence of that beep is a bit annoying. Oh, well, its a spectacular flash.

Ive only tested it a few times, and it seems to work well. I varied lenses, distances, lighting, and settings. I bought this as a back-up but gave it and a backup camera body/lens to my girlfriend on a permanently temporary basis (perhaps shell switch from Canon to Nikon after trying mine, lol). As a result, I have not used it on a regular basis to comment on the longevity. I do find the battery door compartment on it (at least on mine) does not open/close as smoothly as it should. I bought another one for my girlfriends Canon, and that compartment works fine; so Ill assume it was a fluke on the first order.

Im an amateur but always looking to get better. This flash has taken my pictures to the next level. Its easy to use and can really help your pictures look better than they would with just the camera flash. I love it!

I ordered two of these for a wedding. They EXCEEDED my expectations. The Chinese to English translation was a bit off, but not a problem. UPDATED Review: I have been getting requests about if these will work on Nikon Cameras that I dont own. I have to say that I dont know, but I cant imagine why they would not. I have a D-7100, and I have issues at all.

I was looking through reviews on other sites and this product was recommended and at an affordable cost. I purchased this to not only use on the camera but also inside a softbox and its amazing. I couldnt be happier with it. Just the test photos Ive taken around the house and then the photos during the holidays have been a game changer. I was looking to upgrade my equipment after upgrading cameras and got it right with this purchase. It was easy to go to the Neewer site and fill out the warranty info, the directions with the kit were easy to follow and set up was easy. If youre looking for a flash with a wireless controller you wont be disappointed.
