I really wanted to knock off one star because the motor is extremely noisy, and may not be suitable for certain situations where you need to quiet. But after looking this flash, checking out the menus, the build quality, I just cant remove a star for that. This is a fine piece of gear, well built, and nearly every option available in the $250 - $400 speed lights. The TTL feature works seamlessly with my Nikon D200, the zoom is a little bit slow, but thats no problem, other than it being noisy, the light output is great as well but can be a little to focused when trying to shoot close ups, I suggest using the bounce card. Its very intuitive, easy to use, especially in TTL, you can literally attach it to the camera and shoot straight out of the box. I will be shooting some portraits in four days, and will edit my review to reflect my opinion of this flash after seeing how well it performs. Prior to using this flash, our family photos looked dull and color less. If we used the built-in flash, everything was washed out. We take mostly indoor photos of our family using our Nikon D3300. We are very surprised on the difference this flash makes. We are by no means professionals. I turned on the camera, turned on the flash, and did not change any of the functions. Maybe I will figure out those at some point, but maybe not. For basic use, which is what I need it for, this works perfectly. Example photos. Taken while pointed directly at a very reflective chest. I think this is a must-have for the value. It does NOT have High Speed Sync - which was a disappointment, but Ive found it to still be a 5 star value. What I love most about this is the exposures - the power seems to be consistent and it works well with a diffuser. Exposures seem to always be accurate without needing compensation! wow I love using this for a bounce - others Ive found just dont have quite the consistency Ive come to love and rely on from this one. The zoom range is from 18-180, but I dont think it is actually as wide as 18 and the 180 might be slightly overstated also. In my humble opinion, this is simply a reliable workhorse of a speedlite that nobody should overlook at this price!

This flash is EXACTLY what you want if you are only an occasional flash user, but want something that produces better results than the pop of flash on your Nikon DSLR, and you do not choose to tie up several hundred dollars in the admittedly excellent Nikon Speedlights. I ordered my first one with the idea of sending it as a gift to my friend who is a budding photographer and who gets my old Nikon gear when I upgrade from time to time. It arrived today, and I decided to test it out. I opened up the box and did not even consult the manual. I popped in some fresh batteries and put it on a D7000 I had laying around. I just switched left it as it came out of the box, which is defaulted to TTL. I then took a series of shots with direct flash, and bounce flash. Direct flash looks good, bounce flash looks great. The unit zooms automatically and is accurate, but do remember if it is not zooming to wake up your Nikon if it has been a bit between shots. I repeated the same shots with my Nikon SB-600 and my Nikon SB-800 and they were identical in results to this flash. I then, without ever opening the manual, was easily able to set up remote TTL flash. I just set my D7000 in Commander Mode, set the Neewer flash to S2 mode and was able to fire it off camera with great results, again indistinguishable from my Nikon Speedlights. This unit is clearly a knock-off of the SB-800 and a very good one, Construction quality is not quite as good, and this unit may not last quite as long, but given that a used SB-800 is $300 and this one is $52 brand new, youd have to break six of these before you lost money on the deal. As much s I love my Nikon gear, unless you are using your Speedlight daily, just buy one. If you want to play with more than one light, these make great spares. I was so impressed that since this is a gift, I just ordered two more for myself!

LOVE THIS FLASH! Ive done a few portrait sessions with this flash and it works great. The final test will be the wedding that Im shooting this weekend. will update after Update on the flash- used it during a wedding. pics came out just fine. and I only went through ONE set of batteries! I couldnt believe it! Mind you, I wasnt bursting any pic with the flash. It still worked amazingly for the price

I am an occasional photographer and get this flash to give it a try with my Nikon D3200. It improves a lot the quality of the photographies. I did some shots with this flash and the one with the built in flash that the camera brings with it. The difference is huge: when I use the Nikon D3200 built in flash, the lighting in the face of the person is sufficient (although it does not look as a pro shot) but in the back it looks dark (compared with the lighting levels in the face of the person I took a test portrait). With the Neewer 750II, the lighting everywhere is much better than in the previous case. Since I have no lightmeter, for the test I set the camera to "Portrait" mode and the flash in TTL mode (automatic) and pointed the flash to the ceiling (about 3 meters of height). It did a great job. Definitely, it is worth more than its price. The I used it for a wedding (not as the official photographer, but I wanted to give it a more complete test to the flash) and I was really surprised by the difference in the quality of the lighting it provides in every situation. It is just fantastic.

I thought the inconsistent levels of light were just my imagination, but I see others have noticed the same. I just purchased this 2 months ago. What really results in the low rating is what happened when I was at a professional shoot yesterday. Luckily I was shooting the last room, but unluckily it was the darkest room, a bathroom with no windows, when this flash decides to stop working. All lights and display were on, set to TTL, nothing changed since previous shot when it worked fine. I could not get the flash to fire under any circumstances, not even the Pilot would fire, on camera or off, yet ALL visual indicators on the flash indicate no problems. Very frustrated and I have another shoot to do today and I have to go with NO flash. :-( And of course the Amazon return window closed about 4 weeks ago. Ive emailed Neewer support, if they provide satisfactory assistance Ill update this review. UPDATE: I had a very satisfactory response from Neewer. They sent me a prepaid return label and also sent me a new flash! So far its working great! I did have to purchase a second flash during the transition, so I bought an identical Neewer. Now I have 2 and can try some off-camera flash work. Worked out great-

First time purchasing a speedlite so I was a little hesitant to purchase from a company that I hadnt heard of, however, Im so happy that I did! The quality of this product for the price is awesome, and it works perfectly with my Nikon D7100. Fast response time, easy controls and attractive design really shine at 1/3 the price of other speedlites. Its also a great pair with the Neewer Softbox attachement. I was skeptical about buying this type of cheap china made flash unit being that the nikon flashes are like 10 times more expensive but im glad i tried itbecause its worked out great. Im still a novice really to photography but the truth is that the difference light can make on people pictures and portraits is very huge. All my pics now inside are way better quality compared to using the stock pop up flash on my d3400. There is definetly a learning curve and ive been youtubing and edjucating myself on how to use flash. The unit itself has worked great and is easy to use. Its a basic flash with your basic functions. Good powerfull flash and overall great basic speed light.
