Godox TT685S HSS 1/8000S GN60 TTL Flash Speedlite 0.1-2.s Recycle Time 230 Full Power Flashes Supports TTL/M/Multi/S1/S2 Modes 20-200mm Auto/Manual Zooming for Sony DSLR with MI Shoe
I am using this Godox TT685S flash with a Godox X1T-S trigger on an a6000 camera. At first I could not increase the shutter speed above 1/160, but I discovered if I go into the settings on the camera and set the Flash Mode to SLOW, I would be able to change the shutter speed up to 1/4000 of a second, effectively using HSS with the trigger and flash.

Big and powerful flash that rapidly recycles even on 1/1 power. A little heavy and binding if you put on camera (I have a Sony a6300), but I use this flash off camera on a stand with the GODOX S-type bracket. The gel setup is awesome and easy to switch the colors ... and it stores the remaining gels in the pouch underneath. The softbox is a little more cumbersome but works ... I just happen to have another one on hand that I like to use better. BTW the little red brush thingy that they include as a gift is actually pretty useful for your lens while shooting out in the environment and picking up dust.

Ive shifted my hobby from general photography to family portraits. That is bringing me into the realm of flash photography which Ive ignored my whole life. It is quite a learning curve. I already had a Sony HVL-F60M which is supposed to be a very good flash. But I wanted to use it off camera so needed a transmitter which I bought. But I didnt know my Sony flash lacked the radio needed for full functionality. I could get it to flash remotely but could not control the power or zoom of the flash remotely. I bought this TT685S which just worked perfectly right out of the box. It was advertised as being able to become a master to my Sony flash, but it didnt work. The problem was the model of my Sony flash HVL-F60M had to be an HVL-F60RM. The "R" indicates radio. I hope these comments will help others because I spent hours learning this fact. Im using the Godox Pro S transmitter and two of these TT685S and the whole system works like a dream. I can trigger the remote flashes, control the power of the speedlights, and control the zoom of the speedlights, all from the camera position without having to walk to the flash units. Its also important to me that these units provide High Speed Sync. So far so good. Ill be using a two flash setup in a couple of days for a family portrait and will see how these work out in actual practice. Pros: - Easy setup. - Lots of features - Works well with other Godox devices on my Sony cameras. Cons: - I wish the backlight would stay on longer.

I now own two of these because theyre very dependable and work great with the Sony cameras with the multi-interface shoe. I currently use it on the Sony A7iii. When I use the TT685S, I most of the time have it plugged into my external power pack also made by Godox. I shoot event photos where I need a consistent flash even when bursting a bunch of shots, and it does the job very well. I havent used much with just the batteries as power supply, so in that retrospect I wouldnt have an honest opinion. But with the Propac power supply by Godox, I highly recommend these for Sony cameras.

Love the HSS and power from this flash! I use it in a Cheetah softbox and I get awesome results. I pair it with the X1Ts controller and its really a killer combo. So glad these flash units have come down so much in price and capability. When mounted on my A6300 its a bit big, so I opt to use the smaller baby brother 350S if I need that. But for easy light studio softbox, this is a great option. The battery life is decent enough (obviously not as good as the Lith Ion version) but this is quite a bit less in price, and I only usually need 60-100 shots anyways (so its nice to have an extra set of batteries charging up if I need it).

When burglars stole my Canon cameras, I replaced them with Sony. I need multiple flash units, but having already bought Canon flashes at such high prices, I was ready to see what a 3rd party vendor could do. I bought two of these just over a year ago. Build quality seems on a par with Canon. Light quality, coverage, evenness, spread -- every bit as good as my Canon flashes, and at less than half the cost for similar power. I bought two of these to round out my kit to 4 flashes. They all communicate perfectly well; I use one as a master to dial up or down the power on the others without walking away from my camera and my shot. I also have one of their control units in case I want all four flashes off-camera -- it too works great. I havent yet tried them with big soft boxes or umbrellas (other than the tiny ones that often come with these); I have some studio flashes for that kind of work. I may try it in the future so I can be more portable. They seem to do really well on battery life as well. I keep a boatload of batteries on me in any case, so I havent paid a huge amount of attention to battery life, but I recently noticed that I had done 3 or 4 shoots (Im a realtor that did professional photography on the side, once upon a time. I like to shoot my own pictures because I dont like the quality of even a lot of the pros around here) on the same set of batteries with no problems at all. Im shooting with a Sony RX10 Mk 4. The flashes do communicate with the camera and match their zoom with the cameras (when in their range - the camera has more range at either end than the flash). If youre on the fence, Id encourage you to go for it. Youll spend a lot less than OEM and your images will be every bit as good.

I bought this speedlight to use with my Sony A6000 camera. I also bought the Godox X1T-S radio trigger and both work brilliantly. The speedlight comes with a foot stand and is housed in a nice soft case. Also included is a pretty good user manual. I use the supplied mini soft box way more than I thought I would. I take lots of automotive photographs and the mini soft box makes a nice improvement over nothing at all. It folds up flat and stows neatly in my camera bag. Im so impressed with the Godox quality at this price point I will purchase a Godox AD200 TTL pocket Flash which will give about three times the power of a speedlight in a similar size. Very pleased with the shipment time too. Arrived in ten days to me way down here in New Zealand. Over all I couldnt be happier. Great product and great service by Amazon and Pergear.

Very powerful flash for the a6000. I bought the mini one originally and had to return it because the power and recycle time didnt work for me. This flash satisfies my needs and more. I have the xi trigger as well but I havent tried it yet. Im sure itll work fine since it has the built in receiver. The foot like everyone says is made out of plastic but it seems sturdy enough. So far.. loving this flash. Sample shot attached.

Bought this for use with my Sony a6000 and it works great. Really large flash and very powerful. This item came with a bunch of other accessories that I have not used yet. Having TTL and HSS is useful and its solidly built. The OEM Sony flashes are 2-3x the cost and offer the same functionality, and might not even be as powerful. LED screen is easy to read as well. Do yourself a favor and start elevating your photography game by learning how to do flash photography. Also suggest looking at some rechargeable batteries like the Eneloops or the Amazon basics ones.

This is a great option if you need a flash for your Sony camera. The build quality seems good although I haven’t had it long. Make sure you don’t throw away the little plastic but that covers the bottom of the flash. Sony cameras have different connectors than Canon or Nikon and the co facts are easier to damage. Always put it back on when the flash is not in use. The extra accessories are almost, but not quite, totally useless.
Make sure this fitsby entering your model number. Fully Support HSS(Max.1/8000S), front and rear curtain sync, FEC, Multi flash, Manual flash, TTL/M/Multi/S1/S2 modes, 20-200mm auto/manual zooming etc. GN60, 22 steps of power output(1/1~1-128); Approx.0.1-2.s recycle time, 230 full power flashes(using 2500mA Ni-MH batteries). With C.fn cutom function settings. Optical transmission with even illuminatin and stable output. 2.4G wireless trnasmission with all-in-one functions and 100 meters further transimission. With dot-matrix LCD panel to offer clear and easy operation. Use 4 function buttons to change various settings according to different situations. TT685S is compatibe with Sony Wireless Lighting System(WL). As a mster unit TT685S can control Sony cameras flashes e.g. HVL-F60M, HVL-F43M and HVL-F32M via wireless. As a slave unit, TT685S can be controlled by wireless signals of Sony camera flashes e.g. HVL-F60M, HVL-F43M and HVL-F32M. \(^o^)/Kindly Note that Focus Assist won't work for Sony mirrorless cameras. Whether the Focus assist works dependes on the camera actually. For mirrorless cameras such as ILCE6000L A7RII,Focus Assist Beam will not work even with Sony Original Flash.
