This flash is awesome! I did know what to expect because I had the previous (ii) model paired with my 70d but this is better. I like the spin wheel and the quick option and cfm menu. Its a stream lined version of the previous and I think much better. 4 stars because when I received it, the flash ir sensor in the front had a few scuffs on it that didnt wipe away. No biggie. 10/10 will buy again

I have owned multiple speedlites and hotshoe flashes over my time as a photographer. This one is by far the smallest, lightest, fastest and best one I have ever owned. When paired with my diffuser, I am able to get a dynamic range of lighting to capture exactly what I need. A vast majority to the trick is knowing where to aim the light and at what intensity, so the biggest reason for me to upgrade to this one was simply on speed alone. It is by far my fastest one, and I highly recommend it!

I really like this flash unit. I am somewhat new to serious photography, so am still learning. I use this flash with a Canon EOS Rebel SL 1 and they work together on fully automatic very well. This flash unit has helped me get rid of some of the yellow tones I was experiencing while taking event photos inside a large church, where the lighting from overhead is a bit in the yellow/orange range. I have taken about 280 photos with this so far and it has worked great every time. I do think it was worth getting this as a step up from the built in flash, which is nowhere near as powerful. As I improve my photography skills the unit has the capability to grow with me, and I am looking forward to that.

Replaced my old Speedlite because the batteries became burning hot after extended use which I thought was caused by it getting wet from a downpour. Turned out this new model does the same. Been using it for months without a problem except I need to upgrade to the 600EX so I can use an external power pack. The batteries would get so hot they stop producing until they are cooled down. Once they are cooked theyre pretty much toast.

The speedlite flash does a good job but its a little smaller than I thought. Havent tried it on a longer lens yet but hope the short height of the flash doesnt create a lens shadow. I wish the bounce lock could be permanently set to lock and/or unlock like my sony flash does for my sony a7r camera since I tend to swivel the flash head occasionally while shooting and that bounce lock button is a bit difficult and awkward to get to while you have your camera in a shooting position. The flash head also feels a bit looser than my sony flash. All in all, its a flash and it does its job.

I bought this used, so there were items not included with mine. However, I got the important things: the flash unit, carrying case, table stand and manual. I believe there is a CD and a light difuser box included if bought new. I watched a YouTube video on the unboxing and demonstration of the functions. Most intersting function not covered in the manual is that it can be used as remote for the camera. Pretty neat!

Great for beginners and hobbyists. If you shoot pictures more frequently, you might want to look down the Canon Speedlite product line with a higher number. Rechargable batteries are highly recommended with this if you dont want to keep buying AA batteries. Dont get me wrong, the battery life on this thing is not too bad. It lasted me through 5 different shoots so far.

Lots of choices for flash/speedlite these days. I took a long time to decide and didnt get wrapped up in cost. I didnt want to spend this much but decided that it was the best cost/value and I am glad that I stuck with Canon. The feel of this is solid and the attachment is secure. Has all the features that I need as a serious amateur. Sometimes name-brand is the best!!!

Absolutely no regrets! It was more than what I needed when I bought it a few months back but Im growing into it. Some of the reviews said the recycle time is too long when doing back to back pictures. I havent found that to be the case but I"m not shooting professionally. Most of my use is family functions or off camera shots for fill.

I purchased this flash, not wanting to put down the coin for the 600EX. So far we are pleased with the performance of this speedlight. Ive found that it also works well as a radio master with our Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II. Would recommend.
