We ordered this LED ring to replace our old fluorescent ring used for inspection of small parts and to improve illumination when taking pictures under the microscope. The product is very flimsy and if you arent careful enough, you may end damaging it during installation. The light intensity can be adjusted from very dim to reasonably strong, but since the diameter of the ring is very small compared to similar illuminators, it produces uneven results and a lot of vignetting. The ring adapter that comes with it is a poorly made piece of plastic which makes it almost impossible to attach the ring to the microscope in a precise way, and then you will end having a tilted illumination source that will produce undesired shadows and crazy color changes when taking pictures. If you only need basic illumination for your microscope and you are in a tight budget, this product may work; but I would strongly recommend that you look for other alternatives. You will definitely find much better products that wont cost much more.
