I absolutely LOVE this camera. Its very easy to use. The only complaint I have is that the sensor is very expensive to get replaced. I had mine for over a year and there were scratches all over it. I had no idea how they got there. I thought it was dust when I sent it in to get cleaned... the cleaning was $30, the new sensor was around $400. Be very cautious when changing lenses. Dont let it be exposed for too long!

This is the most comfortable camera Ive ever held in my hand. Im sure this varies by hand size, but I find it great! The top-mounted LCD info display is very useful. Id forgotten how convenient it can be. Personally, I leave the LCD display folded inward to save battery life. Its great to see useful information at a glance. So much easier than calling it up on the display! Id read that this camera has mediocre low-light performance. Coming from an A57, I am delighted with the low-light performance. If the light isnt sufficient, it can take 3 shots and combine them into one great low-light show. Cool trick. It even has a night scene mode which shots great night shots hand-held. I was surprised to see scene settings on this big DSLR. Even if youre used to setting up your own shot, I find these scene settings quick and accurate. The EVF is a joy to use. Very detailed and accurate. Likewise, the back LCD articulates well and can even be seen from the front of the camera, top or bottom! I was waiting for the A68 to be released, but when I read how cheaply it was made (plastic lens mount), I opted to go for the A77II. The A77II is made like my old A700 with a magnesium body, weather proof seals, and long life shutter. Love the Image Quality (IQ). Im getting great shots with a huge choice of light and focus settings. The automatic and scene modes make great shots too. Ive been waiting for 4 years since I bought my last Sony camera. Im convinced that this is the best Sony camera youll ever see that is (natively) compatible with the old line of Sony/Minolta lenses. Since Sony has deemphasized the old line, many vendors are offering them at bargain prices. You can even get some great prime Minolta lenses on ebay. Go on-line and get a manual. This camera is awesome. The wifi capabilities matched with the playstation memories app (Android/IOS) makes instant posting of pictures a possibility for you to share with friends on social media, email, etc. I used to have an A200 prior to this camera and this is more than an upgrade. It is easy to take pictures in low light environments especially for non-professional photographers who typically do not understand how to manipulate their camera in such situations.

Im going to keep this review short because, if youre seriously looking at buying an $1,800 camera, you already have a pretty good idea of what you want and are probably just reading reviews for moral support before you hit the "purchase" button! That said, I am extremely happy with the performance of my new A77ii. I have had the camera for almost a month and have shot several sessions with it including senior portraits, graduations, and a family event. The results have been exceptional and the camera is a joy to shoot with. Pros include, nearly instant (and accurate) auto-focus, seemingly endless buffer capacity, exceptional image quality, and vastly improved high ISO performance. All I can say about the EVF is WOW! It is brilliant and silky smooth! Battery life has been surprisingly good. My first battery charge lasted for 1,300 shots and I was down to about 30% capacity. I honestly have no complaints so far, simply a fantastic camera IMHO.

So far, so good. I bought this to replace older Konica Minolta and Sony Alpha cameras-- lots of lenses for them. I moved on to Canon and L glass but wanted to get to use the Sony lenses at our beach place and the older cameras just didnt have it anymore. This new Sony, after a day or two of shooting, is a big step up from the older ones above and well see how its sensor compares to the Canons--5D Mark I and III.

sony a77i is a great camera. the color is much better than my a55. i like the DRO. DRO is fantastic in this camera because when you use this in landscape the picture is like real and when you take portrait inside the house with a very bright backround outside, the camera will automatically brighten the person while the background outside is properly exposed. that is why i always set the iso in auto and the DRO is on, this settings makes my camera automatic, just turn it on and ican take a shot right away. of course the main reason i like sony camera is because of the EVF. the autofocus is very fast. i like the focus limiter for fast moving subject, the lock-on AF for portrait and slow moving subject. and the effortless face detection function for portrait but very effective. one cool thing also is that you can choose or change what functions you want in function menu. about the low light just go to ISO setting choose high-iso NR and choose jpeg and you can get noise free photo up to iso 25000(cool). what i really like about this camera is this is moist and weather sealed and has a magnessium body plus weather sealed lens...WOW!

I have been looking at upgrading from my Sony a65 for some time now. The a77II worked out great since I already have many lenses that work with it. I took some pictures of Cedar Waxwings eating mulberries today and it was very fast and accurate. I am very satisfied and looking forward to many more opportunities to use it. Thanks for a great camera at a great price!

This DSLR is dope, I bought it as a gift, Id say user wise it easily competes with my Nikon D800, not spec wise but the final results Image wise produced by this camera are amazing, the user interface is very user friendly, Im well beyond amature skill level but definitely not a professional, If I was to ever leave Nikon Id use Sony and this camera in particular.

As long as you are not shooting in very dark environments (where the light loss trade-off of the SLT pellicle mirror creates a hit in the noise department) - this is one of the best cameras Ive owned and used. I am a 2 system shooter - Canon and Sony. Sony has it down in the features department - in body stabilization is HUGE, finder is outstanding, frame-rate is real - believe the hype on DPReview.

This was an upgrade to my A77 and what an upgrade it was! The ISO performance is WAY superior and the AF is fantastic. Ive also noticed improved DR in my photos, especially the ones from Antelope Canyon that I just processed. The controls are the same and it was an easy transition. Im committed to the A-Mount, and hopefully Sony is as well. I like the feel and balance of a larger framed camera, especially on the larger lenses like the 70-400MM
