The first time I used this camera, it was as though I had been using it for years. Dials and buttons were just where they should have been. Oddly, although I have somewhat small hands, the largest of the detachable grips felt most comfortable. Maybe because the camera is rather hefty for its compact size, which I like a lot; it feels very well-made and sturdy. This was my first camera with a movable screen. I didnt figure that would matter, but it does. Nice to be able to get shots from low and high angles that would have been guesses on another camera. Didnt miss the LCD screen that would have been on the top, if it was bigger. The data works fine on the back. The Kps low light performance is better than that of my K3, I do a lot of low light work, so thats a big plus. Biggest drawback is the smaller battery that dies sooner than the hefty ones in earlier Pentax DSLRs. I always carry at least two spares, and so far, Ive not had to use more than two in a days shooting. One thing Ive noticed about digital cameras; while loved some of my old film cameras, I never actually loved a digital camera. I have a nostalgic fondness for some of the old ones, but not the digital ones, which seemed somehow more temporary than the Spotmatic ever did. The Kp might change all that.

For me its a 5 plus star, I upgraded for the Ks-1 so the improvement was big so many features on this new KP and Ive only had it for about a month great Camera.

This camera really is the best of both worlds. It feels like a mirrorless in its compact size, and many of its features. For example, focus peaking, Shake reduction, live view. It also has the best of a DSLR with its beautiful optical viewfinder, quick response times, buttons, customization, weather sealing. Image quality is superb and the Pentax limited lenses are an ideal fit for the KP, keeping the size compact and the appearance gorgeous. Great job Pentax!

DSLR small as a mirrorless, light weight, but tough and weatherproof as all Pentax cameras. Super combined with the 20-40 WR Limited red ring. Easy to operate, ver responsive. Excellent dynamic range. Great in low light. Compare all the features for the price. I also own the Pentax K1 II full frame but I am currently traveling and I am glad I decided to bring the KP smaller APSC. I did not buy it from Amazon this time but felt that I have share my experience with camera.
