The Nikon F4/F5/F6 series are the best film cameras made. I am partial to the F4, possibly because I used it for so long, but the F6 is fine too. The F6 is too pricey for me, considering the additional cost of processing E6 slide film.

I like the F5 so far, loaded batteries and film, havent shot any frames yet so none has been developed. In good shape and received promptly. However, seller wasnt kidding when they stated "body only". Did not receive a a camera body cap. It came in a sealed zip-loc bag. I mean really! Didnt happen to have a spare body-cap for a Nikon lying around a camera shop. Really cheap... Though, the camera seems to work great and is on good shape.

Item arrived on time and was in fully working condition. Packed well. It exceeded my expectations on conditions of the body. It can be considered a little bit used (though its around 10 years, since it was produced). This may be due to the body sturdiness itself, but I really like the condition. Meet the best film dslr ever! It still rocks even in 2014. You cant mimic film look with digital SLRs.

This Camera is an absolute monster. It weighs a ton..... be sure youre ready for a workout if you buy this. I havent developed the film yet but, I like the camera. I figured out most of the settings pretty easily. It has a very nice and fast shutter speed. I love that...although, it would be easy to burn through an expensive roll of film pretty quickly. When all is said and done.... I think that, this camera would if hit by a nuclear blast....survive and evolve into a species all its own, whilst everything around it perish and wither away. The F5 would live on as a legacy.... & please, dont let me drop this on my foot. Id need emergency treatment. lol

The epitome for film photography. Got mine in mint condition through another channel than Amazon for 1/10 of what it would have cost 20 years ago. It is like buying your first Porsche, not Perfect but pretty close. It is darn heavy but feels great in your hand, and AF does not work with some more recent third party lenses like the Tamron Gold rings - not sure why because they work on my F100. The issue now is to find a really good scanner for its great shots.

I just got this camera a couple days ago, all though i have not developed my first roll yet, i am extremely happy with my second ever film camera. I had one cheap 35mm film inexpensive Nikon camera about 15 years ago and i was actually not into photograpy at that time. I currently own a D7000 and i have it paired with my D7000. Bottom line, i am incredibly fortunate i ran accross this beast, i LOVE BIG AND HEAVY cameras. The view finder is HUUUUUGE!! lOVE IT! For a long time i have kept my eye on a FF body but it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to afford one of the current FF body, even a USED D700. I find this camera incredibly fascinating because there is no LCD to preview any photo, so there is an internal emotion and anciety to find out how your photos will come out. A film camera certainly makes you use your brain before you actually take a shot, and not just BLAST OFF like a digital camera assuming that the camera will do everything right for you. It is actually extremely sad that not too many people shoot film anymore and that the majority have become lazy photographers that want everything easy. I cant wait to see that old classic look result from this camera in color and specially black and white, stuff that cannot be duplicated by none of the current DSLR cartoonish technology. As of 9/6/20012: I just developed my first film rolls and got the photos in a DVD. I am very pleased with my camera. I am actually impressed on how the photos can look very much like digital after PP. Of course they wont match the sarpness and detailed look of digital, but the photos are nice, specially going back to that "old" film look. For my first roll I actually used cheap film, just to start getting the hang of it, now i do have a higher prefessional film in it and cant wait to see what the next batch of photos will look like.
Make sure this fitsby entering your model number. Please note that this is a camera body only and that a Nikon AF-series lens (or comparable) is required for operation Built-in atomatic film advance is capable of shooting up to 8 continuous exposures per second An exclusive, internal RGB light meter divides the image into 1005 discrete units and clearly analyzes the figures against images in its memory to help provide the optimal setting Adjustable center-weight metering for more precise small-area metering (ie. fashion photography) Multiple exposure control settings and exposure compensation variances
