Great replacement / upgrade for my Nikon D600. The camera is really great and that it came in a kit with the same two lenses I had on my previous camera was a real plus. I am looking forward to a lot of good photo shooting ahead.

I know the D600 had issues, but the 610 NONE! I love this thing and take it everywhere. The speed it focuses, meters, adapts are great. The only thing I wish it had was dedicated ISO buttons like the D800. While the D600 does have a dual purpose ISO button, Id rather it be dedicated on the top or side. I love the speed of the shutter, it moves so quick and solid it feels like a machine gun, and it feels like its built to work. Ive had a Nikon D60, D90, and now the D610 and its my favorite. Ive given my D90 to my opposite, and she used to love it but now shes played with my D610 I have to fight her off. I debated quite a while on getting a D7100 and not going full frame, but in the end im glad I did. Going full frame has given me so much more in my frames, and the opportunity to utilize my entire lens collection much better. Also going back to DX lens has with this camera is a snap, it automatically switches back and shows a box within the viewfinder on whats in the frame. The only negative thing about this camera is the battery life, this thing eats batteries so be prepared to purchase a replacement battery. The ISO range and quality on this camera is subperb compared to my other models, where before moving above 1000 ISO was amost a no go, with the D610 its no problem the pictures still look amazing.

Coming from someone who has own a multitude of cameras, this has been the best by far. I did quite extensive research into Nikons and this one sold me. Solid build, more than decent kit lense and to top it off, awesome pictures. I have had so much fun with this camera, I look for any reason to go out and shoot. The bag this kit comes with is extremely big, considering that if this is all you have for gear, but it certainly offers up extra room if needed for lenses and other gear. The memory card included performs as it should and makes for a great extra, since this camera handles two cards. I am still learning with this camera, but it is a joy to work with. I love the challenge and furthermore, my hobby is taking off.

I was hoping it would be at least close to a replacement for my aged D700. Files are very nice and the high ISO stuff is great but the camera just doesnt handle well. Ive had it for about a year and it still just doesnt feel right. Button locations and functions just arent as intuitive as previous models Ive used. That said, the autofocus performance (or lack of) is the real disappointment. It just isnt anywhere near what I was expecting. Video quality is very nice so long as you dont use autofocus and the built-in microphone at the same time.

Excellent full frame camera. Upgraded from the nikon d5200. All my photos are taken now with this camera and the nikon 50mm 1.8 lens (prime lens). Could be better in low light as you seem to get a little noise when you crank the iso up, but if you are planing to shoot when there is plenty of light you will get great images. If your planning on shooting in low light situations, like lots of weddings you should probably bump up to the d750. This camera fit my budget and was a wonderful buy, stepped up my game big time. 5 stars would recommend to others.

This camera is fantastic! So many features you could write a book on them for a very good price. Highlightes: dual slots for 2 memory cards, 24mp full frame FX sensor ( you could blow these pics up to billboard size ), 100% viewfinder coverage optical viewfinder, light weight for a well built, weather sealed semi pro camera, nice 3.2"LCD, great video capability1080/30p or 24p as well as 720/60,50&30p for slow motion or HD mpeg 4 avch, 6 frames per second continuous,Nikons great high ISO performance ISO 100 to 25,600.See the great online reviews by DPreview and Ken Rockwell for in depth specs and comparisons. Of course you must have good glass ( high end lenses) like Nikon 70-200mm f2.8, 50 f1.4 and 20-70mm f2.8 FX full size sensor type to get the maximum performance and results from this camera,

It works great. It seems so much more like the old film cameras I had. I hated the DX format, it was confusing and never looked right to me. I also find the colors to be more vibrant with this camera compared to my d90. The two lenses work great so far. They are quick and sharp as can be for zoom lenses. I cant wait for it to quit being 110 degrees so I can get outside and shoot. I do have to complain about the lousy packaging, Amazon. I purchased this plus accessories, which shipped separately. They were about $100 and came inside a box, inside another box, inside a final box, padding between each layer prevented the boxes inside from rolling around. The $3000 camera was many individual manufacturer boxes inside a Nikon kit box, inside a large brown box that was ill-fitting. I didnt see it when I signed as the UPS man handed it to me good side up, but the entire back end was dented and open, denting the inner Nikon box and one of the lens boxes as well. What the hell? There was about 1 foot of empty space in the big box that was "cushioned" by a piece of crumpled brown paper. Didnt work. The fed ex smaller package by contrast had packing peanuts and air pillows. The camera might as well have been shipped just in the Nikon boxes alone as nothing protected them. So far, nothing seems broken.
