OK, we are new to the land of DSLRs and I seriously spent 4 hours researching them and the difference between full frame and non full frame. For our use and the price I was confident the Nikon D5300 (non full frame) would be perfect for what we wanted. Almost went with Cannon but the features on the D5300 swayed me. HOWEVER, I made one mistake, I paid extra to receive the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens which is MUCH different from a AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G VR Lens. VR stand for Vibration Reduction. The ED 70-300 lens that comes in this bundle is not a VR and you will quickly realize you would never willingly buy a NON VR lens for this camera. Now the other lens that comes with the camera is a VR: AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens, which is excellent and what you want. So, even though I love my camera and we are having a blast and getting lots of exercise looking for the perfect gator and bird shots, I feel a bit deceived and like the seller took advantage of my lack of knowledge. If I were to do it over again, I would buy the camera with the 18-55mm lens and buy the 70-300 VR lens separate, which is the lens I need to buy now that I know better.

This is probably more Camera than I know what to do with. This was genuine NikonUSA (not grey market international version) with a one year Camera warranty and five year warranty on both lenses. Both Lenses auto focus. I dont have any negatives yet

Good entry level camera. The kit lens is ok to walk around with. I would recommend the telephoto be used while the camera is on a tripod though. I have used this camera body with Nikon 24-120mm f4, sigma 150-600mm, and others. If your not getting the results you are looking for, try upgrading your lens from the ones included in this kit. This camera body is capable of getting surprisingly good photos.

Fantastic camera, already put it though quite a workload and it is working great as ever. People call the 5000 series "entry level" but I have loved every one Ive used! Heres some pics taken with it as shameless self-promotion hehe

Im a beginner, had this camera a few months and absolutely love it. Super easy to use, settings are not confusing. Have taken some great shots already. Looking forward to getting around this summer and filling my walls with pictures from my outings.

Nice Dlsr, I recommend upgrading your lenses as the bundled lenses work well but are not the best quality. They are a little soft especially on the zoom. My 3400 seems to take better photos, but still happy with the 5300. If you have the money upgrading to the 7200 would be a better choice.

I was supposed to have received a Nikon case but received an off-brand instead and the case was too small for the camera and the lens. The camera is good but you would think a bundle would include a case that would be large enough the camera, lenses and at least a few small accessories...but not!

Le doy 5 estrellas, el producto llego antes de lo mencionado. Del uso luego les platico. Por el momento todo viene en su lugar.
