This purchase was a disappointment. The D3400s shutter release failed a couple of months after making the purchase. The camera is now back with Nikon; who knows for how long. But that is a camera issue and, though disappointing, not the reason for this review. I wanted to tell you about the equipment bundle and make a suggestion. Looking at the product photographs, I thought this would be a great deal, saving me a ton of money on the accessories that I would otherwise have to buy. It wasnt. Start with the flash... made by Vivitar, this cheap plastic flash took forever to cycle and had a tendency to discharge randomly, both on and off the camera. The extendable upper sleeve extended right off the body and wouldnt go back on. Utterly useless. Went back and bought a decent i-TTL speed flash, which works very well. Next, the tripod... cheap, lightweight, mostly plastic. Another useless accessory. Too lightweight to prevent camera vibration, even indoors. One of the legs appeared bent and would not extend. Even with the head tightened, the camera would gradually tilt downwards. I ended up replacing it with a used, but solid, Manfrotto (excellent tripod). The bag... tiny, cheaply made, and largely useless. I know it shouldnt matter, but the bag has a plastic/metal badge, "VidPro", on the front. Apparently, a leftover, bottom-of-the-line camcorder bag. Ill keep it, in case I ever buy a bottom-of-the-line camcorder, but had to buy a camera bag that was made for a DSLR and lenses. Remote shutter release never worked once, even with a new battery. Replaced it with a Nikon remote which works perfectly. One other point you should consider when buying this camera - it does not have a port for attaching a cabled shutter release and it is not wifi capable - both of which I needed but didnt think to check for before buying. The flash storage is OK but I decided to replace the two cards the kit provided with one high-speed, large capacity card that would allow me to shoot bursts of RAW images. The little cleaning kit was awesome. Bottom line--- The camera itself was fine, when it worked. Not so much after 8 weeks. By the way, I did contact the seller by email, within a couple of weeks of purchase, but they never responded. I hate Amazon affiliates that dont live up to Amazons standards on things like customer service. But I digress... I wholeheartedly recommend that you avoid buying this camera, as a kit, from this seller. I paid $579 for this bundle, which included a camera/lens combo that Amazon sells for as little as $400. So I spent about $179 on a bunch of dirt cheap, after-market rubbish that all had to be replaced. If you are thinking about buying this bundle, dont. Buy the camera and lens from a reputable dealer (maybe one that responds to customer enquiries?) and then purchase the accessories you need, when you need them.

Like the camera, but some items in the bundle are totally unusable. The external Digital Slave Flash unit that comes with the bundle does not fit directly onto the hotshoe on the camera (in the picture you can see where the hotshoe started to scape plastic off the foot of the flash unit when trying to force it in, it wouldnt go in any farther than that), it only fits onto the mounting bracket that comes with the flash unit. But the mounting bracket has the wrong size threading and wont screw into the socket on the bottom of the camera like its supposed to. So the external flash has no way it can be used. Second, the wrist grip strap has the correct size threading to screw into the bottom socket on the camera, but the screw is too long, therefore the grip panel that is supposed to fit snugly to the bottom of the camera to secure the grip in place still swings around 360° when screwed in as far as it will go, making it unusable. Lastly just a minor nuisance, the screen protectors have to be cut down to fit the screen. Bedsides those things I like the rest of the bundle, but the point of paying for the bundle is so I dont have to get the accessories separately, which I will now have to do.

I love this camera. I am not a professional and I am one to rely on my phone to take pictures however I now find myself grabbing my camera to take pictures of everything. It came in a great travel pack so I have everything I need at all times. The best feature of the camera....it automatically uploads to my phone so I can send the pictures out to anyone at any time!!!!

Well, I am overall very satisfied with this package. Some folks are complaining about the "quality" of the items. For what the package is, and the price point, I say the quality is spot on. The tripod at least was aluminum. Everything else, that wasnt included in with the camera, was name brand. Vivitar. Some people said it didnt come with a battery or charger so I bought the extra batteries and charger. I shouldnt have listened. It came with the Nikon brand battery and factory charger. Th SD card is as shown. The only thing that was a touch on the lower end of quality was the bag. Its kind of cheap and under sized but I didnt buy this package for the bag. And honestly, the thing wont spend much time in a bag anyways. And I ordered it on a Wednesday morning and got it Thursday by 11am. Pretty impressed. Not sure what the others had to complain about. No complaints here. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing customer service!! I received the camera in perfect condition. It was missing a battery but it included everything else that was listed. I emailed about the issue and 2 days later I had a battery pack in my mail box at a different address than the one I originally ordered it for. This was no issue for them to work with me since I had moved. Awesome customer service truly!! Fast response to emails. Within hours my issue was resolved. :) Not to mention the camera is excellent quality and I am so excited to be learning how to use it. Very light weight (not what I expected) and small for such a powerful camera. For the price you really get SO much in this package that would cost more to buy everything separately. The camera bag has velcro compartment dividers so you can adjust the size inside for just what you need. The zippered pockets on the outside are also great! I am able to fit almost all of the accessories that came with the package (minus the tripod of course) into the camera bag making it easy to take the whole thing and just go! -Happy first time camera buyer

Am absolutely blown away by this camera and all... ALL... the fun accessories that came bundled with it! They put a great deal of thought into what youd need with a new camera and Im thrilled. The camera is a delight to use and Im looking forward to putting all the features to use. Took a few experimental shots with it and the results were even better than expected. And, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from the vendor thanking me for my purchase and later another one asking how I liked it. Refreshing to have such wonderful customer service! Very pleased with this purchase and if youre in the market for a really nice camera, I think youll be very pleased with it and the customer service. :)

Nikon D3400 DSLR is an excellent product dont be fooled by the higher number cameras this camera does everything that they do with one exception it doesnt have WiFi and it doesnt have an external microphone Port or a touchscreen. Beyond that its picture quality and video are awesome. I highly recomawesomethis DSLR. Due to technology the Blu-rays it produces are better than video cameras from five years ago that cost over $100,000. There was no 4K, or 60 frame per second Blu-ray. Pictures are stunning in resolutions of 6000 x 4,000 theyre almost better than my eyes can see! Its now been nine months since my purchase. I have NO regrets. I dont care what else came out since my purchase.

The camera and Nikon lenses themselves are great but all the other accessories are throw-always. * The tripod is made out of cheap plastic and broke the first time I attached my camera to it. The said I’d have to return the entire bundle for a replacement. * The camera bag is made out of very cheap materials as well and ripped after a month. Again, Amazon did nothing to help since it was sold by an external seller. I normally have very good luck with Amazon but this has been a very frustrating ordeal. I purchased the camera for my wedding/honeymoon and have been having nothing but problems with the accessories since I purchased it. Stick to known brands, Amazon has a lot of garbage on their site. So disappointed :-(

We purchased this camera for our daughter to be able to take product pictures for our online business. We shopped around and found that on this camera, this was the best value for the amount of accessories that came with it. The camera is fantastic for the price we paid. Its easy to use and takes fantastic pictures. It came packaged nicely and we had no problems with damaged boxes or Broken products. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

My first DSLR! I have had and used various 35mm cameras in the past and point and shoot digital cameras. I have only used a few of accessories that came with the camera so far. I have only had an opportunity to use the two lenses, the SD card and a couple of filters, UV and CPL and a few cleaning supplies and the battery charger. I have taken close to a 1000 photographs with this camera so far. Battery life has been excellent. I have tried Auto, portrait, Sport, scene, night scene, shutter and aperture priority modes. The camera is light and easy to use. Shutter is responsive. In Sport mode I was able to get about 4 frames a second while holding down the shutter. The few times I used the built in flash it seemed powerful and the pictures came out well. Only downside is the bag that came with it is small and I couldnt figure out how to get everything in it (except the two tripods). The neck strap functions, but is quite scratchy. I ended up purchasing a backpack camera bag that has enough room to fit the camera with the lens attached, a much more comfortable neck strap and a couple of filters (58mm) for the 70-300 lens.
