Buyer beware! I bought a Nikon D3 listed in acceptable condition. The D3 arrived and worked great. After taking the camera to my local camera store I was told that the shutter count was 430.000! The D3 shutter is rated for 250.000. I now have to send the camera to a shop in California for a shutter replacement. This will coast me an additional $860! The Camera worked as advertised, the shutter count was not listed. I should have known that a camera listed as acceptable would have seen heavy use. Buyer beware!

Because this camera used . The buttons is hard use . The reason I’m holding on to this Nikon DLSR the Megapixels isn’t that high and when it works it’s great so that my computer has a rest from the other digital Cameras. Yes it’s a beast but I will work with it. The Nikon D3 is a beast but this used camera has its problems with its control buttons which it’s hard to used it gets stuck. All in all This seller had a damn good product. After four days I had realized the gem which I have purchased.

I purchased this D3 because of the aggressive price, not expecting it to be in MINT condition, especially because it was listed at Acceptable. It should have definitely be listed at Very Good or Like New, at a higher price but I’m not complaining lol. I would def purchase a camera from this store again. I highly recommend them, and I normally avoid reviews but because I’m still blown away about my recent purchase, I feel like I’m in debt to them lol. Thanks again guys!! I love my new D3! My friends think it’s a brand new camera.

I am not a professional, and I waited two years after my purchase to validate my initial conviction. And, surely I have no regret or any disappointment with the D3 investment. It delivers the quality, functionalities, and dependability as advertised. Coupled with your skill, you can have it work with expensive as well as legacy glasses and take equally great pictures or art work to your satisfaction. Maybe, it takes a little bit longer time to learn its all tricks ( I am still discovering along the way), but D3 has all-around solid strength. I also like to comment that amazon delivered this camera in a great condition, and I have no reservation making this type of purchase from amazon.

This camera is a beast. Heavy, very heavy and stable. In dx can get 11 frames per sec. Great for surfing action.

I am so excited to own this camera. It was labeled like new with the box and everything, but didnt have a shutter count listed. But the price was great, so I went for it. The body is in excellent condition! And the buttons feel good. I tested it out and it works. So I am happy. The shutter count ended up being over 150k. But I know I will still be able to get a lot out of it.

Love this camera. Fast shutter and fabulous low-light capability with much less grain when you boost the iso. I now own 2 D3 bodies because I heart them so much.

Superb camera and superb optics. How can I go back into the darkroom after using this camera? Admittedly, it is does get a little heavy after a time, but that a small price to pay for the results. While I have not used a comparable Canon and it may just as good as the Nikon, the fact is nothing on the market right now can surpass the D3 for camera controls and quality results.

There is little I can say that will do this camera justice. Simply stated, its the camera to end all cameras. Being a 20-year experienced amateur photo hound, there isnt anything I would change about this camera. What I like most is the max 1/8000th sec shutter speed and 6400+ ASA/ISO equivalent film speed. You can let the camera do everything....OR....YOU can do EVERYTHING....or anywhere in between. Ive had this camera for about a month now, and Ive already sold some of my work with it to Cycle Magazine. Its pricey, but if you want complete freedom to do what you want, this is the camera to have. Combine the selection of lenses with the available accessories, there is literally NOTHING you CANT do!!!

The ability to take pictures in extreme conditions that actually look good. I tried to hold on with the D70s for the longest time, just investing in lenses until my album company just said I needed something more. So the other day during dusk I took the 70s and the D3 (I know, absurd comparison) to take some pictures with a 1.4 lens. The D3 basically allowed me to take pictures without flash for an extra 20 minutes. So it can literally take pictures that your old camera could not. Other than that, the construction and speed is robust and Nikon shooters already know about the excellent ergonomics and button layout. One note though: There are a few dead pixels in live view mode. I exchanged it for another brand new one which ALSO had dead pixels (although fewer). Since I never use live view, I let it go but just a warning. It doesnt affect the actual picture output though. I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars because of this. Other than that, you get what you pay for.
