I bought the camera body to replace my faulty EOS Rebel. WOW, what a great camera. I plugged in the battery, put in a chip, clicked on a lense and started taking great photos. I was leaving on vacation within a few days of delivery so I needed it to work right away. I was taking sunset wide-angle photos in the airport, out the plane window and of the Rockies when landing. I got photos of Mustangs along side of the road while riding down the highway at 60 miles an hour and photos of the night time Casino lights...all without a hitch. This is a great camera, and the price was right. I would buy this again and recommend it to friends .

The camera works well - my daughter got it for Christmas and Ive been waiting to review, but she uses it nonstop and its great. We found the drivers and manual online for free, no problem. Seller was accommodating and kind, everything arrived as described and in perfect shape.

Im a big fan of the Canon Rebel XS. Its the first DSLR I ever owned. I first bought one for my parents; after using it, I liked it so much I bought one for myself. I ended up getting the body only because I wanted to try other lenses. I got a Canon f1.8/50mm lens, and a Tamron 17-55mm/f2.8 lens. Both lenses are good enough to take any type of regular photograph. The build quality is great. It has a solid construction and it seems like it can handle lots of rough handling. Use common sense obviously; dont drop the thing! But Im not worried about throwing it in a book bag or suitcase to take with me. The ISO is not as good as some of the higher end cameras. Night photos all look grainy; I have to edit the noise out using Adobe Lightroom. This camera has everything you need if you want to start learning photography.

I really wanted to get into photography but didnt have much of a budget to do so, so after a photography friends recommendation, I purchased this camera with high hopes. It is fantastic. The first few weeks I had it, I took it everywhere with me. It gets clean and crisp shots and because it doesnt take video, the battery seems to last forever! Yeah, its not a super high-end camera with all the bells and whistles, but this is a great starter camera for someone wanting to get into photography.

I bought the Rebel XS as my first entry into the "DSLR" world at the advise of a friend....I couldnt be happier! This camera does everything (and more) that a rookie photog needs it to do, and the picture quality is far and above what I got with my Nikon 8mp point and shoot. Ive probably taken several hundred shots already, and I still havent had a need to charge the battery....in one word, this camera is "amazing". My next purchase--a 35 or 50 mm prime lens.... Scott
