Just got this camera body in March because I already have the Rebel T5 and a few lenses and wanted to be able to change lenses without taking them off of a camera. Used it for the first time a few days ago on a photo hunt for abandoned things in the woods and I already love it. The touch screen is helpful if you need quick adjustments, the viewfinder is great, actually showing the metering points which bolden when the shutter is pressed halfway and focusing then creates a good photo to put through post processing. My example photo is for my camera club’s monthly challenge. With post processing after I determined which photo had the right angle I wanted, it was pretty simple to make it look as eerie and spooky as I saw it. The color is bold at first with the right settings, on vivid image and atmosphere as cloudy. But so far this camera body has a good rating from me. Also, the wifi was easy to set up to get the pictures from the camera directly to my phone and then I could put on my Google Drive and get it on my laptop to put in Lightroom; no physical connections needed! That’s a plus. Just make sure you get the app from your phone’s app store or play store to be able to sync with the IP of the camera. The wifi is enabled through the menu and not a button as I at first thought. Still, pretty simple to set up.

This is my first time buying a DSLR and, as someone who is relatively new to photography/videography, Im impressed with how quickly Ive been able to learn the ins and outs of this camera. The kit comes with plenty of materials that helped me get started and I couldnt be happier with the results Ive gotten. Im still learning the techniques but Id say this is a great DSLR to start out with and it can be used equally well in the hands of an amateur or a professional. Ive included some untouched photos that Ive taken for anyone who would like an idea of the types of images one can capture even at a beginner level.

This is a really good camera for the price. I use it professionally to do real estate photography as well as studio head shots. Yes I know this is an entry level camera, but if you work in controlled environments this camera can do great. But if you are doing event photography this camera probably isnt going to be your best bet. There are other Canon cameras with faster focusing, way better ISO and weather sealing that are awesome for weddings, sports ect. This camera works very similar to my previous camera the Canon Rebel t3i. I didnt really notice a difference in resolution even though my last camera was 18MP and this is 24MP. The only difference to me was the wifi and touch screen. Wifi: 2/5 I love that they included wifi on this camera, it allows you to see what the camera is seeing in live view, change camera settings and even view photos you just took. But if you are using your phone to control the camera, your camera goes black and you cannot use the view finder, the screen or any of the controls on the camera, only the phone. In order to go back to using your camera you have to un pair your phone. In order to use your phone again you have to re enable wifi on your camera and re pair the camera and phone. This can get really annoying. I wish this worked like a few other cameras I have used that allow you to use your phone and the camera at the same time with out un pairing and re pairing. Because if I walk away from my camera I want to be able to control it with my phone, but if I walk back to it I want to be able to use the cameras screen and controls. Secondly the app could be a lot more intuitive than it is. But over all I am glad this camera has the feature and I have used it a few times. Touch screen: 4/5 I dont use touch screen but I tried it out and it works well. The nice thing is you can lock the touch screen so that it doesnt work by touch. That way you dont accidentally bump things. Image quality: 4/5 For this price point you can get pretty dang good pictures if you know what you are doing, have good light and a good lens. Video Quality: 2/5 I really love canon cameras and several years back I was very impressed with their video capability. But other than the 5D Mark IIII, the video has not improved over the years. It is only HD, and with that being said it is very compressed low bit rate HD so its not even very good HD. I use a Panasonic G7 to get high bit rate 4K video that looks pretty dang good compared to the video on this canon. Continous auto focus in video mode: I am really glad they included this and it works pretty well. I am not able to comment on it much because I normally use manual focus. But there have been a few times I had shots moving focus points and it was nice being able to use the continuous auto focus in video mode it has. I attached a few example images I took with this camera.

Bought this a month ago, fell in love with it and all of a sudden the camera display wont rotate with the screen (it remains upside down in selfie mode) so now I cant use the camera for the reason I bought it anymore. I now have to pay for shipping to send it to canon to repair it. Incredibly disappointed to have to do this after spending over $1000 CAD on a supposedly a quality camera :(

Finally got up enough courage to upgrade from my Canon Rebel xTi and Im so glad I did. Out of the box the photos are exponentially better. The quality is outstanding. I dabbled in Manual mode and I am shocked at the difference between the two cameras. I feel like Ive been using a prehistoric camera for the past 10 years. I cannot say enough good things about the T6i. It is well worth the extra money. I am not a professional so my opinions are not going to include all the indepth language and such. I know just enough to make manual changes and play with the settings to get better payoff. Even on "auto" this camera will handle anything you can photograph. The autofocus in live mode is a pain so I continue to use th viewfinder for photography and just use the live mode for any videos I may want to take. Excellent option for everyone!

So the camera is awesome and I highly recommend this model, its a very good camera for a good price. But I do not recommend this kit because the microphone is really bad. It worked a few times perfectly and the sound was awesome and then all of a sudden this terrible white noice type of noise came and stayed. I tried to do all I could to get rid of it but theres no way. I noticed that tones of people have the same problem with this specific microphone. In my opinion its much better to buy the camera and a DIFFERENT microphone separately.

I bought this for my girlfriend who is wanting to break into photography. The camera suits her well, it is user friendly and easy to navigate. Obviously it lacks some features that the pro line Canons have, but then again this wasnt bought at a 5D price; or an 80D price for that matter. For videography, the mic input isnt as clean as other brand DSLRs or 4:3s, but this again relates to the price point. I would love to see Canon software update, patch in or even begin installing peaking abilities in new models. Its not a required feature but it makes life so much easier for multicam setups. Ultimately, for the price point this is one of the best entry level consumer/pro-sumer DSLRs Ive ever played with.

This is the first major piece of gear I bought, and I love my camera. The pictures come out near perfect with auto settings and the menu is so easy to use and navigate. The video quality, with a few tweaks in the settings, are unreal! I truly believe this T6i kit is a phenomenal place to start if you want to get into photography or videography. If your main focus is video, I suggest spending a few more dollars and get the video creator kit.

I have never had a camera before or really ever took photos before on one so I was nervous to invest. As a beginner I can confirm that this is the perfect camera for a beginner and comes with the camera, lens, battery, battery charger, a power chord and a handbook and instruction video. The wifi function makes it super easy to transfer photos from my camera to my phone! I definitely recommend ordering this camera from amazon because its a great camera for a great price!

So far we love this camera. I got it for my daughter and she is thrilled to have it. We have not had it long. Therefore, we havent had enough time to really get to know this product fully. But she did her homework and everyone she spoke with nearly said to get this camera because it is so good. So far, she understands why. It is great. She truly researched in great detail and this is what she has found to be one of the best. We look forward to using it for a lot of things and also make a lot of videos as well as do photoshoots with it.
