Perfect intro level DSLR. Plenty of awesome source material out there to get going and get shooting. Tons of instructional videos on YouTube for free so no need to waste money on classes if there is a particular area of skill you want to "focus" on - sorry lol! Awesome quality given the brand and a veritable trove of accessories and lenses to pick from when you want to up your game. Remember its not about the equipment at the end of the day, its all about your own skill and know-how as a photographer. You could have the most expensive, mirrorless, digital, precision wrought camera in all the world that would still take shoddy photos if ones skill level was low. This camera is a perfect entry level to stepping up your game as a serious photog, as a youtube content creator and a plethora of other creative endeavours. If youre new to this type of camera set up the initial learning curve might feel a bit tough but its very adaptive and super easy to navigate once you do. One piece of advice would be this: buy and extra battery so you always have one on charge ready to pop since waiting around for a single rechargeable power pack to be ready will totally wreck your stride and other field testing, it sucks to have to cut short a really good project simply because you ran out of juice.

We bought this for our son, who has had an interest in learning more about photography. He really likes the different options on this camera, as well as the WiFI capability. There are lots of special effects and settings to try out, and since its digital, if it doesnt work, its easy to delete and try again. He thought he wanted an old school 35mm, but now he says hes glad he has a digital instead.

611/19 Update..the card functions great. So far so good! 6/6/19 Update: after researching I am finding this item to be a gray market item. There is a difference between the D and I version. Direct import vs Imported. This camera is a T6 1300D gray market. This is one of the reasons I am having a card issue. Page 5 of the manual indicates "this camera can use UHS 1 cards but since it is not comparable with the UHS 1 standard, reading/writing will be equivalent to SD Speed Class 10 at most." Amazon has an obligation to inform its customer. I am hoping the SanDisk I ordered today will work. Otherwise the camera gets returned :0( 6/5/19 My camera will not format the SD card. Reading reviews online Im trying to figure out if this is an international version and if that matters
