I have a T3i which I was very pleased with. I wanted another one but because they are discontinued the prices went up and couldnt get it. However, the T5i worked out to be even better for me. The pluses for me is that in video mode it doesnt stop recording around the 10min mark. The T5i will continue to record, it will just however break the video up into 4gig parts. This one is also touch screen and the feel of the camera is a little different but pretty much has the same body as it predecessor.

This is a terrific camera, with ease of operation and a huge amount of options to enhance photographs. This model replaced a simpler Canon EOS Rebel that was malfunctioning and not focusing. I like the reversible screen that one can fold out or turn over for easy viewing. While the book to operate it was quite comprehensive, it is clearly written and easy to go through the various options and see how to select them. I recommend reading the book with camera in hand and going through the various choices and learning how to properly select them. Canon EOS Rebel T5i Digital SLR. The camera works well with all of my existing lenses and takes crisp balanced photos.

I have been using the 300D - this camera is the 700D ... what an upgrade! Smaller, lighter and MUCH easier to use. One of the things that I love about CANON equipment, one is able to interchange many of the add-ons. It is also compatible with SIGMA & TAMRON lenses, all excellent buys. I would recommend this particular camera to anyone who loves to just go out in the fresh air and click away or to the pro or semi-pro. Excellent photos and fun and easy to use. I bought mine on AMAZON, it arrived quickly, nicely packaged with a battery, charger and manuals and cost $200+ less than my camera shop that I use from time to time. I just needed to buy the body due to my lenses all being compatible. The only thing that differed is the memory card, which is very reasonably priced and can be bought at Walmart.

I like the camera thus far...it was an upgrade from my old XTi. Im not a fan of the vari angle LCD screen. I prefer the LCD screen to be flushed into the camera body. its just my preference, so far the image quality is outstanding and i enjoy using this when i take outdoors. Two features I also liked about this model. It has a built in Speedlite transmitter. Since i already have an older Speedlite 420ex...I was able to set the 420ex a slave unit and use the T5i built in flash as a transmitter or also a flash with the transmitter to control the 420ex from a distance. I like this feature, this will probably make me want to invest later on the Speedlite 600ex-rt. Second, in self timer mode, you can shoot multiple shots, which i also love. I think you can set the self timer to take like 10 shots continuously. I like this, as when taking family shots, you dont have to run back and forth to set the self timer...plus, it helps me, as i am lazy to run back and forth to the camera. Overall, if youre looking for a beginner type DSLR, this is the one I prefer.

I moved up (or would it be forward?) from a Rebel XTi because I wanted the near pro video capture options and ability. Im not looking back, this thing is the balls. I have three Canon lenses (AF-S) and tried them with perfect results. Love all the customization options and built in filters. Ive shot about a hundred photos and 10 movies so far. Extremely pleased with both RAW captures and JPEG images. Now Ive got to get to work using all my new Canon software. Feels great in the hand, the new textured case is wonderful, and seems to be as rugged as all Canons.

This purchase was specifically for Real Estate photography and Pole Photography. Needed a feature packed light weight camera that would be compatible with current 10-24mm lens and other electronic equipment adaptable requirements. The touch screen and its features including the touch shutter enable and disable feature is invaluable. The SCN feature is a time saver in small low light areas where flash would wash. Video quality is good. All in all, a good consumer camera.

Perfect machine! I am mainly using this for my YouTube channel and I am very happy with the quality and performance. Right now, I am having a little trouble with manual sound recording through an external mic but I think the problem is not about the camera but about me (or the extension cord I bought). Somehow, I am just recieving mono sound in the videos, although my mic is stereo. Hopefully it is not about the camera. I will let you know when I find out. Anyways, definitely a great camera for this price. Go for it.

Bought specifically to use in Africa on research safaris, along with the Canon EF 70-300 USM lens. Didnt take too long to learn to use it and am more than happy with the pictures I got. Canon makes a great sturdy product for heavy outdoor in the bush use. Highly recommend.

I bought this camera for my husband for Christmas. He already had a Canon Rebel EOS Xsi SLR camera so I wasnt sure how much better this camera would be but I was shocked. The pictures hes already taken are amazing and we arent professionals. We have a Jack Russell and we are always trying to capture him on camera but most of the shots end up out of focus. The T5i captures him without any effort and we already have some amazing pictures.

Great improvements of my Canon T3. ISO button allows for quick changing of sensitivity without entering menus. A video setting on the power switch allows for quicker switching to video, and back to photo without losing your settings on the wheel. SD card side mount allows use of battery pack without blocking sd card. All the annoyances I had with the T3 are corrected. 5 frames per second shooting, 12800 ISO, 18MP. Great product. All lenses, of course, compatible.
Make sure this fitsby entering your model number. 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor 5 FPS continuous shooting 9 point AF system, all cross type ISO 100-12800 (expandable to 25600) 1080 (30, 25, 24 fps) and 720 (60, 50 fps) HD video (29min limit, H.264 format) 3" articulating touch panel LCD screen with 1,040,000 dots Movie Servo AF for continuous focus tracking of moving subjects
