This was a gift ordered for a birthday last weekend unfortunately we had a snow storm so it wasn’t able to get delivered in time, totally understandable you can’t control Mother Nature ! But, I gave it to the person today and was completely embarrassed. I spent over $800 and it looks used. We opened the camera box and nothing was wrapped as if it were new and the manual is torn up, the memory card looks like It was opened the box crumbled and put back together with tape. I don’t usually complain about anything, esp being ordered off the internet but for the amount of money I spent this is not acceptable.

Great camera, perfect kit lens for the beginner and all the accessories you need to start: memory, a few filters, and a card reader. The good: the telephoto and wide angle lenses will be fun to play with and can help get a feel for what sort of lens you might want next, even if they have unwanted lensing effects around the edge of the image. The camera bag, memory storage pack and screen protector, cleaning kit, and extra flash are icing on the cake. The filters and storage bag are handy and well worth keeping. The bad: the infrared wireless remote doesnt work with this camera because it doesnt have an infrared receiver. The tripod comes with a bubble but definitely has a cheap feel, and even though its better than nothing, the manfrotto kit is a much better and practical option. The bottom line: if its your first DSLR, its the best place to start since it has a fantastic sensor capable of capturing beautiful photos and videos; with user friendly menus, and simplified controls. Even if the body feels cheap, the internals are outstanding; otherwise gives a great sense of what to look for (and avoid) in your next camera.

The camera itself is phenomenal for a new photographer, but if I were planning to purcahse an SL2 again, I would probably opt for a different package. The 75-300mm lens doesnt offer image stabilization, which isnt ideal if you plan to take photos using the lens without a tripod. I also found many of the other accessories just werent great quality and I quickly needed to buy alternatives anyway. After getting my camera, I took a Digital SLR class and when talking with my instructor I was flatout told not to bother using the external flash included, or the telephoto and wide angle lenses. The UV filter is also plexiglass, so it doesnt really protect the lens it is on and the CPL filter doesnt really seem to be getting the desired effect. All that being said - I absolutely LOVE the camera itself and am really happy with it! Its been great as a beginner, and the small size makes it so easy to bring it with me different places!

I am very much a beginner to SLR cameras, although I have always wanted one since I was a kid. In choosing this particular camera and bundle my pre-purchase research included what type of camera would be good for a novice like me, but that also had features specifically tailored to my desire to make video presentations. Though this is an entry level Canon model, it does have the same dual auto focus feature as Canons higher end cameras. That, along with the fact this bundle also came with both a Canon 18-55 lens and a Canon 75-300 telephoto lens was a determining factor. Several other bundles had many of the same products included, but this additional lens at the bundle price sold me. As for the rest of the package, everything else was as expected except for the tripod that came with the bundle. I was expecting a 12" flexible tripod, but instead received a standard 48" tripod. That was the only disappointment as that was another reason I bought this bundle. I already have standard tripods- I wanted one of the shorter flexible ones, as shown with the bundle I was buying. The two adapter lenses (.43x Hi Def Wide angle lens and 2.2x Hi Def Telephoto lens are not Canon products but attach to the included Canon lenses enhancing their capabilities. So far I have tried a few basic functions of the camera, taking some basic photos and video, and I really like the results. As I get more familiar with the features, I will update this entry with more information that could be helpful to people considering this product.

The 2 lenses that attach to the camera lens do not actually fit the camera lens. It is a 55mm, but the attachments are for a 58mm. The company refused to help.

Kind of upset because the kit did not come with the "Polaroid Studio Series Pro Slave Flash Includes Mounting Bracket" as promised. Instead I was sent some off brand flasher. -_-

This is a review of the accessories included in this set, not the camera itself. Go to a place like DPReview.com to hear about the camera from someone who knows more than me. Either way, the set costs the same as the camera + lens kit alone, so these are all essentially freebies, but its fair to compare them to the freebies which the *other* sets offer. * SD Card: No complaints here. I can shoot in the largest format (RAW + high-res JPEG) and not fill it up. It does take a few seconds to write at that speed though. The buffer holds 9 shots, so you can shoot 9 before it takes a break to finish writing. * Screen protector: Doesnt fit the screen. It includes a template of camera screen sizes to cut it to, but none of those quite match either. Youll have to measure it yourself and cut. There are multiple protectors in the pack so if you mess one up its not a big deal. * Flash: Absurdly bright, reasonably lightweight. I havent tried controlling it remotely so I cant say whether it works for that. * Tripod: Not very tall, but versatile. You can bend the legs however if theres no flat surface. The mount with the bubble level detaches, so you can use it as a level on the camera without the whole tripod, which is handy since the camera doesnt have a level function. * Remote: COMPLETELY incompatible. This is an IR remote and the camera has no IR sensor. Main reason I took a star off. FYI: you need a wired or Bluetooth remote for this camera body. * Macro lens: Creates some slight distortion around the edges, but it works decently with the kit lens. * Telephoto lens: Significantly decreases the usable area of the sensor. I havent seen a usage case so far where its worth it for the zoom this gives. Still, most of the other sets dont seem to have a telephoto adapter so Im not complaining much here. * Lens kit: UV filter works decently as a protector, but can cause lens flares in brighter light. Havent tested the other two out much. * Lens cover strap: The Canon lens cover doesnt really have any flat surfaces, so the thin adhesive patch here doesnt have much to grab. I replaced it with a bit of Command Strip (thicker, squishier) and it works great. * Bag: Bigger than it looks in the picture. Large enough to hold everything included except for the tripod, but only if you remove the lens from the body. If you want to keep the camera in a ready-to-use configuration, its less efficient.

Im giving this two stars because the accessories are garbage. The camera is phenomenal, however all the little gadgets that made me purchase this bundle are junk. Two pieces didnt work right out of the box. Do yourself a favor and buy the camera separately and spend a bit more on quality items that actually work.

My step-son started an online business. We were using our cell phones to take the pictures, thought that was good quality.... wrong! I bought this (always wanted a decent camera anyway) and I tell you what, its amazing! The pictures come out WAY better and professional looking without having to do anything in Photoshop or any other software program. For me, $599 is a lot of $$$, some people this is just a drop in the bucket but this is a major purchase for me. Im so glad I did it. My son graduates next year and Im going to do his pictures myself. I took a few and sent them to my ex-wife and she thought I had them professionally done, she loved them!........well until she found out that I did them and of course she didnt like them as much... those divorced know what I mean lol. But really, I dont give awesome reviews if the product sucks. Trust me on this one, its one amazing camera with amazing features (did a lot of reading and YouTube watching) for the amount of money you are paying for it. On the downside which isnt anybodys fault (crap happens)... the lens that came with the camera, the autofocus stopped working after switching it off once (Manual Focus to Auto Focus). I wrote to Canon and they stated that I could ship it back and they would look at it to make sure its still under warranty and then they would fix it. As one review stated, the accessories that come with the kit are freebies. Seen a lot of complaints about the freebies they got including that the bag was crappy... Well, the accessories that I got (that are pictured) all work fine and the bag is really nice! The ONLY thing that failed me with the accessories is the wireless remote. Could not for the life of me get it to work. But thats ok because I downloaded the Canon app and it allows you to connect to the camera and you can remote shot from your phone! It also allows you to view live on your phone what your camera sees, adjust ISO, Amateur, etc remotely. You can even view all your photos on the cameras memory stick right from your phone. Its a really nice and handy app! I know if you need a camera, you will enjoy this one!

The camera is great. Super easy to use. The auto focus is dead on. Five stars. The telephoto and wide angle lenses some off brand that are hard to screw onto the end of the normal lens because the threading is super small and they vignette pretty bad. The instructions are less than helpful. Id probably give the lenses 2 stars. Pretty disappointed.
